Got up early just like Motherfletcher does.;) and went for our usual breakfast. This was the big day. FOTL and the mummy-can you feel the goosebumps? We rode the watertaxi which is delightful everytime. Naturally we headed straight for the new ride and showed our room key and walked right on. I mean right on. I mean on the ride-last row. Totally cool! Unbelievable! You have read how great FOTL is but until you go from ride to ride and go right in you can not imagine the joy. My son was going-"This is sick"! Sick now means cool in college(very confusing). The ride was unreal! I am now going to mention a few details so those of you who don't want to ruin the surprise skip to the next paragraph. Where do I begin? The guys where dressed and acted the part. I wore lime green ribbons on my waistback hoping the Dark Marauder would see me. Anyway, you fly in the last row lots of airborne time. It is not a scary ride though just great visual effects and surprises. The fire intense, the drops, the mummy statues(the hidden King Kong on the upper left in the treasure room). I could go on and on -the scarabs. Everything was so cool. We went on three times with no wait! Go early! My favorite spot was the second row for those of you who don't like it rough. The kids loved the back but it throws you around a little.
Then we walked to Jaws before it got too hot. This is my husband's favorite. We had a great tour guide. I do so love when they get into it. We headed for BTTF. My husbbie and I sat this one out. We relaxed by the water while we waited for the kids. One of those rare alone moments. Now here is where Flyfly would be proud of me. I made everyone walk back in the heat for the Ghostbusters Show. Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed this. We found ourselves laughing out loud and "groovin' to the music". This is also on our not to be missed list. These guys can dance. I love to dance and can appreciate this wonderful show. My 15 yr old daughter thought they were funny and my 21 year old son said he never expected it to be that good. We walked back to MIB where I creamed my son. He was horrified! Mr. Playstation 2 just got killed by his mother. So we of course had to ride again so he could save his reputation. Destroyed him again! Flabbergasted was he! .:p We left then because we had those wonderful passes and FOTL. Also, a cabana rental for my husband's Father's Day gift kept calling us. We had a wonderful poolside lunch. There was a margarita pizza and hot dogs. Pricey but worth doing once. We went back and forth to club for iced coffees and pasteries by the pool and what is that I say? A free demonstration of how to make (and eat:D) a caesar salad. Sooo naturally we have one. My daughter loves salad and so we went back with her. We of course showered and hit the cheeses and smoked meats. I enjoyed a half glass of wine while chatting with a nice family from Staten Island. They get a club room every year for a month. Please adopt me! We left for Nascar where the ribs were becoming an addiction for my son. I wasn't that hungry so I had the potato soup. It was good and comes with bacon bits and shredded cheddar. It was raining so we looked in the shops at the hotel when we returned. The kids went on the computers. My husband sat in the room reading the papers. I had tea and was counting the minutes until cookie time. It was a full day with wonderful memories. Particularly the pictures of me riding the mummy with my head in my armpit. Tomorrow is going to be tough for my daughter and I because we go to Islands and we kinda made this promise not to be chicken. So Dragons, Hulk, and Dr. Doom here we come. Please God let me live! We hope you can join us.:D

Good job beating 21 YO Mr. PS2 on MIB! Did he recover? My son would contemplate suicide if his Mother beat him on MIB. He hasn't beat me since his 15th birthday and refuses to read any of the tips. Oh well, his little sister is has beat him a couple of times by listening to Dad.
Did your hubbie do Mummy? All 3 times? Didn't get motion sickness? I missed the Kong thing when I rode. Probably because I was looking for the barf bags. Too bad I'll never see it!
Can't wait to hear the early bird catch the front row of the Incredible Hulk!

We are planning a trip WDW for 4 days and

Universal Studios for 2 days and plan to move to a hotel on the
property- I have been able to find information on this or
package deals. Please help me plan

Welcome prospector. You might get more info on what you are looking for on the Universal Hotels and Resorts Forum rather than from the Trip Reports Forum.
Read the Date and Rate thread as well as the ones for Hard Rock, Portofino and Royal Pacific.
There are quite a few of us that will answer your questions over there.

Motherfletcher- I have been constantly teased since my first surf as a Diser by my kids. I hear "oh did your Diser friends tell you that"? I've heard a lot of others here say the same. Well, my point is that night while he was on the computer I noticed he was on disboards checking out the MIB hints. Words cannot express the evil grin on my face as i said "so watchs doin"? and seeing his face. Oh a mother's joy! He kicked my butt after that but it was ok because I could say- yea but you were on disboards.
No, my husband punked after ride 1. And a big no to the front row on Hulk! Are you nuts!!! This is me we're talking about. middle and center. If I'm going to die I want security.

That is too funny! My kids tear me up so bad about the Dis that I only do it at work. Once at home the dog came in the office and begged to be let out and while I was letting him out my son was reading the threads. When I got back he said that I had to get a life because he was reading where grown men were begging to get "tagged" by a fairy. Then when we we went to the Mummy opening I told the kids there was a Dis Meet and they tore me up. When we were waiting at the Monster's Cafe they were ordering Dis Meat sandwiches and laughing. My daughter, though, has watched the Dis DVD that Barry gave us several times.
I did the front row of the Hulk!

Oh I was so hoping to meet a Diser on vacation. I wore my lime green ribbon everywhere. I had asked on the boards if anyone was going at the same time but no one answered. I still e-mail the nicest person you could ever meet that became my friend on a disney cruise. I hope to see her again one day.
And as for the front row- you brave thing! But the question is -did you ever ride again?:p
The abuse we Disers have to take from our kids. But they thought it was sooo sweet with our ENT room and food gift cert, etc. They wish they had our knowledge. Too funny about guys being tagged by the fairy. I have to tell them that one.
Hint hint- I could use a new tag. How bout' lives for club!::yes::

Great report ~ Thanx for sharing.

How about this for plan,

6 days at WDW and no days at U.Studies.
We have a deal to buy a star and stripes pass
and to hope all the wdw parks, so I planning to just go
for 6 days and No u. studies. Do you think we miss much
by not going to U>S.

i think that would depend on the ages of your kids. If they are too young this may not be enjoyable.

With it being the first time the 4 parks at Disney are a lot to take in. We did that for a few years then when the kids got older and had seen everything we added US and then eventually Isl.

The kids have never seen WDW and I was thinking, we take them and see it all and then go US for next year or 2. I am not sure if they would have fun. Their are so many parks and rides,
that I don't think that it could be down in 4 days. This way we can hop from park to park all day long back and forth. what do think.

Those ages are screaming for the thrills of Islands of Adventure.
My kids are 10 and 16 and have preferred US/IOA for a few years now. Their rides are much more dazzling, eye-popping, heart stopping, knock your socks off, high-tech, loud, fast, high energy, state of the arts thrill rides or experiences describes it a little better.
WDW can not compete. Tower of Terror is their best ride.
IOA has Spiderman which has been called the best theme park ride in the world. The 400' sensory drop is awesome. The Hulk and Dueling Dragons are the coaster freak's coasters. IOA has been called the Magic Kingdom on steroids.
Universal is still my favorite park. Men In Black is a video game that you ride, shoot aliens and compete with another car and those in your car. T2 is an amazing 3D experience. The Mummy employs the newest thrill ride technology on the planet.

Like you say "With all the different parks to go to..." Why not take them to the best?

How can you argue with that. He is better than the commercials!!:p
