I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

How are you stretching to 8 or 9 months with this card? thx
DVC allows you to make payments over 60 days.

Day 0 you pay your deposit
Day 30 you pay the half the remaining
Day 60 you pay the other half of the remaining

Until very recently you could do this for 90 days with payments on 0, 30, 60. 90

So, depending on when you do your payments, and when closing statement dates begin/end you can certainly stretch it out at 0%.

In my experience I had to tell my guide this is what I wanted to do. He didn't offer or volunteer.

Worst case scenario, after the timeframe is over, you put the balance you couldn't pay off on a balance transfer card for a 3% charge for a long time. Still way cheaper than financing.

I would like DD to get a CSP and the Barclays AAdvantage Red card while both have their elevated offers. Currently she is 0/24 and these are the cards she has.

SW Priority 2/23
AMEX Gold 3/23
CIC 4/23
AMEX Business Platinum 2/24
CIP 8/24
AMEX BBP 9/24
AMEX Business Gold 10/24

If she applies for the CSP first how long should she wait to apply for the AA Red? Is there any downside to applying for both at the same time? Thanks for any thoughts.

ANyone ever stayed at Wyndham Disney springs? I was looking at booking thru portal- do they really charge a random $40.50 fee per night on top of the points? I wanna stay in WDW for 2 quick (cheap) nights this summer....it seems my cheapest option is onsite at ASsports(!) and they have free parking...but I much prefer the springs hotel location (I plan to spend some time over there) Either that or go with my old fave Holiday Inn Springs, never been charged a resort fee there yet (using points) It just feels strange that the onsite option is actually the cheapest...but it feels more off-site than the others!

It's a good lesson. I learned it the hard way. Now, if I know that a flight or hotel booked on miles/points is one that is easily canceled without a penalty or the penalty is nominal compared to the value/difficulty then I will book it right away and figure it out later before the award disappears. Once in a while I book backup trips just in case my original trip doesn't pan out for whatever reason.
aaaand I looked again today and the price dropped again.... sweet deal! I now get the perfect flight time!

Anyone cruised out of NYC? It looks like Princess will be docking in Brooklyn. I plan to fly into Newark because my mom will probably fly into Newark to visit my sister before the cruise. That way we can take an Uber back to the airport together. Looking for a good hotel recommendation. I have a ton of Hilton points. I need to decide if I fly in and stay in Brooklyn near the terminal or stay in Manhattan. I guess another option is staying by the airport and taking a Princess shuttle to the port but that doesn't seem super appealing. My mom and I wouldn't do any NYC site seeing. Probably just grab dinner and go to bed.

sails out of Red Hook, Brooklyn. less points to stay at a nj Hilton vs nyc. Then Uber to port.

No matter where you end up (sorry haven’t stayed DS hotels so can’t help) I’d book refundable and keep checking back for price drops. If WDW is freaking out* their neighbors might find themselves in the same boat.

*they’re throwing promos out there like a five alarm fire is about to hit the summer balance sheet, all is obviously not well

What I don't get is how four seasons shot up so much. When they were struggling, we went for 200-299 a night for Florida residents; now, that seems like a dream price. Same with WDW.

There's definitely become a bifurcation in the Orlando hotel market.... We will see how long the demand for the expensive hotels can stay... To me it feels like we are about to reach overcapacity on that front.

100% agreed, same room we were paying sub 300 for a staycation there (it's great) has shot up 1k dollars more every time we look, I can justify maybe 400 for a special occasion, just seems like they are doing it while they can.

I just called Chase to product change my CSP to the OG Freedom. Easy-peasy. Lowered the credit limit too. Will wait 4-5 days and reapply with DH's support over the weekend or Monday.
Is there a benefit to PC to the OG Freedom? We'll be downgrading DH CSP and trying to decide which to go to.

Yes if Chase offers 5% at warehouses you can use it at Cosco. Otherwise if you don't have a card that gets 3x on dining currently the Flex would be better but it is a MC.
Also if you don't have the Flex you could technically sign up and get the bonus all though obviously it is not very large compared to other offers.

Has anyone been in Amex popup prison for years and finally gotten a bonus? Years ago I had a Delta biz gold and biz platinum. I got the bonus and then after a year canceled the cards. On the personal side I only have an Everyday card that I never use. At times I've put spend on it trying to get another bonus but it never works. I have 131,000 MR and since I'm building up Alaska miles I was thinking of maybe waiting for a possible bonus to Hawaiian and transferring my points and then transferring to Alaska. I know that a bonus probably won't happen since Amex will likely stop transfers to Hawaiian but I can wait and see. This would be a speculative transfer as I have no immediate plans to use the points. I'm just getting annoyed having a relatively small amount of points with Amex that seemingly will never increase in a substantial way. Amex on the other hand loves DW. She has 2 biz platinums, 2 biz golds, and a BBP. She also has close to 800k MR so we could use her points for any expensive travel. I wish I could combine our points like I can with Chase.

years ago there were rumors that once in a lifetime might actually mean once in 7 years. Not sure if that is still the case.

HD bailing on Pepper as well. Good reminder to keep those Pepper points balances as close to 0 as possible folks and use any gc purchased from them asap... DoC link
All I have left from Pepper is a $5 Target gift card, which I've already added to my target account. You think I should just buy something with it?

My Amazon balance tells me I’m hopeful once it’s verified with the merchant it stays good…

Shoulda gone with Target. Target gets more of my income than Disney 🤣
