Hi

Looking for ways to make alittle extra money......

What is your opinion of Sunshine Rewards vs Mypoints.....

Which one do you like better and why? Or is there another way you like to make a little extra money.......

I'm already saving all the change in the house along with saving dollar bills....that adds up FAST:goodvibes

Thanks!!

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

I much prefer MyPoints. I joined Sunshine Rewards and didn't really "get it". I may not have put enough time into seeing what all was available, but I don't get surveys at all, and didn't see where it was really doing anything for me. With MyPoints I've been on there for about a year and a half, gotten three different $50 gift cards. And I have really only been "using" it about a year. The shopping it what really helps and in the past year is when I've started doing most of my shopping through the net. The tool bar keeps me from forgetting when I shop to sign in. I get 5-8 emails a day that I click on, most 5 points each. I do the surveys, a few a week. Most I don't qualify for so I get 10 points for doing them, you get 50 if you do qualify. If you do a lot online, I'd say it'll work well for you for some extra $$$.

I mostly do Sunshine Rewards. I have three chances for a survey a day, even if I don't qualify. They have "freebie" offers as well as free clicks, etc. I also do shopping. I like that the credits = $. SR also has great customer service and a message board of friendly helpful people.

I do My Points for the paid e-mails, two searches on the site a day for points and my Bzz Agent points. Occasionally I'll do an offer it is not available on SR if I am interested. I don't like the point system as I can't figure out how much a point is... Is five points a penny?

If you scroll down from the the budget board, there is a section on the bottom for "Disney Reward Programs." Lots of information and opinions there.

I tried both Sunshine Rewards and MyPoints. Found MyPoints easier to use. I don't do a lot of online shopping but have been able to get a lot of points from clicking on the offers for 5 points or taking surveys (about 10 points each b/c I generally don't qualify). Also, pleanty of offers to sign up for to get points. As PP said, didn't quite get Sunshine rewards. I liked the idea of earning $$, but never got any surveys or offers from them.

Good luck w/ your savings. I'm also saving loose change and just started saving up dollars bills at the end of the week.

Same here.... I've gotten a few hundred dollars in gift cards from MyPoints, but with SR I've earned over $1500 in 3 years, all cashed in for Disney gift cards!

Tricia and her team offer the best customer service :thumbsup2 One of the most important things to do if you really want to earn more, though, is to join the SR FORUM... great resource for all the tips and tricks... very friendly folks there will help you get started and answer any questions which come up along the way :goodvibes

I vote for Sunshine. Not only have I earned more money there, the customer service is top notch! Tricia and her crew try really hard to make sure you get the credits you earn!

Also, just a heads up, mypoints has been cancelling a lot of accounts without warning. They recently cancelled mine with no warning and no explanation. I emailed them 3 times and they will only reply with a form email. I had close to 3000 points and they are GONE! After it happened, I googled closed mypoints account and found that it is happening to a lot of people. There is even a post on the Disney Rewards Programs section about it. It seems like they are claiming people have violated terms of service but conveniently refusing to say what they have done. It also seems like 3000 points is the "magic number" for getting your account cancelled. Some complaints I found suggested that the bad economy may have hurt them and they need to re-coup some $$$! Beware Mypoints!

I've been happy with Mypoints but it takes a while to really earn much. But I don't particpate in EVERYTHING, so that might be why. They do send lots of emails and you get points for each of those that you click on, so that can start to add up.

I prefer mypoints as well. I'm another one that doesn't quite "get" SR and I joined the forums and got very confused with the instructions to clear cookies before you shop and trying to do surveys, etc. It's just easier with mypoints, you click on their link to shop and get credited and can use whatever coupon codes you have, everything is much more cut and dried.

Plus I bought a computer through SR and never got credited the points for it. I followed the instructions and was eventually told politely that I was out of luck, I wasn't getting the credit for it :confused3. That soured me on the program, I want to know that if I shop through the site I'm going to get credit.

ETA: Another one I've recently started doing is Swagbucks. You install their toolbar and use them for searches and "win" swagbucks. It takes alot to cash out, the best deal seems to be for $5 Amazon GC's, I've gotten $20 in those since December. It's not much, but it was easy, I got credit for doing what I would've done anyway.

I use MP for paid emails and the 5 point things on their site, and for the occasional offer/shopping that isn't offered on SR. I've earned a few RFC cards and I believe a JCP card over the last 3 years.

I use SR for online shopping (and I do a lot of that), surveys, some of the "here's my info, gimme my 50 cents" type offers, etc. I'm over 1100 in the last almost 3 years.

FYI, clearing cookies etc before shopping is so that the click-thru credits because they can show that you clicked through SR instead of somewhere else you went (that you might not have known was a site that leaves cookies). It should be the same with MP. They are a bit more lenient in giving earnings without a hassle, but then again, they've been canceling accounts, haven't they?
