I know it's been asked....hotels at MCO???s

We aren't quite sure yet when we are flying in to MCO. We know it's the night before....or early the day before....we're sailing in November and not going to take a chance of the chicago weather...last year we stayed at BC but we got there at 10:20 a.m. This year it looks like I can get a later flight....like at 2:50. Does DCL provide transportation from a hotel at MCO? Where have you stayed?

We always stay at the Hyatt, which is right in the airport terminal. No shuttles needed. It is a bit more expensive, but I think that the convenience factor cancels out the extra cost. We also use the DCL busses, and check-in for them is right in the lobby of the Hyatt on the morning of the cruise. In addition, with the DCL transfers, you can leave your luggage in the hall outside your room, with the cruise line's tags on them, and they'll be collected and transferred to the ship. On the morning of the cruise, we usually get up and go to breakfast, come back and finish packing, check out using the TV, and then leave our bags outside the door and go check in for the bus.

You can spend significantly less staying at a hotel off-property, but in order to catch the DCL bus, you'd have to take the hotel's shuttle back to MCO on the morning of the cruise. I just feel that the extra $100 or so is worth not having to find and wait around for a hotel shuttle to get to and from the airport.

DCL doesn't provide transportation, but if you bid the highest star level on Priceline, you'll get a hotel with a free shuttle. Just take it back to MCO to pick up the bus.

Thanks LLoyd and Barb...as you know Barb ATA has a lot less flights and DW hates to fly but will with them since they have got her there safely before ....I still would like to stay at a WDW resort if we get an early enough flight. We like to walk around and eat at Downtown Disney.....

My name is TVGUY and I am cheap. We stayed at the Sheraton just off the airport, and the 5 minutes it took us to get to the hotel, and 5 minutes back to the airport was well worth the $100 we saved. $100 for 10 minutes time works out to about $600 an hour, a whole lot more than my boss pays me.

in 2004 we stayed at the mco hyatt the night before the cruise. with aaa discount it was approx. $140 and the convenience was definitely worth it. dcl picks up your luggage and collects you from the hyatt lobby. in addition, we had all the restuarants and stores in the airport available, which came in handy because dd #3 forgot her toothbrush.
