I know requests are just requests, but I'm 0/2 this trip

Were doing a split stay, WL and POR. For WL my only request was "not the 4th floor" for a standard room. Guess what we got? 4th floor. They did reassign us, but it wasn't easy.

At POR I requested a third floor room, or an AB room. Neither. I didn't ask to be reassigned at POR, because it's not that big a deal since we won't keep the blinds open, but I would have liked it.

I'm so sorry. That is a bummer, especially since your requests were pretty small and would seem easy to accommodate.

I've never had any luck with asking to be moved. Did you have to wait until the next day for the switch?

If you don't mind me asking, what is bad about the 4th floor at WL? I've not stayed there yet but it is on our list.

I hope you are having a great trip!

Wow! Seems that the majority of rooms would have satisfied your requirements. How did you make your requests? I wonder if somehow they got mixed up (the POR request going to WL and the WL request going to POR).

Unless touring plans made a mistake, there couldn't have been a mixup.

I don't think the 4th floor WL standard rooms face MK, which was important to us. We were only spending one night because we had to change our flight, which added a day, so we splurged.

They did move us immediately, and the CM checking in said he could see that we requested no 4th floor, so he didn't really have any answer about it.

Did you only use the TP fax request? I've found that I have better luck when I (or my TA if using one) call Disney and have my request noted on my reservation. I usually do both, but on the times where I've only used TP, I didn't get anything close to what I requested.

I'm only at around 50% for ever getting my requests. I've learned it is better to not expect you will get them, and instead be happy if you do.

I bet that the room assigner misread and thought you were requesting the 4th floor. Sorry things didn't go smoothly!

I just came back from Caribbean Beach and didn't get any of the three things I requested. I was a little bummed the first night because I felt like I got the exact opposite of what I asked for, but in the end the vacation was wonderful and the room location was just fine and not nearly as far from stuff as I was led to believe. I had requested via telephone call to Disney, Jamaica bldg 42 courtyard. I knew it was specific and I wouldn't likely get exactly that but I ended up with Aruba bldg 53 which doesn't have a courtyard. As I said I was a tad grumpy the first night (could have been tired from traveling) but was so impressed with the size of the room (and with 5 adults it was still roomy) that in the end I didn't care and at least there was a coke free style machine in that building.

Just as an FYI, 4th floor std rooms at WL, right now until Woods View is a category again, do face MK. Some of them have pretty good views of the castle and fireworks, especially in the middle of the wing. Had room 4026 in February and it had great views if you looked out or up ;) They were working on the cabins then, so looking down was construction.

My request last trip were very far from what we received -At BWV- requested high floor away from clown pool closest to swan and dolphin - what we got was first floor right looking at that creepy clown. We went to the CM when we got the room ready text and she took a little bit but was able to get 5th floor in the same location.

I've been dozens of times, have only been granted 1 request (hurt knee, close to lobby)
I never expect anything!
