I don't know why I kept thinking "I have plenty of time before we leave". I just "moused over" the clock on my computer screen and May 20th popped up! We leave in 8 days and I haven't even considered starting to pack. My sister and her family are going on June 21st and she has already packed the kid's suitcases and she just bought DBIL some new shorts! I don't even have any tennis shoes (sneakers) to wear! I have to get busy!

OMG we are going to Disney World!

Umm, you have 8 days, what does it take to pack, an hour maybe??? :bounce:

If I packed 8 days early, I wouldn't have any underwear to wear until I got there! :earboy2:

I havent even thought about packing and we leave in 5 days!!! :cool1:

I agree with the above posters... 8 days to pack? That's insane! I plan on packing the night before/morning of!

I admire you guys who can just pack the night before. It takes me days to pack. It takes me forever to decide what I want to wear and bring....and then I end up bringing everything anyway!

We begin our drive a week from today. I have my pile of Disney stuff started, but haven't actually started real packing. I probably won't get to that until next week sometime.

We will be gone for 18 days total and there are four of us. It takes me an entire day to get all the clothes, toiletries and road trip things actually packed.

Yep, have to agree w/ the others. I'm leaving tomorrow and still haven't packed. Will do so later today.

I always pack the night before/day of. . . . I have everthing bought--not packed.

I do not get the thing of packing a month in advanced!!

I don't pack until the day before we leave either. In fact, I'm usually still doing laundry up until late afternoon. I do usually come up with some sort of packing list though, to make sure I don't forget some of the things that are only important on a Disney trip. I forgot DS's pins and lanyard last trip...can't let that happen again!

OK all you "non packers", How do you do it?
I leave in 5 months and I have started a bag already. Everything I buy ahead goes into it.
We also buy new clothes for the vacation and they all go in it too.
So by the time we are a week out, all I have to throw in there is last minute things, like meds.
How do you remember everything if you dont pack until the night before?
Arent you afraid you will forget something?
The last thing I want to be doing on vacation is having to take a trip to the store because we forgot something.
It must just be me. Even with all my lists, I still pack way ahead. I think it also adds to the excitement. :flower:

I usually pack at about 30 days out. We take all new clothes, so that is not a problem. I also sneak down gifts for the kids & those are already packed. My Mickey backpack that I take in the park is still packed from last year. :rotfl:

We leave next Friday for 5 days in the Bahamas. I'm not packed. Nor have I begun to pack.

One way I handle it is to have a toiletries bag pre-packed and ready at all times. It harkens back to my "professional" days, when I always had to be ready for a business trip on short notice. All I do is toss that bag, some undies, a swimsuit and a couple of outfits into the suitcase and I'm good to go. It also helps that the kids are old enough to do their own packing. I give them a list and hope for the best. At least they can't blame me if something doesn't get packed!

For me, traveling days are the most stressful part of the vacation. It helps if I don't stress over the luggage as well.

I leave in 3 weeks :cheer2: and I have a pile of clothes ready to be packed. I just need to get some more things together. I'll do that closer to the date I go.

We MUST pack early in our house -- we have 4 kids. We leave on Saturday the 28th and we've declared that this Sunday is the official start of packing. Why -- because if we don't have them pack now -- on Friday night, or worse, Saturday morning one of the kids (DD15, DS13, DD8, DD6) will say -- "but I need these shorts and this top that I wore yesterday -- it's my favorite, I need it." The little ones especially -- for some reason -- go through 2 outfits a day sometimes. Packing early also helps build the excitement for the trip.

Hahah....I leave tomorrow and I haven't packed! I have done laundry, though. I guess I'll get to it tonight sometime. LOL

I have a pack list Word doc with check boxes so I can check them off as I pack them (the night before). With each trip I add items as I need them, or take off items I know I no longer need to take. I think I pack a little bit differently, since I did study abroad in college and had to figure out how to pack my whole life into one suitcase, so I'm not as panicky about what I forget (aside from prescriptions).

I know what we need and buy those things and put away(always look for suntan lotion, etc.)--I guess we are programmed that way!!

We just get up pack and

:moped:

We never pack until night before/day of.

Never buy new clothes for trip.... although sometimes we do for DS5 if he's in need. Have to wear the clothes we're taking, so we wait until the last minute.... then it's how many days? That many tops plus about 3 or 4 and that many shorts, usually minus 1 or 2, some night shirts, lots of underwear, socks, shoes, toiletries, and zip it up and put it in the car!

Well, get off the boards and get into the bedroom! :goodvibes

Have a great time!
