We own at the AKL and usually stay at the BWV in a 1BR with a BW view. This is the first year it wasn't available at the 7 month mark and it doesn't look like the wait list is going to come through. I have been thinking about adding on for some time now and after this I am leaning more towards buying at the Boardwalk. But I would hate to pay the premium price for the BW and still not be able to land a 1BR Boardwalk View at the 11 month mark. As I said the busiest time of the year that we would go would be the first or second week of December. I don't think we would ever go to Disney over a holiday week (due to business and Disney crowd levels).

Thanks!

If you own at BWV, and call at 11 months I think you're very very likely to get what you want! We own there and so far have always gotten a studio or a 2 bedroom standard view starting 2-4 days before NYE and through January 1-3.

That may not be exactly what you want, but 1 bedrooms are the last to go, so it's been mentioned here.

Best wishes!

I'm a BWV owner and have managed a standard room during the first couple of weeks of December. I imagine your changes are good for the BW view too.

If you want to book early December and you call at 9am on the day your 11-month window opens you should be fine.

October is another busy time (F&W) and we managed to book most of the nights we needed in a 1BR Boardwalk View 9 months out. I had to waitlist for a night in the middle of our stay but it eventually came through two months later.

I've owned at BWV since 1999 and have never been denied a standard or boardwalk view 1 bedroom at 11 months for early December, I've gone several times. No matter what time of year I've gone there has always been one available, I even got a standard 1 bedroom at 7 months for late April.

We own at BWV. We have had no problem calling 11 months out there and getting boardwalk view anytime of year including early December or even NYE.

I am not sure what you mean by the "premium price" for BWV. You should check out resale if you intend to buy since asking prices are in the mid-$60s per point.

I was unable to book a SV Studio at 11 months out for early December when I did not call until several hours after MS opened. When I called the next day at opening, I was able to book a SV Studio. I generally find SV harder to book than BWV. Between calling when MS opens at 11 months and even a little flexibility, you shoudl be fine. -- Suzanne

We own at OKW and have stayed at BWV twice (had the red view from the map below- both times). I think it's getting more and more difficult to do that now. If you buy BWV, you should be fine. I wish we bought BWV or BCV. We've been looking to add on, but only need about 50 more points. I'd love to get BWV or BCV or even BLT, but I don't want just 50 points there. I wonder if Disney would use my 200 OKW points towards us buying 250 BLT points? I don't think so, but that would be nice.

The Boardwalk views only account for about 20% of the resort, so they are more of a challenge to book. If you have the home resort booking priority and call early, though, you'll be in the best position to grap one. Getting one in early December won't require quite as much aggressive planning as it would during F&W Festival, but just realize that owning at BWV won't be a magic ticket. There's a chance that you might still get to explore other resorts or views if the Boardwalk view doesn't come through. It will certainly be fewer and farther between than you'd experience trying to book the same room at the 7-month point.
