DH disagrees, but Mary (a friend) and I loved it!

DH and I joined about a dozen of his coworkers and their SOs for dinner tonight -- it was a combo "beginning of school year"/birthday/"farewell to those moving on" party for the staff and their SOs at Dave and Buster's. I debated going since we're so tight on getting the house, but decided the distraction would be a very good thing and worth the $20 or so to go, so went.

After dinner (which, as usual, was very fun) we went out to the games to play. DH and I thought we had points left on our cards but turned out we didn't, so we put $10 on for the night.

Sean (another coworker) introduced Mary to this dance game, and I went to watch too. There were two girls dancing when we walked up -- they were on the difficult setting and practically didn't miss a beat! AMAZING!

So Mary and I decided to try it. We probably looked like fools, even on the easy setting (not to mention when we accidentally got stuck with the selection on a level 3 song instead of level 1  ) but BOY did we have fun!! I haven't had that much fun in a while, let alone that much exercise.

So... now I'm looking for those dance pads for the game systems if they still exist. I want one!!

Rajah - I'm pretty sure they just rereleased the dance pad again for some new game. Make sure to look into
disney's dance dance revolution

Thanks Straycat! That's now on my list of purchases to make soon after we get into the house. I *need* something to get some good exercise, and this is the first thing I've seen in several years that I'd actually have *fun* doing and thus maybe actually will *get* some exercise. I'd *much* rather have the Disney Mix with a dance pad over a treadmill or exercise bike, both of which I was considering though I know I wouldn't use either much.

yep.. and next time u go to WDW, go into the arcade @ Space Mnt. they have the arcade version of the disney one there.... (and disneyquest has the normal one)

Rajah, you can find the dance pads on Ebay. Isn't it fun?????

:p

I got my DD's dance pads and games on ebay. She loves them! I like the Disney version, too.

I can't wait! If we weren't so close to closing (or if the loan on the house falls through) I'd order it *right now*. I've been looking for a way to exercise that I'd actually *do* for *years*! I love dancing, but hate just putting on music and moving aimlessly or doing it by myself. I *hate* exercise equipment, hate exercise shows.... but *love* games and love to dance. This is a challenge, and has enough levels it looks like it will be for some time!

I've got pretty good hand-eye coordination from my computer and video games... now it's time to work on foot-eye coordination ;)

Come on over and dance with my DD! :D She loves having a partner. Hope the loan goes through so you can soon get your own! It is a lot of fun.

A few weeks ago DH and I were at DQ in DD. We are both hooked on the Daytona driving that happened to be set up across from Dance revolution. I was amazed at this game. Mostly young men who had to spend hours on this thing. They even brought their own water bottle. I would have loved to try it but was too busy trying to beat DH at Daytona (which I did several times)

Edited:

I just looked on ebay. Can you find these things at a Toys R Us. Also it looks like the game is for the PS1 which means it also runs on a PS2. I wonder if they have an updated version.

I see a Christmas gift for the kids here:cool:

I remember seeing that game in the arcades. Looks pretty interesting, but don't dare make a fool of myself. LOL. :)
