I *know* it's been asked before, but what dog food brand do you use?

We have been using Science Diet Puppy Small Bites, but after doing some reading and talking to his trainer, we've decided we want to move him to something without so much corn meal, which is the primary ingredient in Science Diet. We're almost finishing with this bag, so we've been reading up on others.

His groomer recommends Pro Plan, and gave me LOADS of coupons for it so it would be very affordable, and seems to have an okay ingredient list. His trainer recommends Royal Canine, I believe? Or Nutro.

What do you use?

When we brought Lilo home she was eating Royal Canin. It was too rich for her though and upset her tummy, so after a few tries we found Nutro Lamb and Rice, which works great for her! I think it really depends on the dog. We had to try a few different things!

I switch around. It doesn't seem to bother my dog's tummy at all, though I think some dogs can't change foods easily. Her latest has been Purina Fit & Trim since she has struggled with a weight problem for years.

Do they have a WISH board for dogs?;)

We love Diamond foods. We have two 100 lb. 2 year old labs that are very lean... we had them on Diamond Lamb and Rice.

That said, we have recently had a really hard time with our retailer keeping the Diamond food in stock, so we have switched to Purina One Lamb and Rice, which is what they were on when they were very young.

During the winter we use some Diamond maintenance to fatten them up a bit.

I think it's all up to what your dog does well on, and what's available to you.

Good luck!

Good thread, I would be interested too. As for our Beagle mix, he gets 1/2 can of Pedigree (usually beef) and some Kibble and Bits.

We started out on Wellness, she didn't like that. Now, she's on Canidae but it is hard to find. I've read that Kirkland (Costco's brand) is good, so I may try that next. I'll have to buy 40#'s @ Costo & she's kinda finicky - I'm worried she won't like it & I'll be stuck with 40#'s of dog food.

edited to add
forgot about NutroMax, she likes that too.

I have 1 with kidney disease on Science Diet K/D.
Another is on Science Diet C/D to prevent crystals from forming (crystals can develop into stones.)

Other 2 are on ProPlan Extra Care Natural Turkey Barley. It's good for sensitive stomachs.

FI's Rottie eats Diamond during the summer and winter. It keeps meat on his bones.

My Shih-Tzu and Lab eat Pedigree Small Crunch Bites or Eukanuba (U-ka-new-ba)(spelling?hehe.) Which they normally take most of the day to eat. We have started putting 1 small spoonful of the wet Pedigree dog food mixed in to their normal dry food and they stand there and eat the entire bowl!

I don't know what it is about the sent of the wet dog food, but it makes them nuts for their food. I'd say that between both dogs it takes them about 4-5 days to eat 1 can together. So as you can see it takes just a tiny bit.

Our dog has a sensative tummy but is doing great on Nutro Natural Choice

Our 7 y.o. Weimaraner has been eating Iams Mini Chunks for years.

Purina. I see our Abby (short for Abigail Bailey) is in good company! Is see that's what Monty eats, too!
