I got my BF back finally, but he didn't make it in time to make my cousin's wedding Saturday. I think that was a blessing. It was outdoors and we were all miserable, Michigan humidity and 87 degrees, I was dripping in sweat and I was wearing a very thin sundress. I felt so bad for the guys in suits!

I just paid off my IHG premeir. I plan on calling to cancel today. I don't lose the FNC I already have in my IHG account, right? I haven't used the 2 I have yet. They don't expire till next year, but I don't want to lose them.

I think there was someone who booked their marriott FNC cancelled and got reissued new expiration dates. Was it one night? Or multiple nights? My free nights expire on 1/16. So I really need to figure out how to use these :(

Has anyone used the Amex Best Buy offer, spend $100 get $10 back, on e-gift cards? It specifically states that as an exclusion, but I know sometimes it works. Anyone had success in getting credit?

You keep all FNCs upon closing the account (sometimes a rep will tell you otherwise, but its not true).

Oh, I'm so very sorry:(

And when I was first divorced and refinanced my mortgage on my old house, I had to have my dad co-sign. I sometimes receive mail addressed to him at my new house because of that (I think) including mail from cremation places. Ugh, no. My WASPy Connecticut upbringing does not allow me to think of such things while the living are still alive!

I get trash mail addressed to my Ex's second wife and her daughter. If I google myself, she comes up as a contact, and I don't think she took his last name. Weird, either that or they were signing up for stuff and using my address, but I don't think so.

I don't want to think of it either and the right things are in place already so I don't have to dwell on it.

I did one instore. Just looked and I got the $10. But if Amex says don't do it and I have another option, I'm following their rules. They are just too likely to mess with you for my taste.

Does Hilton prorate AF refunds like Chase? My HH Surpass AF just posted, and I pretty much only use the dining credit each month. I should probably just suck it up and pay the AF to make AMEX happy, but If I wait to close the account early next year (assuming that no other benefits come out,) will I get anything back?

I know there was a lot of talk awhile back about Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC. I copied it into my future trips folder, but I have a couple questions. Is the first week of November a bad time to go? Is it too late into the season? Also, could you spend an entire week (including both weekends) there, or is it a better long weekend type trip?

DH and I were going to take a cruise that week, but I'm just thinking the Covid restrictions are going to be more than we want to deal with at that time still, so we're looking for an alternative and I've always wanted to go to Savannah/Charleston.

Thanks for any advice / options!

First week of November is likely to still have very mild temps (think 50-60s), but I wouldn't go to the beach to swim! For us, both Charleston and Savannah are just weekend/long weekend trips, but depending on what you're interested in, I'm sure you could find lots to do if you tour some of the houses, historical sites, etc.

a couple of years ago I learned about that 'skunk smell' when we got new neighbors....the first couple of times I smelled it wafting thru the treeline, I kept asking my family about the skunks.... :rotfl2: Now I'm smelling it almost everywhere I go and I've been educated (thanks neighbors) - the mom would come home from work, the garage door would open....and man is that stuff pungent!
Apparently I live in a more traditional neighborhood. I can smell pot, the "old fashioned" kind I knew from college from a neighbor though I don't know which one. Is it the 60-70 yo retired guy, or the 30 something who works from home? :confused3 I know from experience we have the real deal skunks, because my stupid dog chases them 🤦‍♀️ In fact, my mom is dog sitting and let the dogs out at 5 am today and my dumb dog got sprayed. Unless she's been smoking ...🤨

I’ll have to admit I have no idea what the old fashioned kind smells like so @Judique can you find an article on that :)

We're at WDW now. The parks are not that busy but lines are longer without Fastpasses. The heat is horrendous. I'll take 50 Chicago winters before I come to Florida in summer again. Bad decision on my part.
We did spend 3 nights at Hilton Tuscany Village and now at Swan. I'll,post pics and a mini review for those doing the timeshare presentation after we return home.
We've had some bad luck with rides too. We were on Expedition Everest on the first climb when it stopped, stuck in blazing sun for 10 minutes before it started running again. Today, on ROTR we were boarding group 64. Ride went down twice, we were finally called around 3 pm, got partway through before it went down again. They gave us a 'fastpass' for later but must be used today. When we came out of ROTR, it was raining. Ended up walking back to Swan in rain since boats weren't running. Yay

Gross, it all smells gross. I don't know that I've ever smelled the skunk kind, or at least not where I'd know it wasn't actually a skunk. It's even worse when it gets mixed with incense, which I also don't like, doesn't matter the scent it's all gross. I don't miss the smells from the college dorms at all.

But really it smells like pot, no idea what else it smells like.

I would product change your CSP to the Freedom Unlimited card so that you have a card that offers 1.5x UR on non-category spending. It also has the new 3x categories on dining and drug stores. You might also consider changing your Freedom to the Freedom Flex -- same 5% rotating categories, but also has the 3x on dining and drug stores (in case you forgot to bring your CFU or choose not to PC to that product).
Any Chase Freedom product, including the old 'Chase Freedom' that you can't app for because it is no longer offered, the Freedom Flex and the Freedom Unlimited. Keep a healthy amount of available credit on it in the event you need to change it back to CSP or even into a CSR. And, you can hold more than one Chase Freedom, which works nicely if you value the 5% categories and just want to apply for the others and get the SUB and other perks.

Note: Your Chase Freedom card is the only one in your list that I wouldn't close and churn again under current rules.
Thank you for your help!
Two questions about product changes.
1) is there any way for me to use one of the Reddit referral links to give someone credit for the referral doing a product change?
2) can/do I still qualify for the current SUB for the Chase Freedoms if I’m doing a product change?

1) no support links when u downgrade/upgrade. No sub either.
2) yes, SUB is usually tied to account opening, however you cant app for the Chase Freedom atm. only Chase Freedom Unlimited and Chase Freedom Flex.

note: rules are different on either card platform, ie Amex, these answers dont apply to amex.

We’ll be there Wednesday but only for two nights. We’ll be at boardwalk and I’m not sure we’re going in the parks at all
