So I just sat down and wrote out the mess in my head, LOL. I think the Venmo option makes trying for a CIU an option, LOL. I'd try for a CIC, but I already have that (PCd from the CIP in March). I haven't had a chase card since 1/2021, so I'm okay, right? I PCd a CIP to a CIC in Feb/March, but that doesn't affect a new app, right? Is the spacing recommended w/ Chase 3 months?
I wrote out my game plan for now. And I think it might work out.....but I'm sure something will throw a wrench in that, or there will be some great new offer! I'm trying to get over the FOMO on the 140k the MDD is giving. But even if they go to the recent lows, I'm looking at 110K in the fall when I try for the MDD. And with this plan I get the 75k URs with the CIC, so I actually come out ahead.
And with a focus on Chase cards till fall, I won't be upset Amex has me blocked out, LOL.
Current plan
Now - CIU
July - Churn the IHG Premier (hope the offer is decent then)
Fall - MDD (before my AF posts for the CSR)
Then I'll be over 5/24 for awhile, LOL. So I hope in 2022 Amex doesn't hate me! Otherwise, I guess it'll be AA cards I focus on.
I think that’s a good plan. Don’t forget to keep spending on your Amex cards, maybe change their mind and give you a card or two.
It looks a little close to me. Even if you do the IHG at the end of July, that's only 2 months from the CIU. Then if you do the MDD in November, that's 3 months from the ING. It's better if the period before the MDD is quieter. It may turn out fine, but I tend to be more risk adverse with Chase.
That's what I was wondering. If I might be running a little close. I guess I'll see. Step 1 is to drop some credit limits. What's the CSR minimum? And what's the recommended amount again?
What would you drop for limits, and does the CIC count too?
CIC - $6k
Freedom - $5k
CSR - $17.5k
IHG Premier - $8k
Bonvoy - $8.5K
IHG Traveler - $6k
I report $85k income when I apply, and about $5k for business income. This will be for the CIU. I'm thinking I will drop the limit on the Bonvoy, as I don't see a lot to any spend going on that one. Should I drop multiple? I do carry $4k on a 0% credit card w/ BOA (that will be paid off in the fall) so I wanna make sure not to hear my utilization too much, LOL

do u really need 17.5k on your csr?
So if my math is right - you have $51k in chase credit lines. I would look to get that down to under $40k before churning the IHG, and probably reduced further towards $30k before attempting the MDD.
Only you can decide what limits you need on each card, particularly with your concerns on utilization...but if it were me I would go for the suggestions above. That would wipe $25k off your chase lines and put you in much better shape for future apps.
Thank you! That was totally what I was looking for. I think to start I will for sure drop the Bonvoy, and the IHG Traveler to $2k/ea. Those won't see much spending.
Dropping a bunch of CL's with Chase doesn't hurt, right? I mean I'll likely go for the CIU this week.

It shouldn't hurt, unless it does something wacky to utilization. I have often reduced 2 or 3 credit lines in the days before a new app.
Just checked my Chase Website for CSP. Shows I have 98,xxx points pending. So, that would be 80,000 for SUB and 15,000 for Referral - even though it is not showing the referral anywhere. It must be included in this total. ( I referred my neighbor). So that is good!!
Someone just used my support link for the first time about 3 weeks ago and was immediately approved. They received the card a week later and have had some spending on it now. Today is the first time the pending points showed on my UR page. It seems like I have seen others report that it updates once a week on Wednesdays. How do you see pending points. My brother used my wife's support link for the CSP last Friday but I haven't seen any points pending or otherwise yet. I created the link from the Chase app so I assume it was correct but I've never supported someone before so I'm not sure.
Well I SM'd to do 2 of them. Which frees up $10k. I think I'll pick one more to do, and then try applying later this week!
