Did anyone see Omorosa (from The Apprentice) has a dating show on the cable channel TV One. Donald Trump set her up with about 15 eligible bachelors (all African American and 1 white guy). The bachelors are living in one of Trump's penthouses in Las Vegas.

At the start of the progrm, all the men (who are professional, all-Christian men, who are made up of lawyers, singers, entrepeneurs, etc.) are told by head of security that if they want to use the facilities in the hotel (gym, bar, etc.) that they are not to mess up the place while they are there. I mean, who says things like that to hotel guests? Granted they are not guests but they are essentially on a TV dating show employed by Trump.

Wow, that's crazy...or am I sensitive?

Umm, maybe it was in the delivery but I don't see that as racist. :confused3

This program is being filmed there so I would imagine that they are staying for free. There is no credit card to charge for damages so maybe that's the reason for the warning. I know with paid guests there is a credit card on file so they can bill the guests for any damages.

Again, maybe it was in the delivery of the message but just by the written word I don't see it as racist.

Actually it was in the delivery, the head of security just busts in their room unannounced and says I'm sure some of you would like to use the facilities (bar, gym) but we ask that you please not mess them up.

I don't see racism either, maybe sexism but not racism ;)

I'd say sensitive. If the security guard had seen any "reality" show in the past several years, he'd know that black, white, or yellow, the possibility of trashing a place for the cameras would be pretty high.

I don't see the racism. Now I run a hotel, so I would sure be telling a group of young males on a TV show (regardless of race) that they need to be respectful of the property, other guests, etc etc.

I would care less that their races are, just that I have no security deposit, and a full hotel of other guests that can be impacted if they don't behave themselves.

Naturally. But from a public relations standpoint it would have been better to say that off camera as no other reality show does this.

Plus, despite this being a 'reality' show, at least some of it is scripted. A scene like that? Definitely. The head of security didn't do that on his own; he was directed to enter the room and deliver the information.

Sorry, but I don't see that as racism.

As I read your post, I was expecting you to say Omarosa sent the "white guy" home. THAT would be racism!

A little OT, but did these guys know that Omarosa is the person they are vying for the attention of? :scared1: She is horrible!:rotfl:

Maybe he's stereotyping idiots that go on reality shows and not race.

I vote for "sensitive".

I was expecting something more like what I saw back in the late 80's in a hotel in Dallas.

I was accompanying my mother to her high school reunion. The only other teenager there was black. We were all going back and forth to our cars to get luggage and other stuff. My mother and I went back and forth several times and no one said a word to us. My friend's father went back and the hotel security pounced on him and made him lie face down over his car for a pat down, and then accused him of having fake ID when he tried to show them his conference badge.

Now THAT was racism.

This? I think this was probably staged, and I'm expect there will be some hotel trashing scenes coming up. But even if it wasn't staged, it's just common sense, considering what we've seen on other reality shows.

I think where you went wrong was having Donald Trump and Omorosa in a TV show and expecting there to be class and civility.

I'm not seeing a big problem with it since it's reality TV. Can we say "shock value"

This. A group of young men, especially on someone else's dime, need reminding sometimes to behave themselves.

Come on folks, its the in thing to do these days = look for things to scream racism about.

I don't see any racism there. I see a large group of men on a reality show. Given what I've seen on other shows, a comment like that is not unjustified.

Absolutely... seen this time and time again where they make just utter idiots of themselves. Not saying they all do, but it's pretty common.

Yeah, I don't see it either? I'm not even sure why someone would think that statement was racist? You mean, like black men and more likely to "mess" things up than white men? I don't think you'd find that to be true.

I do know know that the Donald had them sign a lot of paperwork immediately upon showing up but I'm not sure why. Donald Trump knows what sells and soemone as classless as Omoorosa is $$ in the bank for reality tv---a trainwreck that people can't look away from.
