I like the MDE app update, but

Lots of great updates, you can view all of your charges right through the app, and you can keep track of your dining plan credits.

The only change I'm not crazy about - I liked to go to the Disney website in Safari (the browser, not the attraction ) for certain things. Now, it appears to roll directly from Safari into the app, rather than giving me the option to stay in Safari. I'm guessing I can turn that off, but haven't figured out how yet. This will be inconvenient, for instance, when trying to book CRT, because the app won't accept dining reservations for CRT through the app (but it would through Safari)

Otherwise, I like the new features.

I updated the app on my iPhone but don't seem to have this problem. It DID suggest I go to the app when I went to the website in safari but I ignored it. I do hate when that happens, though; I have that problem with Amazon--can't go to the site on my browser without the app kicking in. I bet there's a setting for that but darned if I know. Sorry I can't be more helpful, just commiserating!

Adding that I like the new features on the app nOw so much-- we don't do dining Plan but that is helpful for those who use it, and seeing your charges is awesome--no more waiting in line at the front desk for that weird print out.

I just tried to go to the site and it switched me to the app. If you're on an iPhone in the top right corner of your screen it will say "go.com" touch that and it will take you to the website!

When safari redirects to an app, look to the upper right and you will see a website link (Amazon.com for instance). If you tap the website link, it will take you back to the website and should also remember your choice so that it doesn't happen repeatedly. For me, TripAdvisor doesn't remember and always opens in the app, but other apps like Amazon always work in the website.

My phone won't make new FP+ reservations since the update. It gets to "Checking Friends & Family" and then I get "Disney App Closed" and I end up back at the main screen. I can see my existing FP+ reservations and can make reservations using the website.

I use Chrome instead of Safari. It never does that. Just another idea

I just tried on the app to see if I was able to book FP and I could. Are you using iOS or Andriod?
Hopefully, it's just temporary and it works for you quickly

That feature is activated after you have done online check-in (or in person check in at your resort).

click on where it says online checkin info received. then you'll see check dining plan, view charges etc.
