What is the time frame for support points? I gave a friend a CIP link about 3 weeks ago and no points have posted yet. She mentioned the card yesterday and I confirmed she went through my link.:confused3
The important question is what day did she get approved. It her approval occurred within the last 5 days it may not have tracked yet. Did you happen to check today to see if it posted yet? Support points will post on Tuesday afternoons - although sometimes it runs later in the day. At any rate, I'd check now, maybe check tomorrow, and if it's not there check next Tuesday. If you don't see them by then, something may not have tracked unfortunately and we can discuss how to address that.

My dh just got approved for his first CIP. I know it's a great card but anyone give me advice on the best way to use the points. We really don't need them for flying because I have the Barclays JB and have enough points for that. Thanks
Cash Back? That signup in total is worth a cool $850 in cash; offset the $95 AF and you have $755 in your pocket. There's lots of other ways to use URs though so I'd just research it. Whatever you do, don't use them for gift cards.

Also congrats on the card! If you used a DISchurners link make sure to let that person know so that they can thank you! :)

Chase SUB and support bonuses usually show up on Tuesdays. Support clicks should go pending on a Tuesday a week or two after approval. Three weeks is not unheard of depending on when she was approved, and if she missed the cutoff for that week.

I have a feeling that someone here did pull off a MDD recently, but my memory is failing me on just who it was.

I agree with @wanderlust7 in expressing caution. The MDD works, but there are a lot of things that have to go right for you to pull it off successfully.

Before attempting a MDD, you should put yourself in the best possible position to be insta-approved, without having to call into a human to push either app to approval. That means, one, following @SouthFayetteFan ’s guidelines for pacing and velocity, so you aren’t denied for too many recent cards, inquiries, or new lines of credit.

You should also reduce your overall credit lines on Chase personal and business cards to <50% of the household income that you report on your applications — the lower the better to increase your odds of Chase approving you for more credit. If you’re at or over 50% of household income, or if your total credit lines with Chase are objectively high, as in >$70k, Chase weighs that as a risk and will either deny you for sufficient credit extended, or be very conservative with the amount they give you. Considering the CSP requires a $5k credit line to open, and the CSR requires a $10k credit line to be approved, you don’t want Chase’s computer thinking it’s already given you enough credit. Cut the credit lines on your cards to whatever keeps you comfortable, but with enough room to open potentially $15k or more in new credit lines. I think, if you’re considering applying for a CSR, Chase has been known to give out crazy high limits on that card, e.g., $20k-30k+, which could impact how much room you have left for Chase to approve you for a second card in the MDD.

You should go about reducing your credit lines at least a month before you plan to apply, because while you can make a request to reduce your credit line on whichever card to whatever amount via SM, and a Chase rep will respond that they’ve lowered your credit line effective immediately, the lower credit lines aren’t reported on your personal cards to the credit reporting agencies until the close of that card’s statement or unless you pay off the current balance on that card. So even though you’ve reduced your credit limit, and it’s effective immediately in Chase’s system, when Chase’s computer pulls your credit report when you apply for a new card, they may still see the higher credit limits if your reports haven’t had enough time to update.

What was true in a DD still applies on a MDD — apply for the card you want more first because a second card is not guaranteed, especially if you’re using a MDD to get around a rule like the one Sapphire bonus rule.

Ideally, you’re approved for Card #1 on the same day you apply, but if not, you need to check status line every day. Once you’re approved for Card #1, apply for Card #2 the next calendar day after approval of Card #1. Hopefully, you’re approved for Card #2 instantly, but if not, you’ll need to call in to get it approved on the same day as your app. If you’re using the MDD to skirt around the one Sapphire rule, a Chase rep may deny you if they see Card #1 was another Sapphire card that was approved. You’ll then need to HUCA and hope you get a rep who won’t see Card #1 and will approve Card #2 for you.

Hope this helps.

Thanks @Lain and @wanderlust7. I did just lower his credit limits this morning before you posted. They weren't more than 50% of household income, but I went ahead preemptively. I didn't realize it would take so long to take effect. Unfortunately, we don't have time to wait a month. Making a DVC purchase and our guide said we could pay with a CC, heck yea! Paid the down pmt with DH's AA Biz we're meeting MSR on. He said we could pay the balance in a couple of weeks. I was thinking it would be nice to knock out 2 MSRs. Crossing fingers, that it will count as travel on the CSR (sounds like it should).

I think I'll go ahead and do the CSR app today, then I'll just give CSP a try to tomorrow...if it works, it works. If not, it will be ok. If DH *has* to call he will, but he's busy and I hate to bug him with stuff like this.

Hopefully all will go well. "Pacing and velocity wise" he hadn't opened a card since 3/20/18 and that was the Amex SPG Biz. Took a little break. Then we did CIP with his FEIN on 1/23 and Citi AA Biz 2/23. Hopefully that's not too much recently.
He's tech 2/24. Most of his cards are business cards.

Thanks for picking my school! Go Warriors....I mean Golden eagles. I'll never change.

I hate them from December-Early March in conference play. Non Confrence play I’m a Big East Fan. I bet if you saw where I’m from you could tell what Big East school I went to lol Another hint, my school’s defensive player of the year locked up Howard all season and we beat them twice lol.

If UVa can survive the first game. It’s painful being a Wahoo! Personally I think Dook will win which pains me but Zion is pretty awesome.

Dook will either bust out early or win the whole thing lol

Goodness, everyone was chatty today. Catching up while drinking my hot tea. I think I am a loner on that one. No coffee ever, no pop/soda ever. Hot tea is without sugar, but if I drink Iced tea it needs some sugar. Though, I used to like southern sweet tea, I must cut it in half now.

@striker1064 My DH claims to have never seen a drive through liquor store down there, though he did leave when he was 18 so he said he may just not have noticed. I guess he was a good teenager, unlike me. ha But all 18 years were on the gulf coast of MS and Louisiana.

I'm with you on the hot tea with no sugar. I sometimes drink it in the evening with milk in it.
Coffee is my morning or early afternoon beverage. (Usually just one morning cup but I like a cappuccino at times).

Soda is almost never and it is non caffeinated only if I have it.

Iced tea is either sweet or unsweetened, depends on what I'm eating. And it's a rare treat.

Is yours for a membership? I was excited until I realized they want me to buy a membership with it.
Yeah same. :( I added it then read fine print. I don’t need a membership. I just have a friend who lets me order Disney GCs online with hers.

@havaneselover, did you end up using a promo code for that BB&T account? It didn't give me an option to use one when I did our apps, but I'm seeing DPs on DoC now of people calling BB&T and being told the bonus promotion is not attached to the account. Apparently it's been super easy to have reps add the code though.

Good Luck!!! MDDs are a pretty awesome loophole if you can make it work :)

No points posted today unfortunately. She let me know she was approved on 2/24. So that means 4 Tuesdays since then. What suggestions do you have?

I think so. I may need to call in tomorrow. I'm still in exceptions/administrative hold.

I would call in with her full name and address and give it a shot. They'll probably hide behind some crap that says it takes 6-8 weeks. Then you have 2 options:

1) Push hard for them to research and figure it out now
2) Thank them kindly and mention that you'll track it. Once 8 weeks passes, you try again

I have gotten 2 support clicks awarded by just calling and complaining until they fixed it. I'm just calm, respectful BUT firm and maintain that they owe me the points. This is obviously impossible to do when not in real life because most internet strangers won't give you their full name and address.

You also might consider waiting 1 more week before attempting this in case something got tied up for some reason.

My friend had this happen when his wife used his link for the CIP. He contacted Chase through SM'ing each time. First two times, they responded with it taking up to 8 weeks. He was at about 4-5 weeks. After the third time, the CSR mentioned the 8 weeks but then the points magically showed up in his account on a Thursday so we figured someone manually added them since points don't typically post on a Thursday.

You could have your DH refer you to the CSP...Chase has only sent 1099s to people who received over 60,000URs in referrals...he would not get one for the 10K referral
As far as the Disney cards...I’d keep the no fee ones...they add to the age of your credit history.....you can reduce the CL to $500-$1,000.
The $49 Disney card you can cancel if you are going to move your spending to another card and will not use it.

Thank you! I actually have an Amazon Prime and Marriott rewards that are both much older. My other 2 Disney cards that don’t have the fee were opened around the same time as the one with the fee. We have found we benefit more from the one with the annual fee. So, my question is under what circumstances is it better to close the card? Is it worse for your credit score for you to close it or the merchant for non-use?
