Good morning. I have the Disney credit card with the annual fee (I think it’s $50) with 2% points back on groceries. Two questions, please. 1) Is there a way to change the 2% to apply to lodging? We are planning to rent a home at the beach for a week. 2) I only wanted to keep this version of the Disney credit card for a year, so is there a way to go back to the “free“ Disney credit card? I understand that it only receives 1% in points on all purchases. I’ve checked out the Chase website, it cannot find these answers. Thank you!
You can change the Disney card to the no fee card by calling Chase.

Like others, my Amex MF credit posted this morning, but I still don't have anything showing for Chase. Is there where you look for that?

I did get the email, but nothing has ever showed here for my card.

I see mine when I click on “earn more” ..then..“shop through chase”...then “my shopping details”

Amex credits are a mess. I got my paypal credits (made purchases 2/7). But then I got double airline credit on my Platinum. I had been reimbursed for the SW $5.60 fee plus the $76 ticket I purchased 1/29. Then they credited it again yesterday.

I've had that happen with an Amex offer that straddled the end of a month. Still waiting for them to take it back.

So this is sort of a "least favorite" card here. I know that seems strange on a Disney message board but we're primarily chasing larger card bonuses and ones that offer better benefits. Just pointing that out since if you stick around here you might find yourself opening some new cards haha.

You cannot change what this card earns on. 2% on Groceries is the benefit. There are a number of cards out there that earn different multipliers in other categories though.

Product Changing your card to the no AF version is easy - just call and ask. As long as your card has been open for over a year, they should do it with no problems.

Thank you. I understand! Really appreciate the info. Since we’ve been home a lot, my grocery bill is higher than usual, so at least that’s something. I should read this thread more to check out other cards. It’s just easier to convince my husband to visit Disney if we have money toward that. It’s a matter of knowing my audience LOL.

You should hang out here more often - it's the friendliest place on the DIS :D

Do you guys drive or fly to Disney?

What is the consensus on keeping no AF cards that you no longer use or need and have had for several years?
Depends on your strategy and the issuer.

American Express has a 4 or 5 card limit depending on how their feeling this season (haha) so those often get canceled. Chase has no limit (at least not one any of us have found yet) so most keep those open to continue building their AAoA on the credit report. Many will also reduce their CLs on cards they no longer use OR shift that CL to another card that gets more usage.

My rule of thumb is that I NEVER close a card unless I have a specific reason why I need to. I've regretted closing cards in the past so I learned this lesson well haha.

Same with my DHs MF purchase on 1/29, while my 1/28 URs posted in 2 days.
Going to cancel his MF if the URs don’t post by tomorrow
I didn’t sign up for one for my DH so I am going to keep it anyways even if I don’t get the URs - since I did get the Amex credit. I don’t blame you for canceling your DHs since you have one already.
