I've noticed that of all the credit card bills I pay with Serve Chase takes the longest to post. I paid one on 1/25 and it just posted today, so five days. But one paid on 1/25 also posted today. So still shorter than your 6 days, but I think I'd give it another day or two. @platamama did have some problems with Serve bill pay she posted on Reddit recently though. I hope yours posts shortly.
Thank you. I’ll SM Chase tomorrow morning if it still hasn’t shown up. I appreciate your feedback. I’ll take a look at that Reddit post. I’ve only used the bill pay a few times and it posted right away so this has me a bit on edge.

Hmm...that's true. If sometime down the road, way past MSR period, I wouldn't be able to make up the spend. But then I should have used my CSR for 3x travel. So still kicking myself. 😆 Only comfort is that maybe I'm keeping Amex happy, lol.
Wait didn’t you say it was refundable? cancel and rebook with the card you want to use.

Hilton is what I got my only pop up on and I do have a long 20 year history with Amex with 4 credit cards and 1 charge card. But, TBH I also have what in my own opinion is too many open cards and 200K of credit over all, but I never miss a payment, carry no balances and really try to use my Amex cards in the hope that at the end of this year I can get a couple of cards I want.

This is what has me concerned. I need hilton points so one or more is on my radar though I was thinking a.hilton and mr card would be best but I've no idea what order to do them in. I didn't want to do hilton until sept since we'll be going sept 2021 so the bene's would be there with one af. But that puts an mr card before that one. I only have dl biz and only use it for offers. Had planned on putting spend on hyatt now that I'm without an msr since I need those.but I guess I'd better use my dl even though I don't need them for this trip.

Any thoughts on if I should do hilton first or mr? Had thought I'd do mr this summer.

Idk if this will be helpful or not. My first Amex card was the Hilton biz on 9/27/18. I then got a BBP 8/6/19. I closed the Hilton biz at the one year mark. I went for another Hilton card sometime last year (I wanna say September) and got the pop up. Dh had a similar situation where he had a Hilton card first. He tried for another Hilton card and got the pop up but was able to get a BBP just fine. So it might be better to get the Hilton card first

So I thought (and has always been my experience) that you never paid the resort fee while staying 100% on points at Hilton. I am going through all my documents for my trip tomorrow and I catch that I will be charged the resort fee and tax for staying at the Caribe Hilton. That's like $88. I will NOT be charged these fees in New Orleans. Is this just a mainland US policy?

This is maybe not helpful since it's also mainland US, but during our FNC weekend stay at the Conrad NYC last month we did not have to pay resort fees despite them being listed at the time of booking. I would ask.

I think I only get 3 free cancels a year with Airbnb. Besides, dealing with individual owners, it feels weird to cancel rebook. Would total do it if it was a hotel.

I'd forgotten about the biz cars so I tried it since it wouldn't affect my other plans and only 3k so easy for me to do. Got the damn popup!

Clearly need tp spend more on my dl card. It's almost 2 years old too. I don't get why it's hilton that they are so stingy with.

Dang that stinks, sorry. Idk why the Hilton cards are harder to get

That sucks!

Really?? I have a huge property tax bill that is coming due. I would love to put on my credit card, but will that not screw things up tax time??
also be aware that many governments charge a convenience fee if you pay by credit card that far exceeds any reward percentage you get for using the card. I suppose it could be worthwhile for meeting an initial spend threshold but usually it is a losing proposition.

It really depends on what you are doing. If you are getting a bonus worth $800 and the way you can meet a $5k MSR is by paying a $5k tax bill at 2%. You still come out way ahead. Sure you lose a bit but that’s better than no bonus.

True but many of us (myself included) specifically get a new card for tax payments- I’ve always found the SUB outweighs the small fee for cc use.

LOL @Alexle2007 -you beat me to it😁

We're just one data point but I got Marriot Biz 3/19 and Hilton Biz 6/19......while DH got Hilton person 1/19, Marriott Biz 3/19 and Hilton Biz 9/19......we've never gotten the pop up but I'm super nervous now. I really wanted the personal Hilton and Platinum Hilton in DHs name at the very least...

It hasn’t impacted my taxes. It’s not like you list the payment mechanism on your taxes. All you do is list the amount paid.
Well I can no longer deduct my taxes ( 9200 a year) cause of the new federal tax laws. I meant tax time and my business write off for my business, Husband and I are both self employed
