I've heard that it does get crowded during the Presidents' Day holiday week but I'm wondering how crowded? Are there any days that are better to hit the parks and how about stays at BCV?

I'm looking at next year's calendar and my daughter will be in Kindergarten next year and of course, her mid-winter break falls during the week of Presidents's Day. If we choose that week, are we going to be in for long lines and crowds at the pool?

Thanks,

Deb

We went 3 years ago this week and it was crowded much of the week. On the Saturday, MK stopped letting people in around 4 PM. It was our first DVC trip, so the crowds didn't bother us. We made a point to enjoy ourselves.
My kids were 6 and 4 and a midday break was a must. This gets you out of the parks at a crowded time and you can all relax for a couple of hours. Early enrty is also back and that works great for little kids.
I wouldn't be too concerned with the crowds, just enjoy yourself.

We were there last year during President's week - it does get very crowded, but manageable. We are going Easter week this year -- I have been there before during Easter and it is crazy - twice as bad as President's week I think. Anyway, we must travel on school vacations. We plan to go President's week 2004.

Prez's week is not all that bad, really. It is fine if you use a good plan of attack. Go early and avoid midday at the MK, that was the only low on our trip two years ago.

Be sure and check with your school board before you make your reservations because normally our district is off during President's week, but this year we're off the week following it. Also, post your question again next week, that way you can hear from all those down there right now after they return (as to crowds, etc.). ~:D~

We were at MK this past Sunday (2/16) by 11am, there was a 2 person deep snaking line to get onto TTA in Tomorrowland - if that gives you any indication...

Here's how bad it looked...

We were at MK on Sunday and this past Friday. Friday was more bearable, Sunday wasn't really too bad for someone who normally goes during off-peak times.

When we left around 1:00 you could actually walk down Main Street without having to dodge heavy crowds, (they were probably in Tomorrowland:D!, but it's all relative.

If you use fastpass and go early you'll be fine. It wasn't as bad as I thought. Most popular rides were 20-30 minute waits without fastpass.

I would not go during President week if you don't have to. With a child in kindergarten, just take her out. They don't miss much at that age. My daughter is going on 7 and I have taken her out in Sept., her first month in kindergarten nad then again in January. Just her her out again the last week in January for our cruise.
In talking to her teacher, she said the BEST time to take a child out is in November and in May. Nov, because it is a short month and not really a learning month and May because everything is winding down and not much of a starting anything new month.
We encourage our daughter to read a lot on vacation and to make a daily journal.

I'm leaving tommorow, hoping it won't be too terrible, but I hear this past weekend was pretty packed. Guess Code Orange didn't scare anyone off. Good for Disney, good for USA, bad for someone hoping for thin lines! ;)

I'll give you a report when I return. Last time I did WDW was just after 9/11 and it was deserted, but I'm also a veteran of Disneyland in July, so I know how bad it can get. It's pretty great, crowds or no, and better than staying here in the ugly, graying slushy remains of Monday's beautiful blizzard!

I just returned and it was just as crowded as any summer week in my opinion. Long lines, etc. It wasn't as busy late last week, but by Saturday, the crowds were there in full force. I've been there the past 3 summers, and I've never seen the resort parking lots this crowded!!! The pools were crowded, but not as much as summer, because it wasn't steaming hot. The warmest it got to was 80 on Saturday, and the pool was crowded that day. Some days it was only a high of 68, a little too chilly in my opinion for the pools. The weather was great, but I still prefer the summer.

Hey Jen D

That's my name too and we are also going on a mother/daughter trip. I posted about it earlier on this board but no one has answered me. I can't decide whether to go this sat/sun or wait until my original plan's date of March 15. Well I hope you two have a great time. :D

Just got back last night from 7 days. We were at MK on Fri the 14th and it was busy. But MK is always busy and we were there in July. I did not think it was that bad at all overall though. It was just me and my son this time and we had the greatest time ever! AK on Sat was fine, Epcot on Sunday and MGM on Monday. We used fastpass on the major attractions and saw all the parades. Got front row center seats for the 8:30p Fantasmic on Monday and did NOT wait ahead of time. Got front row Lion King show on Sat. and my son got in the end part with the kids. GREAT trip. I have nothing negitive to say about any part of the trip. I really
do not understand almost all the critisism on these boards about WDW.
