I know many will find this to be a dumb question

but, as a banana-hater I need to ask.

Is it possible to get Tonga Toast without bananas? It looks so yummy on the outside!

That's a good question. I don't like banana's either. I think it's because I grew up in Hawaii and the only thing that grew well in our backyard was banana trees.

Just say NO to

I'm not sure about that, but other restaurants have similar items to what you are describing. You could go to CP and try their puffed french toast. It has the cinnamon and sugar coating, but no bananas. I know that's not exactly what you are asking, but it's the only option I could think of.

and I don't know the answer to the OP, but the puffed french toast is :thumbsup2

Not a dumb question at all. I love bananas, but not cooked bananas. I threw out most of my Tonga toast and my DH didn't eat any of his because the hot, cooked bananas made it nasty. It would have been soooo good without the bananas. I'm bettin' they can make it that way.

Boatwright's at POR has banana stuffed french toast...it's just like Tonga Toast only served with a strawberry banana sauce....BUT...they also have this:
French Toast - battered baguettes tossed in cinnamon and sugar with choice of bacon, sausage or ham $7.99 Sounds good to me!:)

I dont think its a dumb question at all especially since most of us dont know the answer(including me). I have vacationed with people who have limitations in their diet and any restaurant that we visited was very acommodating, so I am sure that the  bananas:banana: could be replaced with something else

Not a dumb question and I'm glad you asked because after seeing hundeds and hundreds of posts about how delicious the Tonga Toast is I told dh to get it when we were there in April and he is a banana lover and he thought it was just okay. I had to take a bite (I only like bananas when there are just starting to be ripe) and I didn't like it.

This is a very good question!! I hate bananna's and I shudder at the thought of them hot....yuck!!! The tonga tast sounds great otherwise:goodvibes
