I Like To Move It - The Video Thread

Ha!

I love the guy behind you in line pointing like "look that guys going to use his camear on the slide!"

VBB has add-ins to support inline videos in posts, if that's what you're referring to. It does not appear that any of these plug-ins are installed on the DIS VBB system so there's no practical way to insert a "live" (read: paused frame with a play button, etc.) video into a post here.

Personally, I wish they would add it. Always wondered why they didn't, but I guess no one has asked. It takes about 15 minutes to do as I just added it on one of my test systems a few weeks ago.

Maybe we should start a thread in the comments section or maybe a mod will see this thread and respond.

Didn't work. Just making sure the most popular option wasn't already installed unbeknownst to us.

The real challenge here is that you must link to a site that has an embedded player. Simply posting a link to a .mov or the like isn't enough. There are add-ins to do that too but they are much more involved to install in VBB and have some overhead associated with keeping them up since CODECS change all the time.

I spent last Saturday at our local Civil War Reenactment which is the largest West of the Mississippi. I was complete with Union and Confederate camps and included three battles. I put together a slide show today for my daughters class and thought that I would share. You can choice your resolution but I would recommend Med-Def and make sure to watch full screen. Made this with Lightroom Slideshow which I have not used before. Simple to use once you figure it out. Will probably use it more in the future.

I just finished taking a film and video class. It gave me a whole new respect for film makers. In addition to the technical aspects like focus, depth of field, framing, exposure, noise... you have to worry about continuity in your story, continuity with the framing and dealing with actors... And having an interesting story to start with. It made me glad I deal with still images most of the time.

Anyway... here's my final project from my class. It's got a big honkin continuity error but it might make you laugh.

I liked it alot :thumbsup2

The bread on fire :lmao:

All these videos look great from the SLR cameras.

So why would one buy a new camcorder?

My video was shot with a Canon XL1. Though because I sized it down for the web you can't really tell.

A couple of people in my class shot with T2i's and their video looked good, but it I noticed they did have a lot of issues with dynamic range. Though that could probably be overcome somewhat with the right filter.

Shutterbug-- the bread on fire was a total accident. He was just supposed to loose it onto the rack. But it ended up being the best part of the film. LOL

I was waiting for the fire extinguisher to come out and turn the kitchen into a mess :rotfl:
