Just app'd for CSP - instant approval with 5k cl (it doesn't have to be 10?) anyway I had pc'd mine a bit over a week ago- woohoo! Used a support link rather than rakuten bc it's $100 either way

No CSP is a Visa Signature so it does not require the CL that Visa Infinite does

Crazy story. My 22 year old DS just called me and said "there is a problem with my Hawaii trip"

Backstory- DS graduated from college last year, his girlfriend graduates this coming weekend. He's taking her to Hawaii for graduation. Sounds fancy but with free flights and a free timeshare with a kitchen it is a cheap trip.

Flight to Hawaii was booked for 5/20. Today my son got an email (on an account he admits to not checking often) that he missed his flight to Hawaii on 5/10. The flight was booked for 5/20. He has the original confirmation. How the heck did it change to 5/10??? Just checked SW site and the flight he booked for 5/20 isn't showing online so there must have been a schedule change.

He's calling customer service now. I'm pretty sure he wanted me to call for him but I want him to learn to do some of this travel stuff on his own. I hope SW fixes this!

ETA: He didn't get it fixed but we did. When he called the first rep hung up on him after 20 min ( accident I think) and the 2nd rep claimed DS called and changed the flight in February. Nope not true. Then he said "maybe someone got your confirmation number and called in and changed your flight". Nope. He told my son he could only do vouchers for the price paid which would have left him to pay $600 more to get to Hawaii.

DH called and had a great rep who got him switched to a different flight on the day he's supposed to fly. She said something must have gotten messed up in the system when there was a schedule change. So it is all good now but it is annoying that the 1st rep was unwilling to fix the issue!

I was bored Friday I pinged chase and they told me the AF hike is coming. They wouldn't give me any details, but I searched and found this

Also, from what I've found on Reddit more leaks are coming The 300$ fee is staying and the 1.5x transfer is going to die too if so wth are they thinking A new card must be coming. I hate to say it, but this seems way more credible than the Project Emerald.

It seems like these reservations are for Visa Infinite (Not Dining Credits) So I assume a Venture X would work as well to get the reservations.

I may have to look at the Ventures.

I am so sad about the rumored CSR changes. That was easily my favorite card for using of benefits. I hate hate hate the Amex coupon booking. I've gotten rid of a couple cards recently due to it (one of my Platinums and my Aspire).

Me too. We have a lot of UR earning cards that we pool onto the CSR for redemptions.

Okay, so I was under the gun to apply for the CSP. Last apped for the card in late April of 2021 and I did not have it documented when I earned the SUB. I needed to apply today (rumored to be last support day) and in order to get approved, it means I met the SUB in 2021 in just 26 days.

I don't think this is accurate bc when I signed up and linked our CSR, it listed restaurants in our mid-sized city. I can't imagine Milwaukee of all cities is one of the four. No credits are showing up yet, just the curated list of restaurants and reservations.

Totally an aside, but I thought of you with the announcement about yesterday being the last day to book into Emirates First. I know you love a good seat in first and wondered if you were able to book anything before time ran out?

I didn’t. Hadn’t occurred to me to book anything, though I suppose I could’ve tried for a seat from NYC —> Milan next year. But I hate to think of stranding points if it didn’t work out. I wasn’t happy with the food on Emirates the only time I flew first class with them, who knows if it’s in the cards for me to fly first with them again?

According to what i read, it's going to be 500$ off the Chase travel portal, we'll see what happens, hopefully, both the 3x to me is the worst thing of it. Personally I think if this is true and it seems like it is, we'll find out before the quarter is over. Maybe I need to call Chase vs a direct message.

And that 1.5x is for when you transfer to the pay itself back. It will be 1x like the travel bonus. I do think that we will have a year but this is speculation whole thing seems credible.

on the face of it id probably cancel this card even though I've had it since the beginning, and pick up an amex green I looked through the last few years on my year end statement the vast majority of my spend is travel and its not hotels unless those are hyatt and I use that card.

From my airport to the simplest of destinations (MCO) where I used to have multiple nonstop choices daily, I now see they're down to 1 early am nonstop choice a day. Not exactly the biggest deal in my life but wow. on the bright side I thoroughly enjoyed learning to book and use AA on points!

I’m right there with you. They haven’t cut back on flights in my area, but I’ve rarely even thought about flying a different airline because their RR program is so good and I don’t care about assigned seats.

But there are a ton of changes coming and I wonder how long the CP will be around. I think we’ll stick with them until that happens, but we’ve gotten a couple of AA cards and I’ve been using it for dining instead of the CSP.

I’m trying to think positive but won’t shock me if/when we switch over to AA for good.
