I love credit cards so much!

won't work, I made this mistake also and was corrected. You can't book a Dolphin res now using a nights and flights cert, and after 8/1 it won't qualify in that category.

I was wondering now if I should go for the cat 6 N/F package? The cat 5 seems to be what everyone is going for though, so maybe the math doesn't work out? Going to make as to try to figure it out.

my concern (similar case) is if I book now using spg points, and need to change it later.... what do I get back to use? how do I rebook something so vastly different?
For single nights? I assumed it would be the spg point amount converted to Marriott. Not sure though...

OH, Chase, I can't figure you out. The last card I opened, IHG, pretty much put me on notice that I'm reaching my Chase credit limit. When I did the application, it asked if I had any other sources of income I wanted them to consider, so I "remembered" some. Got the card, but with a low limit. I have both Sapphire cards, and those have ridiculously high limits. i want the option to apply for the new SW card when it comes out, so I recently canceled the one I had and was planning on lowering my limits on some of my other cards. However, cancelling that SW card must have freed up some credit space, because when I signed into my accounts yesterday, I noticed they had RAISED the limit on my IHG. I'm planning on lowering my limits, but Chase is raising them.:confused3

lol Chase approved my Marriott Biz at just a $5k CL, which prompted me to start lowering my CLs. I noticed last month Chase bumped the Marriott Biz up to $7k. I promptly SMed them to lower it back down to $5k.

PSA: @SouthFayetteFan 's the Southwest Guru who usually posts this kind of information, but he's on vacation so here's a friendly reminder:

Tomorrow, June 28, 2018, Southwest will open their flights schedule through Mar 6, 2019 for sale:
  • The next release is: On June 28, 2018 we will open our schedule for sale through March 6, 2019. That could change and you can track it here.
  • The release times that [SouthFayetteFan's] tracked recently have been 6:55am; 8:10am; and [most recently] was approx. 7:35am eastern. [A] range of 7am - 8:30am continues to be a reasonable expectation...but Southwest can do whatever they want.
  • There were some reports of people unable to book via mobile first when they first released [last time] while others were fine booking on the desktop site. (SouthFayetteFan also noticed the ability to search were different on the two versions initially).
HAHA - I really did unplug this week so thanks for reminding everybody :)

I Was up and on my laptop at 7:30 on Thursday morning however to book our flights for Disney World in January ;)

I couldn’t help myself and applied for the AA CitiBusiness Card. Instant approval. Yay!
CONGRATULATIONS!! party:
Since it is a business card, does this impact your 5/24 status? I assume not.

For those of you who use Informed Delivery, did you have to go in person to verify identity?
I was able to do everything on-line.

Thanks for sharing this, we got back last night and fortunately didn’t really have very many issues on the way home. We did hit this traffic but I guess based on the time of day we came through it wasn’t that terrible :)

Apparently the state of WV has decided to pave about 5 miles into the state at each border and neglect every other road in the state. I got caught in traffic yesterday at the PA/WV border after I went to pick my DD up for the weekend from Pittsburgh.

Need to already be thinking of the next card(s). Reminder on stats in case Lain's spreadsheet is not updated
CIP 2/18
SPG Biz 3/18
IHG 4/18
CIC 5/18
Hilton Biz 5/18

DH CIP 4/18
DH Hilton Biz 6/18
He plays but is a little reluctant.

Will be putting next semester tuition on my Hilton BIZ and DH Hilton Biz which will finish those up.
Next up is my Glacier trip which I would love go get a new card for hotels/food/car. That trip starts Aug 25.

I really want the CSR/CSP. When do you think the earliest I could go for it? If not in time for Glacier, I'll probably have DH get CIC and add me as employee to use that!

If you want to go for the CSR+CSP double dip, I'd put that at least 3 months after your (or your husband's) last Chase card or reported card. So that would be 9/18 for you and 8/18 for DH. In the meantime, I'd not apply for another Chase card (biz or personal) or personal card from another issuer before then. I'd also look over my (or Player 2's) total credit lines with Chase vs. stated household income and start reducing (to < 50%) accordingly.

Keep in mind, when proactively reducing credit lines:

- It's best to reduce CLs far enough in advance so that the lowered CLs are reported to the credit report(s) that Chase pulls before submitting a new application. Although you can SM Chase to reduce a CL on a card, and Chase will reduce your CL effective immediately, Chase does not report the reduced CL to the credit bureaus until the close of statement on that card. So although Chase should know how much credit it's extended to you, its approval algorithm may still be looking at your credit report and see the higher CL.

- If your CLs are high, when deciding how much to reduce a CL to, leave an extra $5k in available credit for each new card you may be applying for (and $10k for a CSR) in case you have to move credit from an existing card to open the new card(s). On a double dip, you cannot move credit from the first newly opened card to open the second card.

- Chase will not let you move credit from personal cards to open a biz card, or from biz cards to open a personal card. So reduce CLs among your personal and biz cards with that in mind (i.e., if planning to apply for a personal card, leave enough credit on your personal cards to reallocate, and lower the biz card limits instead).

DH could go for the CSR+CSP double dip sooner than you, as soon as early August, but he may have to call in to get one or both cards approved so they're on the same day, and as you said he's reluctant. CSRs are almost always expedited and should arrive within 2 business days following approval, so you could have it in time for your Glacier trip.

One last thing to consider if you're planning to double dip. As you may know, I've been following DPs and discussion about Chase double dips followed by lowered credit lines on both newly approved cards. In none of these DPs has Chase closed a newly approved card or told the applicant they can't have two Sapphires; but Chase has unilaterally lowered the credit lines on the cards, likely, if they think the automated system overextended credit to you on two approvals.

I haven't been on here in awhile, but DH has reached the MSR for his CIP card. He referred me today and I just applied. I called within maybe 5 minutes of applying and it said it may take 2 weeks. I'm hoping that's a good sign since it didn't say 7-10 days!

DD home for the weekend so I had her apply for the Discover card. I used a Dischurner link, but it took her so long, I can't remember whose I used! She had applied last year without asking for help and was denied I think because she had put a rent payment of more than she made in a year. I told her not to put it in because she does not pay her own rent. This time she was approved with $1000 limit. She seems shocked lol - wait, it says I am approved already?!?!

Does anyone know of the best card to use for grocery spending, esp at Whole Foods? We have an AMEx and should have the 2 CS cards soon (waiting for them to arrive). Don’t want the Amazon card and of course thats what they are pushing.

I can't say what the "best" card is, but I use the Amex Everyday for groceries. No AF. There are others with an AF that may get you more back.

When Chase Freedom or Discover IT has groceries as the 5x category I switch my grocery spend to those.

Whenever I shop at Whole Foods (which is not often), I get a WF gift card from Office Depot -- do you have a card that gets 5% back at office supply stores?

CIP here i come!?
