Exact same SW experience here. Booked to Montego Bay, Jamaica. No Wanna Get Away fares, and paid $517 (well, 36k RRs) each, one way. Particularly thankful we’ve got the companion pass! I’m wondering if they’ll add WGA fares later??

Ooof, sorry you guys had so much SW hassle this morning.

BWI-GCM, all of the connecting flights were Anytime and up $$$, but there was a Saturday direct for me with WGA $164.

I wonder if some of the FLL flights haven't loaded WGA yet, so those connecting there are seeing crazy prices?

These SW prices are crazy, 40k points for direct RT to PHX, no way.
Trying to price a DCL to see if we could save money on our up coming cruise but keep getting the dwarfs. Not a good travel booking day.

Something weird - was logged in to DWs Amex account and looking at the transfer bonuses when I noticed her linked Marriott account was not a number I recognized. I delinked it and checked that no points were missing, but have no idea how that linked account got in there.

Anyone ever had this happen?

I booked direct flights BWI to MSY on SW today for spring break. As others have said, they were pricey, so fingers crossed that the price drops or they run a promo I can take advantage of! My sisters are supposed to come along on this trip, but they decided to hold off on deciding to see if the flight prices drop based on how expensive they are. There were WGA available for my flight, they were just $$$!

I did a stupid thing today and joined the InterContinental Ambassador program which cost $200. Was thinking I could use the Free Weekend night that comes with it for our Boston 1 night stay before we fly to Ireland the next day (June 2023). However....there is literally not a single property (let alone InterContinental, which was my hope) available for the Free Weekend Night on that Saturday.

Anyone ever use this benefit and know if availability would change in the next 9 months? I'm not sure if I would have been able to check availability before joining, but admittedly I didn't even try.

EDIT: Yeah, I really screwed up -- I believe you have to book 2 nights to get the free night.

Just used plastiq for the first time yesterday to meet most of the spend required on my new CIU. Thinking about using while we're paying off our HELOC over the next 5 or so months. I understand that HELOC payments can't be made with Visas, so how do you find out what all cards are issued as Mastercards? I see discover counts as well too, but I don't know of any sign up bonuses that would be worth the fee it seems.

Called this morning and product changed my Brilliant to the regular Bonvoy. Call took about 5 minutes. I was a bit hesitant because I did not want to go through the retention spiel. No spiel, just service. I will get my 50K FNC. and I'm 2 days away from the annual fee posting, so there will be a $2.47 prorate. Done. Can upgrade back whenever. Easy peasy.

Booked Spring Break flights to Albuquerque today. Yikes! Sounds like even though I forgot (as usual) and didn't book when they first dropped, prices are high across the board. I am hoping they come back down and will be stalking them. I need to get the CP for 2023/2024 and in time for March 2023. That will cut some of the cost down and bring my point total back up.

Sneaky AmEx. Had an offer last year to upgrade a BCE to preferred for no AF for a year. I expected the AF to hit this month, but instead see a $14.75 membership renewal charge. Chat tells me I get a prorated fee for one month and then the full $95 next month. They also said I could downgrade it back any time. We really don't spend enough at grocery stores even with the GC I have been buying to make the AF worth it.

Where do you guys go/stay when in Costa Rica? We are now thinking we may swap Japan for Costa Rica next year (2023). My DS and BIL want to go to Europe with us, and they can't pull off accumulating all the points by next year, so that's probably not going to be the replacement for Japan at this point. Now looking into Costa Rica. If we could do flights through SW (by transferring URs), that would be helpful. The only hotels we have points with are Hilton and IHG. We would be willing to pay the hotel costs, however, if it wasn't too crazy. Do most go to Manuel Antonio area? I guess the three areas we'd be interested in visiting are Manuel Antonio, Arenal, and Monteverde Cloud Forest. Looking at a 10 day trip. Is three areas too much? How is driving in the country? Any recommendations on Costa Rica would be great!

You can try searching "Mastercard" on this site Link. Won't be perfect, but might give you some ideas.

I think most (all?) of the Barclays cards are Mastercards. Also, AA, IHG, and Citi Premier which is at a high SUB but you might need no inquiries in the last 6 months for better odds.

Question on United Flights. I booked us flights for our Europe Trip next May a few months ago on points (5 of us). My brother and SIL are going also, but flying Delta. I found a flight that works better as it would arrive in Rome about the same time they arrive. I can see the flight under $$$ but when I change to points - the flight does not even show up at all. Not even showing up and saying "not available for points". Is this normal?

Just finished the bonus for DW's CIC so of course I had to apply for another CIU for myself this morning. Got approved for a monster credit limit of $5,000. My highest so far on a Chase business card. It really doesn't matter as this is my 4th so I have a healthy credit limit I can move around between cards. I have really liked using PYB for dining on the CSR. I wasn't going to keep it after the first year but if the annual fee continues to be a part of PYB and I can keep getting business card bonuses I'll definitely keep it.

I'm waiting for my Citi Premier (80K/$4K MSR - all time highest offer) to arrive and it's a MC that I'm planning on meeting spend through Plastiq, so if you are 0/6 then that's one to consider. BoA has some MCs too, I've used biz BoAs on Plastiq for mortgage in the past and I've been lucky that my service processor counts as travel on the Customized Cash Rewards card - that is extremely YMMV though.

Same, but DH and I switch who hold the CSR each year. When you do that the AF is -$50. Use the $300 travel credit twice.

I downgraded CSP to plain Sapphire today. DH has CSP (which I'll upgrade to CSR before travel next year) and CFU x2. I have CFF already. Had them transfer all my URs to DH CSP. Was already linked DH to mine but not vice versa. Now I can see his card for future transfers.
Not impressed discover. 5% cash back at Amazon.com and Digital Wallets

I thought they normally had target in q4 or is that freedom.
I had the same thought. Last year was Target, Amazon and Walmart IIRC

I booked 2 Hyatt properties, transferred URs for much of it. Andaz Peninsula Papagayo and Los Altos, buyer beware there may be fees for more than 2 people in a room. We have been twice before but not on points. We don't rent a car but plan to use a car service for transfers. We loved Manuel Antonio and Arenal. Monteverde was slightly less impressive. We loved Tortuguero the most during turtle hatch season (October I think). Also enjoyed Cano Negro boat tour.
