I know this is a repeat, but what is offered at Boardwalk Concierge?

Another one undecided as to concierge or not. Can someone tell me exactly what was offered in the lounge during your stay?

I don't know about food offerings, but I have to tell you that concierge service is much more than the food. It all begins months before your trip. The concierge staff in the planning office helps you make your plans and gets your PS for you. They can even book special things, like fireworks cruise, special tours, character meals (OK, like a PS, but they can get the "hard" ones).

They have even been known to do a little shopping for you (with your money of course) in order to arrange some special surprises to show up in your room.

They can provide you with advice about restaurants and all that goes on in the parks and resorts.

My wife and I are so glad we are doing concierge for our upcoming trip. With the two of us working and having to get the kids out the door just about 7:00 AM Eastern time. There would have been no way we could have gotten some of the really tough PS, like CRT.

I stayed at BWC in 2000 and hated the food offerings. It wasnt my first stay in Concierge...also stayed at GF and Poly. BW paled in comparison. The morning was fine with pastries and bagels, but the afternoon was popcorn, chips and candies. Afternoon offerings at the other two were far better...little sandwiches, meats, veggies. For me, if I'm paying an extra $150/night, I better get something better than chips and popcorn!

Unless it has changed, save your money. Totally not worth it.

We are staying BWI CL in a couple of weeks, I can post the offerings when I return. BTW, most of the CL's have only "snack" items in the afternoon, including M & M's, cookies, gummies, chips, lemonade, tea, etc. The evening is when they provide hors d'oeuvres such as egg rolls, low mein, chicken and beef skewers, hummus, cheese, fruit, vegetables and dip, etc. The reports I've gotten of BWI has been comparable, although different than the Asian-inspired food at the Poly or the African-influenced food at the AKL.

I totally agree with GoofyJoofy, for us, the CL experience is far more than the food offerings. The superior service and excellent planning resources are what make it worth it! And the BWI IPO has been outstanding in that regard. They helped us get an Illuminations cruise just weeks from our stay!

Good luck with your planning!

Edited for spelling!

Just wanted to say that we've stayed at both BWI and Poly concierge and while the Poly did have little PBJ roundwiches for the kids and sometimes sandwiches around lunchtime the BWI concierge still beat them hands down. The Poly lounge was like a daycare while we were there (and we have kids too). I saw numerous kids dropped off by their parents to watch cartoons and eat goldfish, etc... while smooshing them into the floor and couch. Made me not want to spend any time there at all. On the other hand while at the BWI there didn't seem to be as many young kids (mine were 4 & 8) and the ones that there were behaved appropriately.

I guess it just depends on what you want - everyone is different.

We've always been very pleased with the food offerings at the BWI concierge lounge. We were there 7/7-17:

Breakfast: bread for toast, bagels, cream cheese, pastries, muffins, cereal, milk, juice, etc.

Midday Snack: hummus, cream cheese and chive dip, breads, fish, M&Ms, small peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, mixed nuts, lemonade, iced tea, soft drinks and bottled water (fewer people are in the lounge during the day, so they don't go all out)

Teas and Sweets: delicious tea sandwiches and mini-pastries

Wine and Cheese: several varieties of wine, a great assortment of cheeses, fruit, crudite platter and dip, crackers, hot appetizer, soft drinks, etc.

Desserts and Cordials: huge variety of cordials (Godiva, Amaretto, Bailey's, etc.), delicious desserts (tiramisu, fruit tarts), chocolate covered strawberries

The food is constantly being refreshed by the AWESOME CMs and is very plentiful.

The concierge service and itinerary planning are second to none. The food is just an added (delicious) bonus.

I've just booked our first stay at the BW Concierge and can only hope its as good as WL and POLY. We'll be heading down for our second annual MNSSHP in October.

Any tips on getting a Boardwalk View Room?? I think the view would be awesome at night!

We'll be there for the first time in late Oct but I can tell you that the concierge staff have already helped me so much with planning (PS, Illuminations cruise) that I aleady feel that it's been worth it. Probably the time of year you plan to travel is a factor here -i.e. much easier to get PS on your own in Sept than it is at Christmas. Also, concierge can get you PS under the 90 day mark so if you are doing a trip w/shorter notice they can really help you out. And as for the food, if you are a family of 4 or 5 or 6, whatever, you have to figure in how much you could save on breakfast, snacks, coffee, etc. That amount of $$ plus the assisstance that the staff can provide will, IMHO, make it very worthwhile.
