So we were in a 1 bedroom (room 3100) starting on Monday June 2nd. Over the course of a few days we started noticing that the light fixture in the ceiling in the shower was often leaking water!!! Yep, water and electricity! We tried to avoid showering when it looked wet but after the day had passed we just decided that the whole situation wasnt safe and didnt chance showering......lotta good that does you when its June in Florida!!! We called maintanance and down came a nice guy named Robert. He took a look, was also shocked at the water coming out of the light and called someone on his radio about the issue. Then we heard this coming out of the radio "Robert, I'm looking at pipping layout and it looks like the toilet pipe in the room above them is directly over that shower" :faint: :scared1: YIKES!!

BWV took care of us right away, had Bell Service help us with our move, gave us a better view (from the quiet pool 3rd floor) to Luna Pool 5th floor (5094) and comped one of our weekend cash nights! :bitelip:

My husband wanted more and was peeved over the whole thing but I didnt want to be greedy and was happy with how quickly they handled the situation. Peronsally I absolutely love BWV and will stay there again in a heart beat.....

I agree, gross. It may have been just his way of seeing if you were listening to the conversation. I'm glad you/your hubby were OK...
Bobbi:)

We had a similar experience at OKW when we stayed in a building shortly after it was completed...water through the light fixture (although they said it was because the overflow drain in the bathtub above hadn't been properly sealed). They comped us a nice dinner at Olivia's, and fixed the leak so we didn't have to move.

I think giving you a free cash night was very nice compensation.

I like how the staff handled the situation . . . and that you were willing to cut them some slack as accidents do happen and its important as to HOW they are handled. Good for you for being understanding.

I'm glad they comp'ed you, but why did you wait a few days to call? I would have called the minute I saw it, but that's me. Glad it all worked out.:thumbsup2

It is pretty gross but as the saying goes S&*% happens LOL. Sorry, I couldn't resist. I'm pretty much a stickler and I would have been YUCKED to the tenth degree but a free night comped WOW! I expect them to act fast and take some action, which they did. Just think how long it was leaking before someone brought it to their attention. It's as much as the previous guest's fault for not speaking up about it. In the police academy over 20 years ago we were taught when looking for a bad guy what is the 1 place MOST people fail to look? UP! I'd give them a pass esp. with their remedy.

Cheers

Sorry to hear that that happened. Glad to hear that DVC took care of it and gave you some compensation. And it was very nice of you not to react harshly.

I hope that the rest of your stay was truly enjoyable.

The rest of our stay was indeed nice.......BWV is always charming and fun! I never comlain about the long halls or the clown pool ;)

As for the time line, we checking in on a Monday and my husband first noticed some condensation/light drips on Wednesday. He said that he thought it was condensation from the heat of our the shower. He then noticed it hadnt dried up by Thursday afternoon but didnt say anything. On Friday morning it was literally pooring down from the light (thank goodness none of us were in the shower) and thats when we made the phone call.

See, we didnt "wait" on it but instead sort of wrote it off as condensation from our own shower.

I'm glad they handled things well for you.

In May, we had a slightly less gross experience (on the 3rd floor of the quiet pool area, no less :scratchin ) that required attention. Our situation was addressed but their overall attitude (not rude, just indifferent) left something to be desired.

Glad it worked out for you.

Now that's the way a room problem should be handled!!! Glad they took care of it quickly & comped a free night!! :goodvibes

That is gross, but BWV impressed me completely when we were there in January. We got in way late on Wednesday night and when I went to set up the wake up call discovered the phone wasn't working. Went to the front desk, the gentleman there apologized profusely and immediately got a new phone sent to the room. When we returned from the parks Thursday afternoon we found that housekeeping had visited our room free of charge to apologize for the phone.

I am very glad to hear good reports from the BWV! So often we hear only the negative. It sounds like they are really trying to do right by people!
