Woke up to another really hot and sunny day. We left early after another breakfast at concierge. I won't bore you with the details - it seems I'm ruining some people's diets. Sorry! If it makes you feel better I came home a few? pounds heavier. We wore our bathings suits because of the water ride in AK. We went directly to Dinosaur and walked through twice. God, I love people that sleep late. Then we did the dinorama. It was rougher then I remember. My husband and I sat out round 2, but the kids enjoyed it a lot. Then we did Kali River Rapids. The line was kinda long but the idea of getting drenched kept me going. It was terrific! Water splashing up and everyone laughing and trying to predict who the next victim would be. So of course we rode again. Naturally to accomodate those who were just drizzled upon. We left AK feeling refreshed and hopped in the car to Epcot. We arrived and searched for our pictues on the wall. It makes us feel special to know we are there. How stupid are we? We went for fastpasses and were able to ride Mission Space after Test Track. First, let me say test track is really great when you are wet. The wind is whipping when you are doing 60 and that is great when its 93 and humid. Mission Space was next and I'm sorry to say my family was disappointed. All that hype and its just ok. Hubbie felt sick and the rest of us didn't really think it lived up to the commercial. The feeling in your chest is like having difficulty breathing. But that is just our humble opinion. We then went to eat in the Garden Grill. This is not where we usually eat. In the past, we have enjoyed the various selections from the Sunshine Food Court. But we are putting the grill on our not to be missed list. We asked for a revolving table(read it on the Dis) and were seated in 5 minutes. Our waiter was excellent-drinks right away and very friendly. The food was served family style. It included catfish, sliced beef, chicken, corn on the cob, bread, strawberry shortcake and I'm surely forgetting something. We opted for no catfish. Our platter was promptly refilled many times. It was one of the nicest meals ever. You revolve so slowly around the lands and it is so serene. After dining we went to Universe of Energy. A long ride to digest by. Then we went to see the world. We rode Norway and on the way to Mexico everyone was really feeling the heat. We had exceptionally hot days. So we left for a little pool time. The water slide at PBH is so great! We did it a million times then went over to the quiet pool by the villa wing. One of those predictable thunderstorms blew in so we showered and then headed for antipasto hour. It became our dinner. We sat around the hotel and read for the rest of the evening. The sun was getting the better of us. I think the most important thing is know when you have had enough. You need some down time and this time we were smart enough to realize it. I fell asleep listening to some Italian music in my Portofino bed. This was not turned down and didn't have chocolates on the pillow. In fact, housekeeping got a big zero everyday! Beds one day not even made after 2 calls to star service and it was 7 P.M. We paid for turndown and complained so they sent someone on our last night. Big flop. I'm not a complainer. All I want is a made bed and a clean towel after swimming. Even after speaking to club staff and the front desk the problem continued. But what the heck tomorrow FOTL and the mummy!! Please join us for what we consider "the best ride ever"! :wave2:

sounds like u had a lot of fun and hey I love hearing the details of the meals gives me ideas for our trip a pity about the service of housekeeping it may be minor but its 5 star resort so u expect 5 star service everyday without any excuse:jester:

Thanks for the encouraging words. I will try to list every morsel!:p

great reading!

i am not a complainer either ...but if i pay big bucks (to me) at a hotel then i at least expect the beds to be made- i always make a point of cleaning up the room before we leave each morning and i leave a $5.00 tip for housekeeping, daily

we had no problems at RPR- the housekeeping was really good- but if not and it happened two days in a row i would ask to speak to housekeeping management

but, no sense letting stuff like that get to you- you are on vacation!! who needs to make beds:teeth:

It is great to read about someone who appreciates opening the parks and the importance of arriving early! I agree- Sleep in everyone!
Mission Space not only made me sick (which is pretty easy) but it made both of my kids sick and they never get sick.
My son and I rode the Universe of Energy the weekend after 9/11 when a hurricane was crossing the State. We were the only ones on a ride that holds 600. We ate breakfast at the grill and since no one was there Pluto came and just sat at the table with us. The funny thing was when we got there they asked if we had PS's. We looked over their shoulder at the empty revolving dining room and laughed.
You must have got the wrong floor because our housekeeper was great. We even got a chance to practice our Spanish with her. I hate it when they haven't cleaned the room by 2 pm. I would have been visiting the maid's station.
Ready for the Mummy...

Everyone in the lounge on the 6th floor was complaining. I tried giving a huge tip as an incentive and it was like flushing it down the toilet. I began hoarding extra towels in drawers. After a visit to the front desk manager who called housekeeping manager a note was made that the next day my room was to be done by 11. What a laugh! At 3 it was still not done and I then spoke to club staff who sent someone right away. I didn't let it ruin my vacation but it was annoying. By the way I had mentioned the name Motherfletcher to my kids who couldn't remember it and enjoyed listening for it during the Shrek show. My dream is to arrive at an empty park so cool. My other dream is to live in Florida so I can go to the parks often.

Great report ~ Thanx for sharing.
