On Saturday evening we were coming back from my sisters house in Oshawa heading home to Hamilton. As soon as we got on the highway we saw some cars off to the side of the highway and some adults looking down the road as if they were watching for someone or meeting a group bus or something. A little bit more down the road we saw another group. It wasn't until we went under a bridge did we clue in that it was people honoring our fallen hero's who just died at war. They were bringing the bodies of the 3 soldiers who just died home that night and it was truely moving to see all the people who were pulled over and the fire trucks and so many people on the overpasses who were paying their respects. I was thinking that as the family members who were in the limo's came down that highway that it would be such a reassurance to them that their loved ones were respected and honored and it really moved me.
I just wanted to share how much I love Canada for the compassion of the people. We too pulled over and it was really a great thing for the kids to see how much people cared for our fallen hero's.
