I just received my very first eBay scam email

And it was the typical:

It has come to our attention that your account
may be used by third party in a fraudulent activity
with eBay. As a result, your access to bid or buy
on eBay has been restricted. According to our site
policy you will have to confirm that you are the real
owner of the eBay account by entering your credit card
information. Please click on the link below to get to
the eBay security update page and complete the form that
will appears. After that your account information will be
verifyed and you will be redirected to the eBay home page. Thank you.

Just thought I would keep all my DIS pals aware that they are still out there.

Any eBay experts out there? Should I forward it to the 'real' eBay folks, or are they already painfully aware of these dirtbags.

I tried to click on the link and it said page unavailable.. hmmm. I would let Ebay know. I buy there all the time, I definitely would let them know.

I get at least 1 of these a day from eBay, Paypal, etc. I just delete them.

I'm always tempted to tell these people what I think of them in two short words, one four letter and the second three letter!
I always chicken out though. Has anyone else told them what I think?

I just delete them too, I figure if I ever can't use my ebay or paypal account that then I'll worry about it. There is no way I'm giving my CC info to anyone.

Before you delete those phony emails, forward them with the headers to spoof@ebay.com or spoof@paypal.com. Ebay uses the information to track and hopefully find whoever is sending them.

I always report them to ebay and then have some fun.

When they ask fo rmy id & password, well I give them one. But can't repeat the phrase I use

LOL, sometimes I do the same thing.

YEs.. do forward it to the ebay address mentioned above. The more they get the easier it is to track these dopes!

We get them all the time, and its ridiculous how they are worded sometimes.. one even came with 3rd grade spelling!

My husband has written in the blanks provided for name and acct number "Do I look like an idiot?" then another choice word or two.
