OK, I have major FOMO right now. I never heard of Serve until it was discussed on this thread, and I don't really understand what it is or where I would apply for one. I know I want the Green one (or do I want 2?) but can you please let me know where to get it?



Both Uber Eats and Grubhub are not reliable. We have started using Grubhub with the pick-up option and that's worked really well so far.

Just remember you can and will be shut down it’s just a matter of when. they just shut people down in May and before that it was 2 years ago, so I’m hoping I have time. (I think @calypso726 got shut down awhile ago?) Order extra cards now and don’t activate them. Only use them if your other one gets shutdown. If you are doing Serve at Walmart you can also sign up for BlueBird. Also, don’t float too much. Be prepared for the worse possible scenario if this ends or if there is fraud am I going to be ok without these funds for a little while. In my case I would just stop signing up for new cards to spend down the giftcards but just be careful.

What do you use your MRs for?

In the past 10 months I have used almost 600K MRs. I've booked BA 1st class for two from ATL- Edinburgh (twice), Dublin to MCO in biz and Virgin Australia in biz from AKL-LAX (for 2). I've also topped off Delta accounts several times allowing for planned and unplanned trips with them for family as well as myself. I know this board loves their URs but MRs rule for me and our international travel

Same email is fine but you need new user ids

You don't have any Amex/MR earning cards? If that is the case, you might consider waiting for the 100,000 MR offer on Amex plat. Yes, this will take a 5/24 slot but that many points is worth it. People use MRs for transferring to airlines mostly. I'd argue if you don't have a need for these points, especially SkyTeam partners, you might be better offer just staying in the Chase universe.

The only Amex cards we have are Hilton cards so no MRs as of right now. The airline we plan to fly in the near future is allegiant so we can go back to Iowa for Christmas. I’m wondering if we should just stick with Chase for now. If we had plans for international travel sometime soon I would maybe consider an Amex card but I think we might just pass for now and use our CSR.

No just 2MR on everything so it’s good to use for all your purchases that don’t have a category bonus.




Uhh in NYC? Are there Walmart’s and DG/FD near you? When I was in queens nothing like that was around but lots of no name bodegas to get money orders from, if they took debit. LI has a lot of options though.


Chase won’t even see the Amex Biz card. If you could hit the spend I’d get 2 every 90 days until you are maxed out at 5 credit cards lol plus charge cards don’t count.

I think that’s another prepaid card. Idk how that one works. I dont have it but it maybe possible to load with GCs I was talking about the Serve Green card.

no amex in the mail today

DH has been waiting for his Hilton Biz all week. They said 2 business days.

I tried both at Walmart and was turned away also. I just go to FD or DG now, not worth the hassle at Walmart for me.

I've never been asked for a phone number at Family Dollar, or Dollar General for that matter. Did they use the right card to begin with? I'd try again. FD is the easiset for me.

Hmmm. This is making me rethink even trying since we don't have those dollar stores here. @Lain, do you know if this would work at any WalMart's around the area? I'm thinking I'm just going to wasting my time.

What do you use your MRs for? Dh is thinking we should just keep putting spend on his CSR until I can get a CIC

Oh, for so many trips. I love them. In the last 12 months we have used MRs to book 3 Business tickets to Copenhagen on Air France, 3 Business tickets from London on BA, and 2 round trip business tickets from SFO>OSL. And we are planning to get a couple more seats for summer 2020.

Thank you so much. I'm going to check it out, although it's sounding iffy in my area. Also, I had no idea it was an AMEX product. I'm a bit afraid of angering the AMEX RATs because I love my MRs and what I can do with them.

I completely understand, especially wanting to fly back to Iowa for family visits. My only caution is that if you want to travel internationally sometimes it takes a year-two years to stockpile points. I know I worked on my Australia stash for a good 18 months. Just a reminder, you do you

Giant Grocery (of Virginia only?): I got $10 off of $50 Happy Dining GC, AND supposed to be 8x fuel rewards (8x needs to be loaded to rewards card and Ends TODAY). Can't tell if the 8x worked because I was supposed to get the exact same amount of reward on other items, and only showing 400 points (40 cents/gallon). I'll get the other 40 cents tomorrow at Customer Service.

Hi everyone! Been trying to keep up with the fast & furious pace here, so I apologize in advance for just jumping in after being gone for a while.
Quick update, met MSRs on P1 & P2 CIP#1 over the last couple of weeks, and now trying to decide where I want to turn next for our upcoming big spends (tuition!)
Considering CIP#2 for P1, but we're only just over 60 days from initial application. Keep waffling over jumping on the grAAvy train since our upcoming flights will be AA/BA, but our tix are already purchased, so I'm not sure if we'll see any significant benefits (seat upgrades?)

On a related note, I know this is a well-traveled group, and I'm wondering if any of you have experience with CLT airport. I've tried to research minimum connection times, and I'm beginning to get concerned. Do any of you think 55min is adequate for a connection to an international flight? I know CLT is not that big, but we saw some significant crowding due to construction last time we were in the airport, and that was only a domestic connection. This one will be regional jet/domestic to international. Should I start making plans to switch to an earlier flight now?

As long as you don't have to go through security again you should be fine. Now if it's the return and you have to go through customs I'm not sure it would be. CLT really isn't that busy or that big. It's an AA hub but everything else is pretty much serving those that live there. SeaTac is way more busy than CLT to me. And I used to fly right before and after xmas between the two when I lived in NC.

Airline's will also only offer valid legal connections, granted things have to be close to on time for them to work but I've had a valid connection in ATL that was about 55 min and it was tight but that airport is much bigger and busier.

Yeah, use your CIC for 5x and check Dosh before you buy. It went away but it was 5% back at staples recently so hopefully that comes back.

I got 3x HH points for my gift card only purchase at Staples on Sunday on my HHBiz. I imagine that would be similar to a GCM purchase.

The base earn rate for "other purchases" on the HHBiz is 3x, so it's not any special bonus category.

I believe @Lain has mentioned it is possible to PC it sooner since it is not subject to the Card Act. I also believe @Alexle2007 did successfully PC one prior to a full year.

I personally didn't do it even though I want to. I feel my DD and self-refer are basically two strikes. I don't wanna try three!

I was hesitant to start with MRs. I got bored in between Chase apps and was dragging my feet. No real "set" plan for MRs, but I wanted the offers and to possibility diversify points. I am sitting MSR-less right now and throwing some non-category spend on my personal Plat to hopefully keep the RAT happy until my next app. I have a plan with Chase and won't be going for a new card until I (hopefully) get CIP#3 in early September, but that will be an Amex biz card. BBP is on my list to park MRs if I end up cancelling all other MR cards, but I will probably wait to see if there is ever a good SUB offer I qualify for now that self-refer is bad.

What is the main factor for the shutdowns? I will hold off ordering any extras until I can figure out the system....

I drove past two WalMarts today. I was taking my 90 year old neighbor to the Market and didn't feel I could ask her to please sit in the car in 90* weather while I run inside to see if I could get my Serve card loaded!
