Looks like my Hyatt card is in the mail today! Does anyone know if the $3000 in the first 3 months and $3000 in the next 3 months actually HAS to be in those time frames? Or can I just go ahead and knock it all out over the next couple months? I'm going to do a PNC account for me so that will take out 2k immediately.

Still no sign of 1099s.

I got my first bonus on the 2nd statement and my 2nd bonus on the 3rd statement.

I sure hope it doesn't matter and still works like WVMomof3 said. I just put all $6k on in the first month, and my 1st statement should be closing in a couple of days. Hoping that I get all bonus pts right away.

Does anyone know about reciprocity states with taxes? Decided to start with DDs taxes and I am a little stumped. Apparently she should have filed a form before working stating she was a WV resident working in PA, I would think the people she worked for should have told her this, but obviously did not. But anyway, I think I figured out how to file the taxes to get the PA state taxes back but I am wondering about the local taxes she also paid. Are those just lost at this point? Anyone know?

This is one of our favorites, too. If you haven't seen the SNL spoof on Amazon echo "silver" it's even better. We quote it all the time:

The sad part is this could have been me. I hated Alexa so much I made DH get rid of it. Wearing the shiny hat now-- I just don't trust it.

That is hilarious. Also my DH. He keeps unplugging her and I keep plugging her back in.

yeah..... until my cat got old....and now I have to clean out a gross litterbox....seriously considering a self clean model
Ugh he's 4 so I didn't think about that!!
Unfortunately, so do my neighbor's cats---in our yard-- and my dogs have gotten sick from eating kitty "treats":crazy2: We've tried to deter them but we're not always successful:sad1: (apparently this is a delicacy to my dogs, who knew?).
:crazy2: We have a half acre of woods so I'm hoping he goes there or under the deck and not the neighbors yards! I can't believe your dogs like "kitty treats", lol. Sorry, had to laugh at that description!

Haha, me too I LOVE cats. DS and DH want a dog so bad but I'm totally against it, especially after DD3 was bit in the face at a Superbowl party last weekend! She is ok, but that was so scary and I don't want one even more now.

On a CC related note, I'm trying to call Citi Cruise and Tours to see about booking a Universal room with my points and APH rate. I was put on hold and then hung up on...I hope this isn't an indication of how this is going to go...
I could see us maybe getting a dog when we have kids but it’s just too much to worry about while we’re going on trips. Cats are so easy to leave for a week without anyone having to check on them

We have two litter boxes and they get filled up fast! I don’t mind though because I don’t want them outside at all.
That's what I wanted originally, but we rescued a cat (6 months) with a broken leg and tail. We tried to keep him in but he was too used to being outside and we gave in after many sleepless nights of "howling".

Marriott has announced the yearly award night category changes - https://viewfromthewing.boardingarea.com/2019/02/08/marriott-category-changes-2019/

Of note so far:
Peak and Off Peak are not yet implemented. Still unknown when that will happen.
Changes are effective March 5, 2019
Category 8 pricing begins March 5 as well.
A handful of additional hotels are being added to the Cat 8 tier, there's a list singled out towards the end of the article.
A good amount of Cat 5 (35k) hotels are jumping up to Cat 6, as well as a couple dozen moving from Cat 6 (50k) to Cat 7. (exact numbers were posted here https://old.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/aoj2aa/marriott_2019_award_category_changes/)

Report back on whether you do, please :)

Yeah that’s exactly why we didn’t want to get ours started on going outside . We got kind of lucky with our second cat because she was 1 when we got her and did live on the streets but she never meowed to go outside luckily

Note to self...don't let dh ever talk me into a Nest thermometer

We have one (it was a gift) and it's like having a 3rd person messing with our heat/AC. DH and I set it and are happy with it, then one day the Next decides it has learned what we like and knows better than us. We're freezing and the AC turns on. We're comfy and the heat goes on. It's been years since we got this thing and we still aren't so sure about it.

Thanks for the laugh!

Yes, my mom bought me a 'winter robe' once and I can't wear it for more than 2 mins. I feel like it's strangling me or something lol. I have a short 'summer robe' that is thin and zips up and that works all year for me, but I'm really just not that into robes, unless we have company. Heat is 62 at night and a/c is, iirc, 73 at night. Same, summer was SOOOO long ago and can't come soon enough!
We were 63, but after reading your 62, I take that as a challenge. I will match it and see who complains first.

If we end up with a cat (and we might when we move) I am definitely getting a self cleaning model. I used to pet sit a ton and it was such a difference between the neighbors that had one and those that didn't, and way easier to clean IMO.

Yep, my dh sets it...but yes, he sets it at 62 at night...day is 67, but since I wear capris and tee and I am constantly upp'ing it to 70 during the day. He isn't here so he doesn't know  I've tried just putting on a sweatshirt or sweater but then I'm roasting and feeling claustrophobic.
He needs the app. I can see who is messing with the temp while I'm at work and then change it back to run program.

Good eyes, I'm getting cross eyed searching through the list that's sorted by Brand and doesn't go deeper than Country. Unless you found something other than a PDF?

I started with my expected redemptions and the Marriott and Delta in Vancouver near the cruise port aren't listed, so they should remain Cat 5's. I'm not sure anyone else would much care about the rest of ours
But a quick Ctrl+F does not find anything changing for the Swolphin, happened to see the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld is moving up to Cat 5 so should only be a problem during peak times.

More questions. I have been out of the game for a bit and want to make sure I don't screw up. We are going to be purchasing almost $5k in flooring and I want to get a new card that would give us 0% interest for at least a year, preferably longer. And if it gave a sign up bonus, that would be even better.

I was thinking about getting DH the Chase Ink Unlimited, but then I am not sure if he would qualify for the bonus because he got a the Chase Ink Cash less than a year ago. Here is his history over the past 24 months:

Chase Freedom Unlimited AU - 05/2017
Chase Sapphire Preferred - 09/01/2017, downgraded to Chase Freedom 9/18
Chase Ink Cash - 03/2018
Chase IHG - 03/2018
Bank of America BankAmericard - 01/2019

I know you can only get one sapphire bonus every 24 months, but what about Ink? And if he can't get another Ink bonus, any suggestions on another card, preferably a business card, that would give 0%?
