To open it, 3k. To PC to it, 5k. IDK :confused3
But it seems to be a system thing where arguing logic with a rep won't help, so if you want to PC to a card, have 5k CL on it.

Thanks! That was the plan. I actually want to do some credit reductions, but not till later. So, I figured I'd move some lines around and make them ready for transition.

I still have two $300 Marriott gift cards from using Bonvoy Brilliant credits. Toying with selling them on Raise. Looks like I'd clear almost $250 each. I probably should just hold onto them, but between the $200 amex platinum travel credit and 50k marriott certificate I have (and have a 35k one coming soon) and no U.S. travel plans except visiting family, I just don't know when I'll use them.

And this pandemic really makes you appreciate strange things. DD is scheduled to take her SAT next week. After having numerous tests cancelled, I'm so happy this one hasn't been cancelled (yet). I think it's fairly likely she will be able to take it. And DS's social security card appears to be in the mail today after three weeks of waiting so hopefully he can get his learner's permit this week.

Finished the MSR on my BoA card since we needed to get our pool heater pump fixed. Won’t be hard to meet Dh’s either with all of the medical bills we have. Then we’re gonna focus spend on our BBPs. We’re thinking about doing the chase checking account but haven’t decided yet

curious, did you request his card through mySSA.gov?

Ok thanks I’ll have to call about the deposit because it doesn’t make sense to me. As far as the FNC I was planning to book a total of 6 or 7 nights. I thought I could make a reservation for 5 nights to get the 5th free and a separate reservation tacked on to the end for one or two more nights? Am I not able to do that?
Yes, that works fine. I thought you were only doing the 5 nights.

No, I don't think that works for minors. I had to send in his passport and my passport to our local office since it's closed due to covid. I got those back after a week but then it still took another two weeks to get the card. Major pain and he needs his permit to take driver's ed this semester.

Daughter flew to Colorado Springs (probably on points on American) on Thursday for her Aunt's Celebration of Life, which we were all set to watch but the venue set it up but did not get around to actually turning on the camera.

Meanwhile I'm being a grandma to my 2 darling grand daughters. Took them to a State Park yesterday for swimming and playground. It was almost empty as it was a weekday. They wanted to go back today but would be too busy for me.

Meanwhile they are enjoying water and ice from my new refrigerator. My old one had 'lock' controls on the water and ice dispenser. This one doesn't. Fortunately the sink is quite close. Everything is a game. Yesterday the clouds were dinosaurs. The little rocks were treasured shells, and lunch from McDonalds with a Jack Jack toy was the epitome of cuisine. Life really is at it's simplest.

Ooohhh as someone considering the MDD with no idea what to do with points, I like this thought a lot! Do the URs ever expire? Or can I save them and build them up over time for a big trip?
URs never expire so long as you keep a UR earning card open. This would even include cards with no AF such as a CF or CFU.

Save them - they do not expire as long as you keep the card. We are not traveling until things get better so my UR and MR balances keep growing. As @CyndiLouWho said they are like a travel savings account. I do not churn, just build on my balances with everyday purchases and bills - both my UR and my MR balances have grown quite a bit since mid-March.

Yep, I don’t think they are reopening anytime soon. Or will be strictly limited appointments. Unfortunately, the main populations served (retired and disabled) are high risk categories. It has been a challenge to fit out how to work certain workloads remotely.

Two Hyatt questions;

1) How long does it take your SUB to post to your Hyatt account once you meet the MSR?

and

2) How hard is it to link two consecutive award stays?

I want to book the Hyatt Regency Tokyo once the first part of my tiered SUB posts to my account but won't have all the points I need all at once.

1. The points post quickly -- I believe on the statement following when you meet the MSR.

2. Shouldn't be a problem to link the reservations. If you want everything on the same reservation, once you get the points you need, as long as the rooms are available, you can cancel the first ressie and re-book with all the nights that you need

If he has a passport, why do you need his SSA card to get an instruction permit? I find it interesting that you have to have your permit to take driver's ed. In MN you have to pass driver's ed before you get your permit. I apologize if you covered this elsewhere in the thread, I miss a lot during the week.

Great question! I don’t get it either. But Virginia requires a social security card. And VA is weird to me too. In CT we took drivers ed then got our license when we were 16. In VA you get your permit at 15.5, take drivers ed, and then can get your license at 16.25.

Just guessing it has to do with Real Id, but I don't know for sure as my real id has been delayed until next year.

I was intrigued and looked up the WI law. To get an instruction permit you must be 15.5 years old, be enrolled in a driver's ed program, with your first behind the wheel instruction within 60 days. Show Proof of Citizenship, Proof of Name and Date of Birth, Proof of Identity, Proof of WI Residency and provide the SS#. All but residency can be proven by a US Passport, and for minors residency can be attested to by a parent/ legal guardian. It appears you can get a REAL ID compliant hard card permit too. Things I wouldn't have known. Was very surprised that Tribal ID isn't acceptable for anything, when I can use it anywhere REAL ID is required, and at Canadian land crossings.

Just wanted to pop on and say we are watching both of these Gulf storms very closely being in South Central LA and possibly within the impact area of both. Thoughts going out to anyone else here who may be in the path. Planning to ride everything out at home with our generator, as electricity in our area goes out with even regular thunderstorms here. Not expecting anything too serious, but 2 storms back to back will be quite interesting. 2020 just keeps delivering the crazy!
