I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

That $461 doesn’t include the 10% back on the AAA credit card, so that would make it about $415. If it’s a straight cash back that is. If it comes back as rewards I could get more value since I can use the rewards with a multiplier to renew my membership.

Same. Recent $4000 expense I wasn't anticipating, and I am just like 😭 at my only 2%, I am hoping it at least shows Amex I am spender outside of bonus earnings.

I know the feeling. Very high spend at the moment on an unplanned home renovation and I've blown through two Ink MSRs in a matter of days. DH has 3 Ink cards (all opened within the last year) and I just finished up my MSR so it's far too soon for me to try for a new one.

Anyone have any suggestions? ❓

Venture x.... anyone here a fan? Like others, looking for msr.... it's either gonna be a us bank something or maybe x? Or how hard is it to get into boa world? Alaska air looks tempting... i wish swa would have a decent offer, i usually use those up!

I was a fan of VentureX - it was basically a free card after the annual credits and it offered free priority pass for AU's.

However, now that the AU PP is going away and they are removing lounge guest access, I am not sure I will continue with it.

Even with removing the lounge access for Authorized users it is still a keeper for us. After all it does turn into a free card with with credits and points. Just wish I could get hotel points when booking through them but airfare I can so that is a win.

I am also in the club of those looking for a new SUB. I can't find any that make me want to pull the trigger. I need to book tix for Europe next June, preferably J. I've been looking at Flying Blue since they've already released their schedule that far out. I am also monitoring United and American (and even Delta). It's been a couple of years since I booked to Europe. What is considered a good lower rate with pts these days for J? So far the lowest I've seen is around 121K pts.

We were looking at flights to Dublin yesterday and saw 88k for United biz

I like my Venture X! Between the $300 portal credit and 10,000 points each anniversary, it's easy to cancel out the AF if you don't mind using the portal. Used to be great for getting priority pass for free AU, but thats going to be changing unfortunately. 😕

I'll probably still keep the card. It's a 2x points catch-all that you can pair with Savor for 3x points in groceries and dining (two large spend categories fir my family). It also has cell phone insurance if you use it to pay the phone bill. Plus good rental car insurance.

I recently tried to apply for a BoA business card (running out of SUB options like many others here) and was denied. Read that it's easier if you have a banking relationship with them, which i don't have.

So I have the basic venture- would you recommend getting the savor next, or the x? Groceries is my biggest spend

If you go into your account and look at upgrades is Savor shown? If so I would sign up for the X with its welcome bonus. I would then transfer the Venture miles to the X and then “upgrade” the venture to the Savor as the bonus is usually not much on the savor card. The savor earns cash back but can transfer 1 way as miles to the venture and venture X for travel or transfer partners.

Where are you located? I've noticed better rewards on Flying Blue out of Canada - we are near CLE so I've been looking at flights out of Toronto for next year, have found a number of 60K rewards in Biz.

If you stalk them, I often find flights on AF for 60k pp one way in J. With some stalking AA can be had for 57.5K pp each way in J.

I was lucky enough to find that award pricing for flights back home in January from London. The taxes and fees were high but still much less than a one way or even RT in economy. So, I have no problem girl/Disney mathing this to, my flight is less than a coach ticket in real money and I upgraded it with miles to a lie flat seat. That works for me LOL

I try to look for J seats at less than 150k pp each way. I wouldn't hesitate to book 121K in J, but I'd still check as time goes on for a lower redemption that I could re-book the flight at just in case. Well, depending on the cancellation/rebooking policy for the airline and how much I would be saving in miles.

Holy heck. Threw caution to the wind and applied for an Ink Cash for p2 and got instant approval! I am floored!! I will have expedited, but I won't be home, I will have my kid send me the card number to put in my apple wallet. And the credit limit is crazy high, not the normal $6000

And more shockingly, it went into his initial profile from a million years ago in Chase. That hasn't happened in a couple of years.

Could it be that Chase is finally easing up on the Ink train?
DH is 1/24 with 3 Ink cards, 2 personal. Denied for another Ink so I closed one of his yesterday. I'm 2/24 with 4 Inks, 5 personal with CSP 60 days ago. Closed 1 Ink Thursday, one yesterday. App'd this morning for CIU and instant approval with $9k CL (recently received $3-5k CL).
And I forgot to use support from DH. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Nice. Did you already have a CIU? I'm thinking of moving forward with an app today. Only have one INK, CIC, which is carrying a balance until Sep. Would like another CIC since I'll mostly use it at Staples for fee-free Visas but I thought getting a different flavor, like CIU, would increase my chances

Yes, I now have 3 CIU. I rarely do the GC thing so I just went with CIU for the extra 0.5%. I also have a balance on 1 of my CIU.
