I just signed a contract!!!

I just signed a contract for OKW and faxed it to Pat at the Timeshare Store. I'm just so excited!

I want to thank everyone who posts to this board for all of your wonderful wisdom, information and advise. I felt with everything I learned here I was able to make a well informed decision that I hope to enjoy for many years to come.

How may points did you get and what was the going resale price?

The contract was for 190 points at $67/point. Hopefully it will go through with Disney exercising their ROFR.

Arcruiser - sorry I may have gotten the one you were looking at. I too took a really long time before I was ready to "take the plunge". I've spent hours reading this board and then took my time looking at resale sites to find just the right contract with the right amount of points, good use year, preferred home resort and of course the right price.

I'm going to try to not borrow any points if I can help myself. I've already got a trip planned over labor day weekend with my son. I had made the reservations before I got brave enough to call the Timeshare Store.

Good luck with your future purchase. You're right, I'm sure another contract will come along for you that will be even better.

I'm in the middle of waiting for the ROFR to go through on my contract as well. I haven't seen much go through for less than $70/point so, good luck to you!

Those ROFR waitin' times can be stressfull from what I hear. But, keep your head up and we'll send some pixie dust your way!

disneyfanprincess, in a way it's good to know someone else was like-minded to us on that one. Kinda reaffirms our thoughts on what we are lookin' for.

On a deal like it, we figured to borrow a bit of points this fall for a stay in a Studio. With that many points, I'm sure it would always be 1br or 2 br afterward!

I truly do wish you the best of luck with the ROFR - that will make our chances better also!


ArnyVee, did your contract have any points for 2003? I think that will play into the ROFR decision. My thinking is that a contract that does not have any 2003 points will probably pass at a lower price (I hope). A contract that has it's 2003 points intact would be for valuable to Disney.

I think the Timeshare Store is very fast and efficient with their listings. My deposit check arrived in their office at 12:38 this afternoon (according to Fedex). So they must've updated their website superfast and removed the listing. Its basically sold right now - either to me or to Disney. I don't think I'll know for several more weeks whether or not I got it or if Disney will snap it up via ROFR. Pat told me the whole process takes about 8 weeks but I think she said I should know if I get it or not in 5 or 6 weeks. Waiting is going to KILL me!

I just saw a post on here that Disney is offering add-on points at OKW. Arrghhh! One of the reasons I wanted OKW was I thought the ROFR would be less likely since they weren't offering add ons. Oh well. Pat did tell me that she hadn't seen Disney exercise their ROFR on contracts without any banked and/or current year points so maybe that will help me out. I'll just have to sweat it out and see. If this one doesn't go through I guess I just get to start my search all over again. Just got to stay positive and know that I'll get something eventually.

Please let me know when your purchase goes through (I'm thinking positively for you ) and then send some of that pixie dust my way. BTW, which resale company are you working with? I'm wondering why mine said 5 - 6 weeks to find out about ROFR and yours said 3 weeks. Hmmmm

Actually, I have Shontell over at www.DVCbyResale.com working on my deal. She said that the whole process (including ROFR) shouldn't take more than 6 to 8 weeks. So, the actual ROFR process should take approximately anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks. She has said that some have come back a week or two later and that's what I'm hoping for!
