I know Movies aren't Real Life, but...

... I am watching "Something's Gotta Give" and all I can do is drool over Diane Keaton's beach house. Am I alone? Is this the kind of envy that men experience when they see a guy driving a bigger vehicle? I'm not an envier (yes it's a word!) by nature, but I haven't felt this way since I first saw "The Ghost & Mrs. Muir" and fell in love with their cottage!

What's YOUR favorite movie house??

:cloud9:

I only saw a tad bit of "Something's Gotta Give" and yes, that house is beautiful...how about the house Susan Sarandon and her kids live in in "STEP-MOM" w/Julia Roberts...that house is awesome!!!

How about the home in "Wedding Crashers" where they spend the weekend...really awesome...on the water as well!!!

It is late or I probably could come with a million more...but those two movies I just saw recently hence them coming to mind! :goodvibes

I always pictured myself on a plantation like Tara in Gone With the Wind. Rooms to run around in land as far as the eye can see.

The American President made it look like the White House would be pretty cool to live in. Do I have visions of grandeur or what?

But I also liked the beach house in Mr. Hobb's Takes a Vacation. Shows that I am perfectly at home slumming it, too. :thumbsup2

Most of the old movies had beautiful houses. They were fantasies. They knew their audiences didn't want to look at a dump. :rotfl:

Oh, I do this too. I love craftsman style houses and it seems there are a lot of them in movies. "Must love dogs" comes to mind.

I have to stop myself and realize what we see as a house is probably a compilation of half a dozen different homes/sets. Still....

I love craftsman, too.... like the house they used in "30 Something"

I really love the house in "Something's Gotta Give" too. I also really liked the house in Mrs.Doubtfire.

I couldn't agree more with these statements! I adore old movies.

I loved Kate Hepburn's house in The Philadelphia Story. And Bogie and William Holden's house in Sabrina.

Hehe, someone should suggest the house from Sunset Blvd. What a creepy place!

I went crazy for the house in The Incredibles. It was just amazing!!! Beautiful California-modern :goodvibes .

I've watched "Something's Gotta Give" a few times lately (since it's been on tv) because of that house! I LOVE that house! That house is so me! The other houses mentioned are nice too, but that beach house is exactly the kind of house I dream of! Yeah, I guess it is like what guys think of about cars! :lmao:

Something's Gotta Give is a great movie! I think Diane and Jack make a great movie couple!

I loved the house/mansion from the movie Clueless! I could live there, no problem!

I loved the house in Casper. Hey it was cool. Loved the foyer floor.
