I love credit cards so much! v4.0 - 2021 (see first page for add'l details)

Hi All, I have a couple questions (I tried to look for answers on this thread but didn't see it):
1) Hyatt Mattress Run - I got the regular stays. When will the bonus stays be posted and also the points back?
2) Amex Personal Plat - I did the Best Buy, Home Chef and Wine Insiders offers but I didn't get an email to say that I used the offer. Now I'm worried. Did this happen to anyone else but still got credit?
3) Delta Airlines - The flights I booked for April went down by $80 per person. With no change fees, is it okay to just cancel the flights and rebook? Anyone know if it goes into a voucher or does it get refunded?
TIA!

1. It took about 5 days for my bonus nights to show up. Still waiting on points (8 days so far).

Can I apply for a United explorer card and then apply for the CIP? Or should I wait any time between cards? I want to make sure I have enough points to book flights soon from Houston to Germany (planning a May trip).

The general rule of thumb is to space out Chase apps by 3 months. If you do get them closer, you'll want to space out any subsequent card even more. Is your DH willing to get cards? You can transfer UR within the same household.

Just thinking ahead, but if I transfer UR rewards to United Airlines and then trip gets cancelled, do the points have to stay with United?

If you app for a Chase biz card and are denied, you can immediately app for a personal card, correct?

correct. but only if u failed at recon for the biz card. u always want to push your biz cards first before u app for a personal card. i have seen some ppl jump the gun and is denied their biz card due to their personal card app.

DH has a United Explorer. I plan to get him the CIP after I meet the spend so he can then meet the spend with biz expenses.

I wouldn't be surprised if our group here suddenly started to have A LOT more off-site stays due to how easy it is for all of us to earn various points that do nothing as it relates to WDW on site trips.
I have been considering the Hilton properties for quite a while because of points. This may be the push I need to finally stay off site.

DH and I were approved for personal cards about 5 days after Biz denials last Spring

OK - I finally read the Marriott email and understand this ridiculous marketing pitch...

One more exciting benefit: Save up to 40% on standard redemption pricing by booking Off-Peak rates by February 21, 2021.

So it's up to 40% off of the "Standard" points required. I should've figured this out earlier... So this is truly just a 10% off of off-peak promotion... but MAYBE every night is now considered off peak??

Somebody REALLY took liberties with the marketing speak there to make this sound amazing. I mean, I did save the equivalent of $80-$100 in Marriott points by rebooking my Swan stay though so I can't complain 😂😂

Oh and by the way, it seems like this might be active now AND it's really easy to rebook your Marriott reservation and the points get credited back instantly. I'm not sure if you can book these for future stays, and if so, how far out... but it might be worth locking in some potential future trips if that's of interest to you (if it works that way).

I was just approved for the CIC yesterday, but I also want the Chase Freedom Flex before the grocery offer goes away. It's not a big deal if I don't get it now, but I like the 5% grocery offer.
Can you apply for a Chase personal card a few days after being approved for a Chase business card? Or does the 3-month wait come into play here too?

IF your pacing has been good recently it is a very small risk to do it. I’d probably go for it IF that’s the case.

Congrats party: On the approval

correct, UR points only goes one way. The one way around this is when u book UA flights on the portal, then u may have a chance to get it back in UR points.

When I booked United flights through the UR portal last spring and had to cancel them in October, they became an e-cert for me to use with United (did NOT go to my travel bank or back to URs). I do get 2 years to use the e-certs though.

I'll be following your planning for any tips! My son wants to go to Africa in lieu of a large party for his bar mitzvah in a few years. (That's my boy!).

We went to Tanzania on our honeymoon through Abrocrombe and Kent, but it was 14+ years ago. It was an amazing trip, but $$$. I have a feeling you could find a similarly great experience for less. It was a different world for travel planning back then (less internet-available info).
Oh wow, I bet that was amazing! AK is a such a legendary safari company. I checked out their site before asking on here and their options are way out of my budget.:) @PaintsWithAllTheColors suggested Red Africa in South Africa and they seem to be very good budget friendly option. This is a HS grad trip to my nephew so I'm not looking for anything fancy/romantic. I'm now leaning toward SA for this trip and then maybe a future bucket list trip to do Giraffe Manor, the Masai Mara and a gorilla trek in Rwanda or Uganda.

Would love to hear about your stay at Swan when you return. I’ve been considering Swan, and have heard great things historically, but curious about Covid times.

Just to clarify - did you cancel the flight or did UA cancel the flight?

Thinking ahead....DH’s CSR statement closed on the first of the month, which means his travel credit should reset 6/2... I plan to use the $300 towards our Disney resort reservation and downgrade to the CF as soon as the credit posts. We leave for Amsterdam (🤞) 6/25 so I would like for him to do a MDD CSR/CSP. How many days would we have to wait after the downgrade to apply? We want to make sure to get his new priority card befor our trip.

it didnt matter for my friends who cancelled. i saw it both ways but majority was friend canceled the flight. Portal CSR usually try to tell u to get airline to cancel but after many insistence and declines, UR was returned. annoying but it works.

DH and I are staying at a Hyatt in Key West from Feb 28-March 5th on points. Their 25% promotion ends on Feb 28th :( - I guess it would be strange (if I even could), to book it in two reservations so I would get the 25% of the points back and free parking on one night? Not sure they would even let me do this?? The rooms are 25,000 points/night, so it's a decent number of points I'd be saving if I was able to do this.
