Of course we will be there on opening day! I certainly didn't think that this vacation I was going to have to deal with mob-like crowds, but now I don't know. I am excited that we might have a chance to see the show, (and I really want to) but I am not sure I want to deal with that. But on the other hand, how cool would it be 10 years from now to be able to say that you were there on the opening night for the show?

Hey, we have the same arrival date! I figure Wednesday (if there's no WoC show then) and Thursday (grad night) should be pretty OK as far as crowds. After that....ah.... I think I'll probably be claiming my GAD FPs on Friday since we're leaving Sunday.

Anyway, I will be there on the projected opening date as well! I don't know if I'm going to try for opening night--for me, I think that will depend on how it looks like Showpass will work. I wouldn't be at all surprised if even with Showpass, people are lining up literally 4+ hours before the show (and probably lining up as soon as bag check opens for DCA to GET the Showpasses!). As much as I'd like to see it, I'm leaning towards not spending my entire Friday in lines.

In theory, you'd think Saturday might be a more reasonable day simply because of the blockouts. But on the other hand, even locals with a Monday-Friday job can get to the park early on Saturday. (I'll personally be buying a blockout pass on Saturday so there may be a lot of local AP-holders too.)

Personally, I also wouldn't be surprised if they did some soft openings for WoC, even if the 6/11 opening date "sticks". (Al Lutz has lately posted some dates that don't hold true in the end, so while I think 6/10 media debut is probably right, I wouldn't be shocked if it's not.)

If they do soft openings, then attending the 6/11 event wouldn't really be the public debut, either.

If there's a way to see the show without waiting ALL day during my trip though, I'll probably do it. It would be super-fun if we could figure out a way for DISers to meet together during the wait for the show, so at least we'd have new people to talk to.

(I was also figuring to see if anyone wants to get together at some point during my trip to maybe ride PotC and HM or something...something where we get to wait in line and talk for a while and do something in the park. )

I thought we'd miss the grand opening of WoC but it looks like we'll be there during the opening. I cannot imagine what it will do for crowd levels.

We will be there about a week or so AFTER the opening but honestly I think the entire summer is going to be nuts because of it. You know all the locals and pretty much everyone and their mother who is going is going to want to try and see it. I really want to see it but my mom can't stand for hours NOR can she sit on concrete for hours either. So I guess we will just have to see how the showpass works and go from there. Honestly I am hoping that down the road they do a dinner or desert viewing like they do with fantasmic or Hollywood and Dine at DW and to me it would be WELL worth the money at least one time to see it in style and not have to wait for hours on end.

We will "try" to see it while we are there but I am def skeptical of the madhouse that will be there because of it!

Guess it will remain to be seen.

Yeah there will only be a week and a half of show before we go-- hopefully that will be enough to learn how to 'do it' here on the board. We've got our volunteer passes to use that Monday and Tuesday the ap's aren't blocked out. I'm thinking for our third day of fast pass--Friday.

We will be there the 23-26th! Also are going into the park on Sun June 20th (Father's Day) for the pm. May just do WoC that day as our ONLY thing.
