Everyone in this thread seems to be a parent...please tell me that I'm going to survive this episode of cutting the paci cord with my 15 month old! He's currently fighting his nap and crying his head off. Torturous! I even invested in the FridaBaby Paci Weaning System and the kid is too smart for his own good. Realized it wasn't a normal paci in 2 seconds and tossed it aside. I'm only on stage 1 of the system!

I don’t have any advice but I know we’ll be in that same position down the road. Ds is almost 10 months and has to sleep with a pacifier. We try not to use one when he isn’t sleeping but for naps and stuff it calms him so quickly

We didn't break DD of the paci until she was 2yo and easily bribed with a 'big girl' toy. She packed them all into a box to be 'given to another baby who needs them'. She had already stopped napping by then. She cried 15 min the first night, 5 min the second, 30 sec off and on for week after that.

Our son otoh came home from the orphanage a thumb-sucker and still is 11 years later. We tried to get him onto a paci bc they are so much easier to wean, but he wouldn't have any of it. Lots of special needs, but at 13 we are finally breaking him of the thumb.

This too shall pass. :thumbsup2

He only uses it for naps and night sleep too. We starting cutting back on his first birthday but this final leap is so hard. It's so sad to hear him crying. He finally fell asleep for his nap. Can't wait for tonight lol.

My kids didn't use paci's,just nursed. Most babies seem to have that sucking need well beyond 15 months, IMHO it's too early(?) I figure bottles/nursing/paci's are something that you phase out at around 2 or so.... kind of like switching them to sippy cup vs. a bottle kind of thing? I realize it's just my opinion here... Around the age of 2, they're walking/talking and less dependent on that sucking need....

My CL have all been lowered so that it makes up maybe 20% of total income. I think I’m just going to call because what is there to lose, I just don’t know what to say my reasons are for wanting this card when I have two other biz cards already that I barely use.
I would call and recon- you already have the credit hit from the application. Best of luck!

My youngest is 25, so I have no recollection of how we got rid of the pacifiers. But we did LOL, they don't use them now. But they were both addicted to them when they were little.

I wasn't going to say a word until you broke the ice!

We were told to toss the pacifiers at 6 months. And the bottle went at 1 year, along with the formula.

I just did what my doctors told me. (And today it seems that every professional has a differing opinion.)

It didn't take long before things sorted out. They never had a bottle in the crib because FIL who was a dentist said that the formula would pool in their mouth and cause tooth decay. Not giving advice here, just repeating my indoctrination, lol!

I 'think' that getting rid of the pacifiers earlier was easier long term, although FIL was good with them. He said 'better than a thumb or a bottle' as those two were more likely to cause mouth damage.

Anyway - good luck with all that! It will work out between you and your babies. Sometimes it just takes a while which can feel like an eternity.

I know mine used them till at least 2, for sleeping only. Once they walked, they only had them at night. But we took ds to Disney right after he turned two, and I remember, he either lost one at the airport or we forgot, but we had to stop and buy some at the store. He had only used the preemie ones he got in the NICU when he was born, so we were worried he wouldn't sleep with a new completely different style, but he did.

Don't remember the exact age but we first told DD she could only use the paci at home, not when we were out. She accepted that. After awhile, we said you only need that to go to sleep which she also accepted. Finally, I remember we told her she wouldn't need it anymore when she turned 2. She didn't say much. Incredibly, on her birthday, she handed it to me and said "Here, I don't need it anymore." :yay: It was great - zero stress!!

I didn't try weaning my son off. I figured it is fulfilling a need of his for comfort. One day shortly after he turned 2, he just dropped it and didn't pick it back up.

Oh man I’m sorry 😕 I’m not excited to get rid of it. We’re going through teething right now. It’s been almost 3 weeks. He cries so much

At his first year checkup, the ped told us to get him off bottles and paci. I was able to successfully do the bottle/sippy cup transition at a year old but paci is more difficult. Got him down to sleep times only now. Heard it will be harder to do when he gets older.
We started sippy cups around 6 months and he uses those. We will probably be like you and try to get rid of the pacifier at a year. Not sure how it’ll go. I have two friends with babies that are 14 and 16 months. Both of them use pacifiers a lot still

Still debating on whether or not to call recon on my denied CIC app. I applied on 2/4 and was denied with these reasons- You have too many active accounts or too much available credit, Too many recent requests for credit, Credit report shows too many recently opened accounts, New Chase business card recently opened. My last Chase biz account was opened in 4/20 and one before that in 1/20. Credit score 811. Anyone feel like it’s worth my time calling? I’m also concerned about future approvals at this point since I’m under 5/24 and it had been 10 months since my last chase biz app and I had a 90 period with no account inquiries from anyone. I used ebay sales for the business. Any thoughts?
I am in almost your exact situation except that my business is different. I just shared more details on r/dischurners, "What Card Should I Get Next." I called recon and was denied for the same reasons you were given.

I don't know if I can give you advice, though. You could get lucky with recon, and the phone call wasn't that difficult. They did ask me about the several CIP's I received between 3/19 and 4/20, and I did not have a good explanation. It seemed clear that they were looking at all new cards and credit inquiries over the last 24 months, and I had quite a few prior to 4/20.

Now that the new card is in hand, I am ready to pay my taxes.

Checked and PayUSATax is 1.96% fee, 1040Pay is 1.99%, IRS site states 1.96% fee. Looks like 1.96% wins. Any other cheaper options? I don't see a free option on IRS for my income level.
There are no cheaper options if paying by credit card.

Maybe he’s too young? We waited until DD was 21 months, took her to build a bear and put the paci in there.

I still have my AP refund sitting on a closed Amex... I believe two billing statements have closed since the refund posted.

I was thinking they would have cut and sent a check by now... think I should message them or continue to wait?
