I know I'm doing something wrong

It seems like everyone but me is getting a great rate on car rentals. The cheapest I've found is $150 for 4 days 9/7-9/11 and it seems like others are paying this amount for 8 days, what the heck am I doing wrong?

You get the better rates when you book a week, which most companies consider 5-7 days. You're stuck paying for 4 individual days at the higher daily rate. Is your rental over a weekend? If so, your best bet may be to look for a coupon for one free weekend day (i.e. National Entertainment coupon has this).

we went with thrifty this year- the rate was much better- I was having the same problem as you were

Thrifty is less than $80 (total)for a full size for your dates with code KW18 (Orlando Magicard - print a card from their site). Only agout $65 for a compact. Good luck.

My problem is that I have to pick it up at the airport and drop it off at the port cause we're going on the disney cruise afterward

I have found it is cheaper to keep the car the whole time than to rent, return and rent again
Did you check out DCL tribute? he has some info on rental cars on his site

We were getting pretty frustrated with prices for Sept. and were even going to go without. Then I checked National today using the Priceless discount code and an Entertainment book coupon and got the rate down to $136 for 5 days. All the other car rentals were higher except those that are off-site. I found the codes on Mousesavers
