I know I'm going to regret this, but tell me about the GBs

I have to confess though we've been to US many times, we've never seen the Ghostbusters' show. Shocking I know.

Where is it?

What is it like?

Will it appeal to us? We are

boys 4, 8 + 13;
girls 13 + 16,
4 women of an age to have/be aunts of the aforementioned kids and 2 men - my DH and BIL

Now all females will have a mild passing interest in Clare and Keriann's hot guys ;) (for aesthetic purposes only of course), but what's in it for the Y chromosomes?

Oh and DH, BIL and I loathed Bill & Ted's Halloween Adventure at HHN last year - we are too old and probably too English to get most of the jokes!

Woohoo! I get to answer before FlyFly does!

GB is performed on the Library stage that is at the dead end street located between Twister and Mummy.

The show is basically the Ghostbusters finding Beetlejuice, and Beetlejuice forcing them to lipsync to songs (hehehehe, they're singing songs women sing, get it?)

I'm not a fan of the show (haven't even been able to sit through all of it), but I could see any female in your party, especially the girls, liking the show. The boys may think its funny, or would rather watch paint dry, depends on the boys. Men, would probably want to skip this.

But, everything, in my opinion, is worth at least 1 shot, so try to catch a showing if you can.

To be honest I know we all kid Fly about the show but we as a family really enjoyed the show its not that special but it is funny and refreshing in my opinion if u get a good beetlejuice he can be a blast :jester:

Nooooooooooo!!! Don't tell what happens!!! That ruins all the fun of it!!!!!   SLACKING!!! :duck:

(hehehehe, they're singing songs women sing, get it?)

that's not 100% true! Not all the songs females sing! Unless you call Nsync and Micheal Jackson females. Though, I can understand the mistake...LOL!

Well. It's different for everyone. So I'll tell some peoples' opinions:

there are guys, like Slacking, who strongly dislike the show. There are many teenage boys who would agree they hate it and can not sit through it.

Then there are the females, and the other guys. My dad really enjoys the show (he better...;) lol). Can only see it once or twice per trip...but doesn't mind seeing it in general. I got an interesting PM from a guy (name withdrawn for fear he'd beat me down) who said he likes the show, and thanks to me, he found himself running to the last show. LOL

I got my mom's boss and his family to see the show. The wife and husband are in their upper 30s, and the daughter is around 8 or 9. They all LOVED it!!! :)

My mom, my aunts (ranging from 29 to 51 years), female cousins (ranging from 13 to 26 I think?), grandmother(in her seventies)....they all drool over the GBs! GIO2 is the favorite for the Prebor ladies!! ;) And that's....5 sisters, and at least 6 daughters (including a daughter's daughter or two). I recorded a Holiday GB Show, and we all watched it with pleasure, at our family Christmas Party. Even my guy cousins and my uncles were laughing and enjoying it. :)

The 13 and 16 year old girls will love it! Not sure about the boys...every boys' taste is different. I met a young boy around 7 or 8 years old who loved the show a lot, and saw it multiple times. And then I met another boy...around 15 or 16...who screamed more than me, and other GB groupies combined (though I don't scream much), and claimed to absolutely LOVE the show, and see it many times...but that's a whoooooooooole other story....if you know what I mean!!

Slacking already told you the location. Also be sure to check out the page I dedicated to the show on my website! It'll give you a better idea, including show times!! :)

Oh! Here's a quick link: http://home.comcast.net/~mareaclare/extremeghostbusters.htm

Enjoy pictures, my review, show times, etc.

BTW - I'd like to pay my respect to the GOOD Beetlejuice. He just performed his last show a week from last Sunday. He moved out of state. :( The other Beetlejuices aren't nearly as good, at least not right now. So the beginning of the show might seem lame...but don't leave! Please promise me to stay for an entire show!!! :hyper:

i thought the show was cute. you might want to encourage the boys to ride the mummy one more time while you go see the show

my boyfriend was one that would rather watch paint dry...and he detested it.....

depends on the person!!::yes::

I watched it several times plus many other viewings in the editing room. I think I've had my fill of GBs. I don't want to see the show again. I'd rather sit in Barney. It makes me feel like I got a lobotomy when I watch that show. :)

wow...didn't know there were so many on this board that loathe the show! :p :p Sorry I shove it down your throats on a regular basis!!!

More than just teenagers, men of all ages could fit into this category (saying this mainly because I am well out of my Teen years)

I'd rather sit through Barney again, I enjoyed that show :teeth:

true, Slacking. Though I have met guys well out of their teen years who enjoy the show, but since the thread starter had boys in their teens, that's why I specified that category. :)

Never saw Barney. :p :p Don't plan on it either...it's my "Chickening Out Punishment" between Keriann and myself. If I chicken out from talking to a GB or doing something in particular, that's my punishment.

Hehe. The punishment!!!! Mwhahaha!!! On Monday we can soooooo squeeze a Barney show in, but this time we'll also have Kim and believe me, you will not sit down ONCE in that show!!! We're up dancing and singing!! Even the 4 year olds laugh at us. Oh yeah we're the kewl kids :smooth:

Anyways, my dad enjoys watching the GB show, but just once. He would rather go on MIB until he beats his high score before watching 2 GB shows. Watch the show atleast once. It's fun and cute for the family :sunny:

one of the downsides of knowing someone who posts on these boards like I know Keriann....posting things will just end up biting me in the a$$ in the end. LOL

Hey Slacking, do you know when the Mummy ride is opening:p

OK maybe we'll take a look. If I see a yellow seat cushion I'm definitely going to watch!!:teeth:
