This was my first time using Plastiq and I paid a bill that was less than $200. Is there a way to combine these gift cards on Plastiq? Just wondering how to use them to pay a bill more than $200.
No I just did multiple payments. Really 16 payments of 198.02. I’m sure the mortgage company is going to like putting those in :-) plus the payment from my bank to cover the months payment. In the past I’ve also done a payment for $9.00 and one for $250. Plastiq doesn’t seem to care what the amount is.

If you have a bills for $150 and use a $200 gc you can use the balance on another bill and then make an additional payment to pay off the bill.

:thanks:I know people say this a lot but I just wanted to say thank you again for everyone on here and all the positive energy. We have our share of real life bad news lately but notwithstanding the people on here are so overwhelming supportive. I was on the rest of the Board today and I have to say I am done. Just a couple posts trying to find out information on the upcoming AP events and then reading the DVC forums about put me over the edge. I will be on this thread and other than that it is just not worth the time/effort. If I have any questions I am off topic and posting them here!

:offtopic: As to my new plan of asking you smart people instead of reading elsewhere individual thoughts....the only DAH that works for us on our trip in May (just myself and D8) is the AK DAH. We would not do Flights of Passage (it makes me sick) and D8 can deal. Worth it? We would have the $95 ticket price instead of $125 and it is just two of us if that changes the calculation. I think some of you have done it but can’t remember precisely who. @Haley R?

Chase Shutdown Story due to maxing out multiple Chase Freedom card 5x at end of 1st quarter: https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/bbyjg3/discussion_thread_april_11_2019/ekof3vh/

This one is a bit concerning. This is a very reputable long-time r/churning member. He stated he has “several Freedoms”. I’m not posting to scare...just to share info :)
Follow up to this Shutdown story: All accounts were reinstated

https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/bhy0hu/discussion_thread_april_27_2019/elx3pfl/
Follow-up on Chase shut down story from couple weeks back (Chase shut down Freedoms for end of quarter CVS spend)
All cards reinstated after secondary review. Paid off all balances (on all cards, not just Chase cards) prior to calling and allowed time to report to bureaus.

Not that anybody here wants to be shutdown, but many people get reinstated! This was the weird one where he maxed numerous Freedoms for the 5x URs.

So, update on us and the grAAvy train for our August trip...we had planned on staying at Pop for 5 nights followed by YC for 4 nights. Based on the sun & fun rates, when I first boarded the train, and the fact that values were available, this made sense and I thought I'd have the miles. But the AA situation has changed a lot in just a couple mos (why!?!?) and the current Disney promos are no longer reflected in AA rates and values are no longer an option. I'm guessing in that renegotiation of the contract with Disney, they are no longer able to offer promo rates or the values (since those are probably filling nicely for Disney direct). I'm super sad but have been working on a new plan.

Here is where I'm currently at:

first 5 nights at Pop paid OOP. One room booked with the Aug FD'ing promo (2 adults) and one room booked under the summer RO discount (3 'adults' and 1 child). I upgraded the dining to the DDP so we'd get 10 TS, 10 QS & 20 snacks. This would allow us to cover 2 character meals & pay OOP for the child at those meals.

last 4 nights at Swan. We've never stayed there but it's so cheap for our dates using AA miles. I can use 140k AA miles for BOTH rooms and those are upgraded rooms with a balcony. $135 per room due at the resort for the fees. That is something I can deal with. We wanted YC so badly for the location and the pool. We cannot get the pool by staying at Swan but we can get the location.

We will still have tons of AA miles left for our next trip. I never thought I'd stay offsite, and while swolphin is more onsite than other resorts, it's still offsite to me. However, Disney pricing is just getting so ridiculous and it seems they cannot play nice with any of the points programs so this is where they are pushing us. Having said that, dh & I walked over to Swolphin when we stayed at BC last month and we were overall impressed. I think we will be ok :D

I’m glad you found an acceptable option here! I know we’ve been PMing so much about your situation and every week it seems the situation had gotten worse. Way to make the best of the situation - love the optimism! You guys are going to have an awesome trip. Did you book?
I haven't booked the Swolphin part yet. Been holding out some hope the Disney promos may just be late to hit the AA portal. I do have the Pop portion booked. I also have Pop booked for the entire stay. If we stay there the entire time with FD'ing on one room with two adults, we would have 18 TS, 18 QS and 36 snacks. Our boys can eat from kid's menu and my girls & I are pretty light eaters so our OOP for food would be so low and that is an appealing option as well. I think first choice is Swan for for last 4 though since I can cover that completely with AA points and puts us in Epcot area. Presented the option to dh tonight and he is a go for that. So, I am close to booking :)

I’m no fan of snow but I’m fairly certain I would trade you the 96 degrees I walked out into after seeing Endgame this afternoon for some snow given the chance. We’re running 15 degrees above average in central CA right now. Fingers crossed it’ll spread to the rest of you, you could actually use it!!

96? Wow. I'm in CA, but it wasn't even close to hot today over here. I hope you have good AC.

not sure if it matters, my other group posted a 70k targetted offer for the CSP... so if ur gonna apply for one, should see if ur targetted.

Thanks for the heads up. That might be the next card I go for (although I'll have to see if I can use a link from my P2 and see which one would make more sense).

I had it on my Biz Plat, BGR, and Biz Green. Nothing on my personal cards. I’m guessing it’s targeted to biz cards. Nick at FM seems to think there’s a money-making opportunity here. I haven’t looked at this deal closely enough to decide, but I’ve added the offer anyway because 25,000 MR!

I want those MRs. P2 has it on his Plat Biz, but can't find anything to get from there. If only it was the Apple Store...

If we were ok with staying at Swan for the entire stay, I could cover it 100% with miles. I cannot say I'm not entertaining that as well!!

I think of the Swolphin as on-site and I think you got a great deal. I haven't stayed there (yet) but I have friends who split between one of them and another Disney resort if no good deals are available. WDW hotel prices are out of control.

I am not sure dh or I can either one commit to a fully Swolphin stay this next trip but maybe staying there for half our stay will be what we need to know we are okay there. Seems so silly to think that but we've just never stayed offsite! Dh & I stayed one night at WBC last year when we were just in town to check out Orlando and other FL cities. We didn't care for WBC at all even though it gets a tons of love here on the DIS. I'd have hated to have booked a full vacation there. I guess I am just wanting to start small with Swolphin and see how we do. The location is awesome! We ate a meal there last month and loved it (very good and better pricing than Disney). The pool area seemed great - lots more to do there than at your average Disney pool area - so I think I am excited to check it out more.

I think a split is the perfect way to try it out. I have heard good things about WBC, too, but it's not located right between Epcot and DHS, so I've never been tempted. The Four Seasons was tempting, but I've never stayed off site either, and just couldn't do it. If it helps, my friends who have good things to say about the Swan/Dolphin are the same - they only stay on property. I hope you like it. :)

@Haley R?
We did the AK DAH in January and we didn’t think it was worth it WITH flight of passage. So without I definitely wouldn’t do it. We only got to ride it once too. Something was definitely off about our night because we had a huge wait for fop and other nights didn’t have that problem. AK is my least favorite park though and the things I like about it aren’t open during DAH (walking paths, safari, and animal trails). There just wasn’t enough to keep us entertained.

We landed in Orlando yesterday and drove over to the Melbourne area. Yesterday we checked into our Hampton and our rooms are super nice! Dh found a deal on orbitz or something so he called Hilton since they match the price and they gave us the price match and took another 20% off so it was only $95/night I believe for a king bed with a whirl pool tub. The tub is huge! My parents were so surprised when they asked if we wanted snacks checking in lol.

Yesterday we just looked at some newly built and new construction homes. Not really what we’re looking for but our realtor wanted us to see all of our options. Today we get to start looking at all of the houses we have saved so should be a productive day! I keep telling my mom we need to pick a house quick so we have some time to go to Epcot

Funny we did Pop (just one night) and Swan for 2 in Feb. I honestly couldn’t see us staying at Pop for more than a night or two. It totally met our needs (the DME was a plus!) and with the dining plan I bet it will meet yours. We tend to spend very little time in the room but something about the overall feel I just didn’t love. I LOVED the Swan. The area, the size of the rooms, the pool, the boat to DHS, I just really loved it all. I think the split is the way to go. The DDP will come in handy!

I completely agree that this thread is the most supportive! I read as much as I can whenever I can. I don’t post much, especially because I’m not “in it” as much as others, but I love reading and getting ideas. I see myself as a slow and cautious CC user instead of a churner, but without this thread I wouldn’t have most of the valuable cards I have, and I wouldn’t be making good use of the ones I already had!:thanks:

I have nothing to add on the DAH post, but I’ve always wanted to do one! The ONE time that one fell during a trip I had planned was during Princess Half Marathon weekend. It was MK too, but I was registered for the 5K the next morning and knew it would be a bad idea overall. Needless to say it was a smart decision, but one I still wasn’t happy about lol. I personally wouldn’t do one at AK just because there isn’t enough there that I enjoy to make it worthwhile. I’d rather use my AP and go during the day vs paying extra for DAH there. Just my two cents. Good luck with your decision!

Any IRS experts out there? The small check I had to send them cleared yesterday. I mailed my return on April 15, so 15-26 to cash my check. Does that mean they've actually processed the return? Or do they just open this stuff and grab the cash, lol?
Not an IRS expert but I believe they get processed separately just based on the fact that one year I had to pay, sent a check with the return forms, the check was cashed and I later received mailings that they needed my tax return since it wasn’t received. I will say I ignored this request and never resubmitted it since it’s not my fault they lost it and I had already paid what I owed.

ETA: And now you have me curious as to what we do at my agency so I have a question out to some people who should know.

Nope! I guess maybe you could put part of it in but not all four legs, so then it seems like it would be unstable?

View attachment 397373

Maybe someone forgot their chair.

My DD and DSIL had to use these chairs in the shower when they first got home. Although DD can now walk and put weight on her leg/foot, she's still using her chair as it is easy to feel weak in the hot air/water while having to stand. DSIL used his in the bathtub and somehow negotiated getting onto it from outside the tub - don't know how he did it as we didn't go in with him.

When we went away for the weekend we brought our own chair as we didn't even think about a handicapped room. We also had the babies with us and used the tub for them.

Also, DD's chair went in sideways - she didn't use it facing the shower head - it was way too long just like the pictured one.

Although it's in no way Stormalong Bay, the Dolphin end of the pool area is very nice! We've made many trips there in earlier years and the kids enjoyed it.
