Oh Boy...I just did a thing...

Cashed out another $5,000 URs. I don't plan to STOP earning URs... but given the recent issues with AA, I'm also not about to be sitting on any URs anymore either!! That brings me down to 45k left (although I'll be back up to 200k soon enough). I think I'll keep a balance of 50k or so and every time that I have 100k extra I'll cash out $1,000 going forward. (Just my plan, not advising others to follow suit...the fact that I don't really have a 1.5x use for URs and have a plethora of SW points makes this a workable solution for me).

Oh and to relate this to MSR Sunday, I'm just about done with the spend on a Chase Biz card for me (paid off my Disney trip in full today!) and waiting on a Chase Biz card to arrive for my wife this week. That'll be our focus for the next few months then.
I'm currently sitting on about 180k URs across several cards. I might transfer them all to DH who has a "cleaner" chase profile. I don't know. They're worth more to me for travel than cash, but I'd hate to lose them completely.

please, no star wars spoilers I dont need to know if its good or bad I can't see it until this coming Saturday. ugh might have to ignore the boards even though I dont want to lol
am I the only one who set up calendar reminders to change my method of payments from my 1.5x car to my 5x (7.5x with the reserve bonus) for the quarter from chase?

Looking also at my Marriott points, as I have a half million or so, plus 5 free nights.

I've got 4 DVC vacations booked in 2020.
January - 11 to 19 including drive down and back home - with my GD's at BWV and HH.
February 10-21, mostly at BWV - leave home on the 9th and return on the 22nd.
March at Hilton Head in a 2 bedroom for spring break. Not sure when we will leave or return but we are there starting on the 15th. May stop in Charleston for a night. Or even Myrtle Beach where some friends just moved and would like to have us visit.
November - Oct 30 to Nov 7 for Food and wine staying at BWV.

Plus a couple or three of beach trips to Ocean City Maryland in summer...
This leaves me starting to plan for 2021. And the Marriott points/certificates.

I am thinking of doing something in Florida for a couple of weeks in February to coincide with family being at their house in Reunion. I want to book a few DVC nights but make it mostly a Marriott trip to knock out some points before Marriott devalues them completely.
So, I've decided on a circle tour. Down the east coast and up the west coast back to Disney by President's Day. This is a thought, and all subject to change but there are quite a few interesting properties to look at.

I’m sitting on a large stash of URs. I am not going to cash out, at least not this preemptively. Saving for a cruise and the CSR 1.5 will really stretch these URs.

Trying to get in with AMEX so I’ll put spend on those cards while waiting for my next Chase window to open.

I want a Hyatt card so will stop drinking and grab that one next. Also I’ll be eligible for personal Chase Marriott in Mar. Looking to see when I want to try for that, most likely closer to Sept to preserve my 4/24 status.

I love these plans I agree once Hyatt has a good sign up bonus for their card I am dumping Marriot trying to dump all my points and drop the card before the annual fee hits, as well they feel like they are 1/4th the value when I was accumulating them heavily.

Checked informed delivery and I've got a letter from the Starkist settlement. I've heard of it and certainly bought it, but 'when did I join in this settlement?' Who knows. I don't remember doing it but I guess I had an idle moment at some point.

So, here's hoping I opted for coupons - that's $5.03, versus a $2.38 cash payment.

@Haley R - I attended most of the grand babies earlier trips to their pediatrician. I tried to talk daughter into a January Disney trip after the first was born on New Years Eve. Back to work was 6 weeks - so pediatrician said 'yes' go have fun! She said it will be the easiest time you travel with them. Daughter said no dice. Tried again for the second, again doctor was fine with going to Disney - daughter would have none of it. Daughter was flying at 7 weeks and we definitely traveled further than your ride to Disney at early ages of 2 weeks and 4 weeks as our pediatrician was quite a distance at the time. My next 2 kids didn't travel as much.
my SIL took her 4 yo and 6 week old (by plane) to WDW...b/c she had the time off so they took it!

I'd like to air my grievances with Chase for no longer allowing Disney bookings (old news) and AA for the stress and panic they've caused. On a related note I'd like to thank Bar cray cray for denying DH and potentially keeping him safe from the AA mess.
On the AA front, I thought they were basically targeting CITI cardholders since bar cray cray didn't have the same "abuse." Am I wrong?

Honestly... (and I have to give @PolyRob partial credit for this from our chat last night)... I blame CHASE and DISNEY for the AA miles mess for many of us. AA miles weren’t even on the radar for a lot of us until Chase had to go and wreck URs for Disney!! BOOOOOO Chase and Disney!

I can fully get behind this logic!! Churner logic.

I’m nervous about the chase stuff but I want to use the points next year for flights so we can’t cash them out. I do think I might try to do more with Amex next year to mix things up some
Ok....I've been away all week, looking all over for anything related to this comment now.... is it on reddit somewhere? I can see @SouthFayetteFan notes above, and read the AA stuff..... what does one have to do with the other?

I don’t want anybody to panic cash-out their URs just because I cashed out. I did it because I REALLY don’t have a viable travel use for them in 2020 and I’ll replace a bunch of them within 3 months anyways.

Ok - Frozen II about to start so ttyl! 🤣
