I found out yesterday that I have a badly herniated disc in my neck. I have been through this before and had surgery to repair it. This new problem is the disc right above the one I had fused. The report also said that the one above that is slightly damaged as well. I now have to fit in a visit to a neuro surgeon to my already busy pre-vacation schedule.

I thought about cancelling the trip, but if I don't get a Disney fix now I am going to go stark raving mad. I guess this will be the trip to skip BTMRR and enjoy all the shows, swim, do all the calm rides and eat myself silly. Then and only then will I be able to face the possibliity of more surgery.

Thanks for listening......

Linda

Well, a relaxing trip is better than no trip at all. Take care of yourself. WDW will be always be there, so be careful and don't take any chances with your health!!

So sorry to hear that, Linda, knowing all you have been through, what a bummer. Do take it easy, don't push yourself. Maybe you can sing a song of joy while there, for those waiting in those long queue lines.

I went pregnant this past May. So I had to take it easy to. I dont regret it at all! A relaxed trip to Disney is better than no trip at all!!!

 :grouphug:

I think this is the trip where I am SUPPOSED to learn to relax. I tend to be a bit like the energizer bunny when I am there and that just won't be possible on this trip. Funny how things happen when you need to learn them, isn't it?

Ouch. I can relate to your situation (although I didn't require surgery to correct my disc). My wife badly herniated a disc in her lower back just prior to our 1997 vacation to Maui. Thankfully she was able to recover enough in time for our trip that she was able to enjoy herself.

Take it easy. And keep your eyes peeled for a balding middle-aged guy with a bad limp and lime green ribbons while you're there. Hope to see you around the parks.

:( Talk about bad timing, huh? Well, you still go to WDW and soak up all the magic you can. As real WDW nuts know, there's LOTS to do that won't take a toll on your body. Have fun and give the Mouse a hug for me.:D

 Hope you're not in too much pain. Like onecoolmama, I went to WDW 5 months pregnant in March 2003 and had a great time. It was such a relaxing trip! I didn't miss riding the "thrill" rides as much as I tought I would. And I sure did enjoy all the snacking! ;)

When we went last month, my sister had just had a bad car accident and had a compression fracture in her vertebrae - she still had a blast, just took is slowly and rested alot! =)
