....we have in Disney Reward Dollars ($325) and he said.....

wait for it.....

....."That'll buy 80 turkey legs!"

(He was only kidding.... in reality it would only buy 35 or so.)

I asked if that would be enough for him (turkey legs) and he said he would be in a turkey coma.

1) A simple, logical, planning-type of answer.
2) I applaud his thought pattern.

I thought I was the only one who thought of money saved in amount of Disney snacks! I have $311 Disney reward dollars, so that's ... about 88 Mickey ice cream bars?;) Darn, only about 15 per person.

Every dollar counts for something! I'd better go spend some more money!:lmao:

Hi girlieeee,
This is a great post! I got a really good laugh. That is a man with a plan and I like it! :thumbsup2

LOL! We just had a similar situation... although my DH said... and how much did you have to spend to "save" all that :scared1:

:rolleyes1Silly hubby!

I love it!!!!! My husband would be thinking how many glasses of champagne in Epcot it would buy

That is funny. My husband has to get at least one turkey leg each trip.

I have been thinking about applying for a Disney card for a while, since our lives revolve around Disney. My son only watches Disney shows (so disappointed no more Pooh). We go to Disneyland and/or DisneyWorld at least once a year. Disneystore.com is one of the sites I purchase from the most. If we go to the mall without stopping in the Disney Store, my son complains.

How do the reward dollars work. I only know that you get one for every $100you spend. Are they available at the end of a use year or do you use them as soon as you earn them? How do you redeem them? I just got an offer for a $200 gift card if I apply, so I think now is the time.

My DH would totally be on board with the turkey legs! :lmao: Me, I go for the ice cream!;) Thanks for the laugh!

ETA: DH has a favorite saying: "You can go broke saving money!" But he loves the way I save!

You get $1 Disney Dollar per $100 dollars spent. When you get to $25 you can redeem for a Disney Rewards gift card (you can only have 2 cards with a balance on them at any given time). IF you do the $200 promotion I think you get the $200 once you make your first purchase (might be a processing time I don't know). Now is definitely the time, I've never seen a better promo from them!

I also got the offer for the $200 and complained to them that I was only offered me $25 when I signed up and they threw another $20 at me to shut me up. I don't always use this card so it has taken me years to earn the $325.

Thanks. You're right. I have to buy something and then they give me the $200. I will go for it then.

:lmao: I love it!! I have been known to calculate cash on the value of a cinnamon roll from MSB - even at home :rolleyes1

Tell your DH he gave a whole bunch of us a good laugh tonight! :thumbsup2

I love your husband's thinking!:rotfl: Thanks for the laugh!

I have an AP and go to WDW several times year. I always try to go the week my current AP is expiring so I can get one last trip out of it, then let it expire, and buy a new one several months later when I go for my next trip. This past Oct I knew I had to get a new AP, had an old gift card with about $130.00 on it left over from the F&W Festival the Oct before, and had an old unused one day ticket that I had bought several years before in order to get free dining that year. I figured out how much a new AP would cost, then subtracted what that old gift card and old one day ticket was worth and then cashed in just enough Reward Points to get my AP. The first day we went to Guest Services and turned all three in. The CM said I owed a grand total of .76 cash for my AP.:rotfl:

My husband and I are going to WDW in May and recently bought two more gift cards with $300.00 on each just to use for our restaurant tips and any extras we might want to buy at the restaraunts (we're on the basic DDP) during the May trip. I'm sure we'll have quite a bit left over on at least one of those cards. I'm debating on whether to use the left over gift card while I'm there in late Sept/early Oct for the F&W Festival kiosks or save it until I get another AP in Dec. I still have several of those old one day park tickets I've had to buy for different promotions and I currently have about 500 Reward points on my Visa. I could again combine what's left on the Disney gift card, an old one day ticket and some Reward points to get another AP when I go back in Dec. Hopefully my AP will cost me less than $1.00 cash that trip also.

I use my Disney Visa for everything just to get the points and then go online and pay it off once a week. I use it just like a debit card subtracting it from my check book everytime I use it, then placing a little check mark by each item in the check book as I pay it off every Monday. As long as the place doesn't charge a fee for using a credit card I charge every thing. That way my Reward points really add up.
