I just made Green Goddess Salad Dressing

Does anyone remember this stuff? It was popular and widely advertised in the late 60s/early 70s("Who made the salad?"). Here's the recipe I used:


2 cups mayonnaise
4 anchovy fillets, minced
1 green onion, chopped
2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley
2 teaspoons chopped fresh chives
1 tablespoon tarragon vinegar
1 teaspoon chopped fresh tarragon

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIRECTIONS:
Mix together mayonnaise, anchovy, green onion, parsley, chives, vinegar and tarragon.
Refrigerate until ready to serve and pour over favorite salad or greens.

It tastes good, but not quite like I remember. I recall just a hint of a sweet taste, so I'm going to add just a small amount of sugar.

Anyone else remember/like this?

Yum. We just had that last night, we went to The Melting Pot, they use Green Godess as one of their sauces for the veggies. Its deliciously sinful!

Snoopy the Melting Pot What a great meal. I wonder why it went off the market too. I think it was very popular at one time.

yeah, it's still put out by Kraft 7 Seas...got some in my fridge right now. It's
my favorite dressing.

Kraft Seven Seas makes Green Goddess dressing. It's my favorite.

I'm going to have to try that recipe.

I love it, but I always buy it. I never make it.

Because I hadn't seen it at Kroger I thought the Kraft version was off the market. They must have 60 different salad dressings but no GG. I added a pinch of sugar to my homemade stuff and it was really good.
