I personally think it’s time to move on from who you all want to blame. The DIS has a community board so people are welcome to start their own thread on that topic. Or if only 2 people are interested in that conversation the DIS PM system is wonderful. 😊
There's a lot of chatter on this thread that has nothing to do with credit cards. Most of this thread is not churning related and I don't know if you noticed, but many churning related questions go unanswered. Maybe you need to set some guidelines for what is off-limits and what is OK to discuss on this thread.

Okay I have a formula question. I thought about buying some to have on hand in case I need it after the baby is born for whatever reason. I have no idea how much to get. I tried looking on Amazon and can't figure out what makes sense. I currently have 6 (2 fl oz) bottles of Enfamil Neuropro, 4 (2 fl oz) bottles of Similac Pro-sensitive, 1 (7.6 oz) can of Similac Pro-sensitive, 4 (2 fl oz) Similac powder packets, and 1 (7.6 oz) can of Similac Pro-total Comfort. These are all from sample boxes from Target, Amazon, etc.

Can anyone help me with this? Do I need more than what I already have?

@Haley R no! If you end up needing it the hospital will send you home with some and provide it the whole time you are there. Having a preemie I had to supplement at first and they kept me well stocked and sent me home with plenty so I could make sure to have some in case I still needed it. Some babies can only have one kind or another so I’d not spend $$ until he is here and you know more!

Cancel your trips to Hawaii if you haven't already...

I read this morning that the Hawaii Department of Health said 32 of the 37 positive test results (at the time) are the result of traveling residents, and the remaining 5 positive cases are from visitors to the islands. The latest total is up to 48, and Hawaii reported its first (at least 2) cases of community spread today.

This measure seems extreme, but I think there’s a good case to be made that people traveling (residents and tourists alike) are bringing the virus into the state. They’ve got to manage this. But it’ll kill airline travel and hotel occupancy for the next thirty days and likely beyond. Imagine flying to Hawaii for a vacation and spending your entire time there in quarantine. I also heard that the beaches and parks are closed, so there’s not even that to look forward to. For a state where tourism is the number one economic driver, it’s going to hurt a lot of the local people.

If you plan to breastfeed, you don’t need more than what you have already. Also, the hospital will provide some as well. I exclusively breastfed, but for my first child I had one can of formula that I had just in case I needed to supplement. For the second I didn’t buy any formula, but I did take home a couple of the premixed formula bottle the hospital provided just in case I had any problems the first couple nights home with establishing breast feeding.

Awesome thank you both! I didn't know how long the stuff I currently have would last and I was getting a little nervous reading about people buying/hoarding formula. Just another thing to worry about. I messaged my OB and she said it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and buy some, but I didn't tell her I had all of these samples already. I didn't realize the hospital would be able to give me some. I need to remember to ask them for some to take home.

My thoughts on this are that SW's true intent here is for people to earn CPs in 2020 for the year 2021. We "game" the system by earning it in Feb or Mar but that's not necessarily how it's intended. So to me, having earned my CP for the remainder of 2020 and all of 2021, I do not feel cheated in any way at this point. The ability to use your CP for the remainder of 2020 is sort of a bonus on your 2021 CP.

I actually feel like the people who have a real beef are those that earned it LAST year. I think it would be a great move for SW to consider extending CPs that expire on 12/31/20 to 6/30/21 to make up for lost time.

EDIT: (I know I'm trying to be rational and logical here so everybody has full permission to be upset over lost time on their CP - it is a bummer! I just wanted to look at it from SW's POV and why I think they don't actually "owe" anybody on this one)
this was the first time we could get a CP. and we were trying to decide if we should go to pittsburgh first or Salt Lake City. We’re working on my genealogy and need to go both places to track down info on my great, great grandfather. So, it was nothing earth shattering - just something I had been looking forward to. So, I’m looking forward to that whenever we can safely travel again. Where are all of you hoping to travel to?

This is the Budget Board, which is way different from the Community Board. Can still make a thread here but let's make the proper distinction. I rarely travel to community, often scares me...
Community scares the crap out of me too. But I get keeping the blame game over there. That board can handle it. I just want to debate the merits of TPG finally getting a moral compass and deciding traveling for Spring Break is a bad thing 🤣

On the laundry front the one thing I've always wonder. I put the shirt in the wash right side out, how does it come out of the dryer inside out. I'm sure it's the washer but we have an agitator so I don't know but it's always had me stumped.
I still haven’t figured out how certain socks entered the laundry and never emerged so don’t look at me for answers!

DIS guidelines for all forums state no profanity, no politics, no religion, no fighting, etc.

It’s best that we abide by those guidelines before a moderator has to step in. Our thread is given a lot of latitude because we’re on the budget board. It’s in everybody’s best interest that we use discretion so our little community of churners can continue to thrive here.

Okay I am going to do something radical here and...ask for churning advice lol

I am eligible for a Chase Biz and was goinh to have DH refer me for the CIP. However, w; only meet that spend via plastiq w/ student loans. I am currently in the process of trying to refinance those to take advantage of a better interest rate and term. I have had all the paperwork in for awhile so I am not sure what the delay is but haven’t gotten a timeline on when that would go live and when the first payment would be. I’m worried if I keep waiting they’ll change to the 15k.

Options-
1. Apply for CIP and just hope the refinance works out with timing of payments etc.

2. apply for CIU or CIC instead knowing we can meet that with reg spend.

3. Keep waiting until the refinance is hopefully done and hope the 80k/5k offer is there

Also- anyone have any good bank bonuses? I have an offer for $500 for BOA with 10k in DD but that’d require me changing my DD and I prefer to just use P2s part of which is being used for other bonuses right now. (My company insists on mailing multiple paper checks before changing a DD and it makes me uneasy to have my paycheck mailed).
There are other ways to hit that MSR if you come up short through gift cards or possibly even a refundable travel purchase. I like the CIP 😊

I’m wondering if your student loans are federally held, and if so whether you could take advantage of the 60-day student loan interest waiver while your refinancing is still pending.

DeVos directed servicers to retroactively stop assessing interest on federal student loans starting March 13, according to the press release. For at least 60 days, loans held by federal loan servicers will have a 0% interest rate.
...
For those continuing to make payments, your payment amount will not change during the interest-waiver period. Instead, the entire payment amount will go toward your principal balance, meaning you will make more progress toward paying off your debt than you normally do.

Wow - This is a very important thing to note. Most people should easily understand that, but I hope everybody grasps that making payments right now won’t eliminate their future payments.

I've been amazed that they are actually putting out non clickbait stuff lately, finally.

Knock on wood, I don't have that problem. Aside from t-shirts turning inside out the only other issue I solved with safety pins. Sorry guys, but those stupid pad/insert things in sports bras are such a pain, so I started safety pinning them before I put them in the wash and I no longer have a problem with them folding in half inside the bra and stuff. Suppose the same could be done with socks, but all my socklets I wear with my flats, my gym socks, and my short socks I wear around the house go in a laundry bag in the wash. The taller fun socks, like darth vader, small world, other designs just go in the wash on their own and magically come out of the dryer.

I take a couple of type 2 diabetes meds and blood pressure med and I see they are made in India, Italy and the UK. I'm good for a couple of months but now wondering what happens when I run out. Will there be any left at CVS? I can't order until I'm down to a weeks worth of pills.

I'm concerned because I'm on Hydroxychloroquine for rheumatoid arthritis. This is the drug that they've been talking about possibly being a treatment for Covid-19. That would be wonderful of course, but I'm really scared at the thought of possibly not being able to get this drug that I really need!

I hate to admit it I support our local business all 52 weeks a year. My New Years resolution was to cook more, but I failed.
My dh went to Costco yesterday and bought way too much food...really why now?
Nothing wrong with that!! I love to cook and so I do it as a first choice but i am happy to support my local businesses right now and honestly, with the lack of available ingredients, it's nice to be able to just order whatever we want and go pick it up.

I'm a Costco junkie but I've not been there since this all this began. I just can't deal with Costco and the craziness there!
