Where are you? Did I miss a post? I was thinking of going away for a couple days next week and the beach looks gorgeous. I was thinking West Virginia, but these pictures may make me reconsider. Is this Ocean City and Assateague?

Ocean City at the Hyatt and the horses at Assateague.

Here's a couple of beach shots for you. All are early morning before 7am, this morning, except the bird, took that Saturday morning. I don't usually do hot sun. Weekend had plenty people, but the beach is pretty wide and the people on the beach during the airshow were well separated. This morning I left at 10:00am, and there was hardly anyone out there - a Monday morning. The evening news does a beach shot every afternoon (live cam) and it was pretty empty. The weather was glorious when I was leaving. Not humid but warm and plenty of sun. I almost booked another night and stayed. I stay 14th Street to 17th Street area Hyatt, Courtyard, Holiday Inn, or midtown on the Bay at either Residence Inn or Aloft. All of these are decent, but it's a beach town. I almost never go down to the Inlet where the most people are.

From the Boardwalk standing near the Hyatt:

$20 off Door Dash pickup orders starts today. DS and I are having Five Guys for dinner for $2. I've been really careful about what I've been eating so one cheeseburger shouldn't kill me:)

Which card has that deal? Home cooking is getting old around here, and I must have missed the info on how to find this one.

It's a DoorDash deal for this week. The code is on DOC but it also populated automatically on mine. We got Red Robin on my account. Probably will use DH's tomorrow.

i believe that deal requires you to have dashpass... 1 year offer of dashpass if u have a CSR. CSP, Freedom and CFU have like a 3 month pass.

I used to use our Uber Eats credit on Five Guys but then they kept canceling my orders. My major complaint with these sites is that what's available is constantly changing and I get a lot of cancelled Uber Eats Orders (Blaze Pizza and Five Guys). Grub Hub used to have Chick Fil A but then it was always closed. But DD works at Chick Fil A and her Chick Fil A definitely does Grub Hub orders so I guess I need to look into that again (since she doesn't get a family discount:(
My oldest worked at CFA for 9 mos and they didn't give a fam discount either - I'm not sure if this varies by location since they are individually owned. My dd got a meal up to, I think, $7 value for every 5+ hour shift she worked. Certainly a nice perk but I had hoped there was a CFA discount i could use for our family. Nope.

I'm so annoyed with the Amex pop-up. I tried app'ing for my dh the Gold today from my link using the new 60k offer. Pop-up appeared. My dh has had 5 total Amex cards in his entire life and hasn't had a new amex in over a year. Three of his cards are still open and 2 of those 3 have 1k spend put on them every month and have for many months. We aren't cancelling them and don't plan to. The 2 of the 5 he cancelled was an Amex SPG and and a Green biz. Amex should be tolerant of the SPG card cancellations because of the change to that program. The Green biz is a useless card and Amex knows that. I actually like my Gold card and may keep it, depending on the retention bonus, but my dh is getting the pop-up. So, so annoying...

The one closer to us gives 50% off for meals for family and friends and 25% off catering (not that I have anything to be catered). They also have the front of house workers in jeans and white chick fil a t-shirts since everyone is outside. DD is in the traditional uniform (black pants and red polo) and no discount--I joke that she's working at the wrong one. But she does get a meal if she's there 5+ hours. And she's making friends and seems to like it now (after begging us to let her quit after one day in the kitchen) so I'm a happy mom!

So it does vary...my dd always was in the traditional uniform too, even when in the heat of summer outside taking orders. We have 3 CFA’s within 5 miles and they all only have the traditional uniform. And all still closed for dine in but the drive through lines are nuts. I know our closest one has had to build a new line so it’s now a double that wraps around the building twice lol. And at all hours. Just amazing!
That’s great your dd is liking it. Mine did not but I think she worked at the ‘wrong’ one. She had friends at other ones and the mgmt seemed better at their stores.

It all depends on the franchisee. Some of them are great, some of them are horrible. Many years ago when I worked at a corporate owned McDonald's, we got all of our food at half price and a card that could be used by anybody at any corporate McDonald's in the state 5 times per month. When I was a GM of a pizza place I would give my employees half off on any order they made for pick up, and on delivery if we were slow and they took care of the driver. Only had a couple I had to cut off for not tipping.

I'm getting antsy waiting for my refinance to close. Haven't had a new card since March. I'm think it's time for the CS Platinum. Next would be the Business Platinum.

And I'm getting so lazy working from home. We had a call today with a client in Asia so we had to do it at 8am. Between getting up an hour early and having to throw on a dress, I'm ready to call it a day:)

Have you signed up for the APP and the points? Both of us have the APP and we mostly funnel all our orders through daughters, but if I'm out by myself, I use mine. Daughter ends up with lots of free sandwiches. (We share.)

I'm trying to wait until later in the year for my next Chase ap to try to make it more viable.

Daughter is getting sort of lazy with her job also. But - she gets it done, no problem there. I'm just pretty old fashioned and expect that if a person is getting paid, they should be in 'on duty' mode. So, even though her work set up is in the alcove attached to her bedroom, I figure she should get up and be presentable during work hours. I also keep this opinion to myself, lol.

Other daughter can't stand work from home. She wants to be in the office environment.

You are a good mom! And I definitely get it done too--just sometimes with wet hair, joggers, and nike t-shirts:)

I'm just grateful that she is still living here with me and know that she has many options if she chooses to go. It probably works because she's mostly upstairs with her own complete area, and I rarely go near it and give her privacy. She no longer needs Mom looking over her shoulder.

But, as I get older, if she does buy her own house and moves, I really won't like being completely on my own and will probably make my own changes. For now, we seem to be okay, but others looking in have made the 'when is she getting her own place' comments. In reality, this may become her own place, but time will tell.

Granted I work in construction so the dress code is all over the place in the office but I know most that are working at home aren't dressing like they would at work. And forget the quarantine hair and no one that I've seen, myself included, is putting makeup on. Why should I when I rarely have a video call and even when I do, are you really looking that close. Plus my room gets afternoon sun and it gets so much warmer than the rest of the house. I really don't care as I'm getting my work done which is all that matters. It's been slow and a co-worker has taken quarantine to clean and organize her closests, at least I'm at my "desk" (it's a table) most of the day.

I do use the app! I don’t eat there as much as when my dd worked there but definitely go there more than any other fast food 😊

I made a speculative 'maybe we will get to travel by January' booking: 5 nights, 220k points, in a 2 bedroom Marriott Waiohai Beach club. It's the only reasonably priced 2 bedroom I have ever seen--not sure if it's fluke, cancellations, or if it can always be found. I personally have never had luck finding vacation club availability. I felt like I had struck gold. I kept trying to impress upon my friends and husband how much of a unicorn this was. LOL! We have never done Kauai and will be ditching the little peeps. I am considering using some AA points to cover a stay on the North shore for 2-3 nights before we check in.

It is so hard planning out 2021 vacations when we still have a 2020 trip in limbo (and non refundable thru VRBO) that may get pushed into 2021.

I'm in the office three days a week now and I refuse to put anything more than mascara on. I use to do a full face of makeup, but I'm not putting on foundation and blush for a mask to cover half my face. I haven't had foundation on since March!

I've had full makeup on the 3 days I went in to work and a couple of days with just mascara to look a little more alive when I left the house. Will prob do it Sat when I finally get my hair done. Needed to find a new place again and found one with good reviewa that only has 3 chairs and 3 stylists so I'm comfortable with that.

Surprisingly there's more women where I work now that wear makeup everyday in the office than at my old job at the pharmacy corp office. And even being able to wear jeans daily if we want, people dress better too than the biz casual code at the pharm. So weird.
