You know--the one where you and everyone in your house piles trash in the can until the loser has to break down and take it out? That was me--the trash loser. :headache: I had to take the darn thing out to the large can outside. We'd pushed it down so many times that I was hardly able to get the bag out of the can:laughing: But it's Monday and everyone else is either at school or work and there's no way I can make it til tonight so I broke down. Of course, I am the the only one here who knows where the new bags are and already have put one in.

Does this happen at your house?

Yes it happens to me - with the trash compactor. I always lose. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Us moms always lose. And if by some miracle the kids or DH take out the trash...they can never find an empty bag to replace it....lol

I have this battle with toilet paper. Somehow it's always empty when I go in or, alternatively, there's a new roll on the sink, but I guess the toilet paper holder is just too complicated for my DH and DD to figure out! :rotfl:

My bf does the SAME THING! It drives me nuts!

I always lose the trash stand off.

And then there's the winter fairy who lives in my bathroom:

In my case, it's my dog. He likes to eat toilet paper. He sleeps in the bathroom during the day when we aren't home. He likes to get into things. Case in point: If the dog can get to the toilet paper, he rips it up. It looks like a snowstorm has hit the bathroom. Whiteness everywhere!

So, now we've gotten to hiding the toilet paper. When you go in, you never know where to look, or if you're really out!

My husband takes the trash out of the house all the time. He takes the kitchen bag out daily. He takes the barrel out of the garage every Monday morning, along with the recycling containers. He brings them back in when they are empty. He also vacuums at least 3 times a week, cleans the bathrooms, and keeps the dirt in the back yard neat. He works at least 60 hours a week. He never complains about anything. Our relationship isn't a contest, he does what he does because it needs to be done. Sorry that not everyone has my kind of husband.

I'm speechless--I've heard the myth of this, but never realized that such a man could actually exist.

I always lose the trash ways. Not only that, but apparently DH thinks I must love trash and cleaning up after him. That is the only way I can explain his absolute refusal to throw trash away, even though we have a step to open trash can--he merely need to hold the trash over the can, step on the lever, and let gravity take affect. He also feels that I am the only person who can take the recyclables to the can also. I had a nice pile of cardboard, cans, newspapers, etc. on the island this morning.

I also lose the toilet paper battle along with the light bulb battle.

Face it: I'm just a loser.

Yes, my husband is a neat and clean person. Not a freak per se, but he likes things to be nice. There have been times when he got a bit carried away, like repainting the entire house before his mother came to visit, or changing all the carpets before his mother came to visit (2 different visits), but it's all good.

I do all the recycling input, as we sort it into different containers and that is a concept he doesn't get. If we just had one large recycling barrel, he would be fine with tossing stuff in, but he would also be fine with just using the regular trash. So recycling is my responsibility. I do the laundry, prepare the meals and do the dishes, but I also don't work. I think I have it made!

I'm a loser too! :ssst: (where is that smiley w/the L on the forehead when you need it?!)

Don't forget how the laundry winds up on the floor in front of the hamper, 'cause the hamper doesn't have a step on pedal so it's awfully heavy and too hard to open! :lmao:

Thou doth protest too much Mickeyfan1! :rotfl:

Dirty clothes? They go into the laundry basket in the closet, we each have our own. He will take his to the washing machine either Friday evening or Saturday morning, (I can only wash after 9pm or all day weekends) because his clothes are "heavy", but he lets me schlep my own! I think that pretty dang funny.

Believe me, he has plenty of things I would love to discuss, but my BP would rise!

Glad to see you're coming over to the dark side. :rotfl:

And yes, before someone else pops in, I am jealous and would love for my husband to be a more thoughtful, cleaner person. I admit it! :)

I always lose the trash game at our house. I try to cheat and just put the full bag (tied up) out in the garage, hoping that DH will take it to the outside can for me. He doesn't. I guess if I just let it pile up long enough, he would have to take it out because he couldn't get to his car to go to work! ;)
