Interesting. When I called to cancel our Spring Break trip, they said I could rebook by 12/31/2020 without the insurance or 4/1/2021 if I used the insurance. I ended up using the insurance for the later dates. I still have our Italy flights to cancel but I am waiting until closer to June. The Delta credits just keeping accumulating!
hmm.... I wonder if I heard her wrong, we plan to use it over Thanksgiving break and surprise our girls with a trip to USO - we'll just use it to book 1 night hotel and park tickets.

I was kind of trying to pack light just because of everything going on. The less to take in the better because once we’re in we can’t leave and come back. I’ll have to just make do with their pillows and towels. It’s not ideal but it works
Do you have a breastfeeding pillow? Definitely bring that as trying to learn how to breastfeed with the limp hospital pillows makes the already incredible hard journey all the more harder. Some use a boppy, but I have found the my breast friend to be the best for positioning the baby correctly. Once I got the hang of it, I could do it with any pillow or without, but when you are learning something to prop up the baby is essential. If you have one definitely bring it, as those first couple of days are really important for getting your milk supply going.

Working on booking flights for our August Disney trip (think all of the positive thoughts with me)...just need someone to confirm for me that when flying southwest with a lap infant we just need to take said baby and their birth certificate to the counter for a boarding pass???? I was planning on using our frontier credits for the return flight but the only flight they have that day has a layover in Denver. Yes. From Florida to Colorado to Michigan. 🤦🏻‍♀️
Yes, you will need proof of baby’s age if flying as a lap infant. So an official birth certificate or a passport will work. Their website says birth certificate and no mention of passport, but the agent I talked to at check in confirmed that a passport works, too.

I always looked at the 25# bags longingly - they are cheap compared to the 5# bags, but never bought one until there was no flour in any of the stores (you can now find the 5# bags in most supermarkets near me again). But since we got through the first 25# pretty easily, and we are going to be home until at least May 20 around here, I went for a second 25#!
:rotfl:

I went through Costco and saw the 25 # bag sometime in March before vacation. I knew my flour was low. Was a little apprehensive as recently we rarely buy even 10 #'s at a time, so didn't buy it. Then we got to baking and the small amount has been used up very quickly.

Fortunately, on my last Costco run I found 2 of the 10# Gold Medal all purpose that are wrapped in plastic together so I quickly scooped them up. I don't even know how much they cost. For two of us 20 pounds is okay as we rarely have to double any recipes, more like half them.

I didn't know what a boppy was until first grand was born. But I spent the $40 and got one for daughter. Loved to use it to prop up baby!

No I don’t have a breast feeding pillow. I know they give us a boppy in our “starter kit” along with a onesie and some other stuff. I just looked at a breast friend the other day but didn’t end up buying it. I may get one but probably not before we get to the hospital.

As a breastfeeding educator I do love the boppy. However, when I see a one of my moms use one to prop a baby, I convey the story one of the ER nurses shared in our Pediatric Advanced Life Support class about the only time he had to do CPR on an infant. The infant was propped up in a boppy, slid down and was unable to maintain his airway. Propping is fine and the boppy works well if you have/keep eyes on the baby.

Amazingly, many of us breastfed our babies successfully before the boppy was invented. Just sayin. There are a lot of convenience items that the marketers want to make you think you have to have!
Trust your gut and follow your instincts. Only you know what's right for you and your family! So excited for you!

+1 on this. The Boppy didn't work well for me at all. My Brest Friend stays in place so much better. Liked it so much I even got the inflatable travel version, lol.

Yep, you can totally breastfeed without one! Totally a convenience item. But when you are exhausted and struggling as a new breastfeeding mom, those convenience items become life savers. Everyone gets to decide what they want to use and what works for them. For some, breastfeeding is extremely easy, others not so much. Anything to make the journey a little easier will sometimes make a difference in a struggling breastfeeding mom successfully making it through breastfeeding and not throwing in the towel. I was not trying to make @Haley R feel like she must have the pillow to breastfeed, just trying to pay it forward on some advice I received that made all the difference. With my first I spent the 2 days in the hospital struggling with getting a good latch and learning the different breast feeding holds and techniques. As soon as I started using the breast friend pillow, it made all the difference.

I called to ask about extensions about the one I have expiring in March. I was told they aren't offering extensions but that I didn't have to use the voucher by March, I just had to make a future booking by March. Doesn't hurt to call and ask what the options are.
The one they are issuing me doesn't expire until 12/31/2021, I'm not sure about already issued vouchers.
Thanks, I'll give them a call and see what they say. It's been really sad these past couple of weeks as I dismantle our WDW trip even though I've known for awhile we won't be going.

I had a boppy but didn't use it much, I really didn't see what the big deal about it was. I never had the other pillow either, I just used regular bed pillows but to each their own! Oh, I had a diaper genie but didn't use it much either, we just used Target bags. Now, the bouncer on the other hand, I loved with all 3 of my kids! I could keep the baby in it and go downstairs and work out, take them in the bathroom while I took a shower, in the kitchen with me to make dinner, wherever!

I've never been asked to provide proof of age with a lap infant, but I always take a copy of my kids' birth certificates when we travel just in case we ever need them.

Some cc news... DS who applied for his first CIP started out with the 7-10 day message, changed to 2 weeks, then back to 7-10 days. Today it’s back to 2 weeks so hoping that’s good news. He was asked for additional info twice.

Do you mind telling us what additional info they asked for? He applied as a sole peop right?

I appreciate any advice honestly. I’ve never done this and it’s different for everyone so having a range of options to try is good in case one doesn’t work. I was hoping to mostly do the lay back breastfeeding position where he lays on top. At our birthing class they said that’s the easiest since he doesn’t have to fight gravity to feed. It may or may not work out for me

We bought a diaper genie (different brand) and plan to just use trash bags when the bags that came with it run out. We didn’t get a bouncer but we bought the fisher price vibrating rocking chair. We’ll see how it works for him

He received a letter asking for proof of his name and address. He faxed a copy of his DL and passport. That’s when it first changed to 2 weeks. Then a day or so later the message changed back to 7-10 days followed by a letter asking for proof of the “business” name and address. The toughest thing was proof of business name because they said DL, passport, etc wouldn’t work and the documents to support that were nothing he had. It was things like articles of incorporation or
Fictitious business name papers or something like that. I can’t remember exactly. We did some research and I eventually found tips I think on FT that said if they ask for that to send a letter confirming that you are applying with your full legal name as the name of the business and to please accept your personal ID as record of your business name. So we did that and faxed it in and now 2 days later message is back to two weeks. For the business he sells Pokémon cards among other things mostly on eBay but also a few other places so used that with not much income reported.
