I just love standard time.

So I am always confused, is this the "right" time.......what it should always be?
the whole clock changing thing annoys me. why can't we just leave it alone one way or the other :)

This is the "right" or standard time. We originally started setting clocks ahead in the summer time to make better use of the daylight during the longer days. :thumbsup2

I wish the time would stay the same all year too. But if it has to change, I sure like it when it falls back. I don't like to spring forward at all.

Standard time is the "right" time as far as our relation to UTC is concerned. I have to admit though that I would rather the extra hour of light be at night when I can enjoy it then in the morning when it just lights up my route to work. I don't really mind either way though, it just is what it is.

I HATE when time changes in the fall!! Its depressing enough with the cold now but add getting dark an hour earlier and it just sucks!! WHo cares about getting up when its dark, I wold rather have the daylight to enjoy after work! My daughter now gets off the school bus after school when it is dark out!

Move to Arizona, Hawaii or any US Territory. No Daylight Savings time for us.

Hate standard time. I'd rather get up with the dark and have a bit of light in the late afternoon/early evening. I feel like the veil of darkness has descended upon us......

i'm glad it is back too.

I hate it. I don't need it light in the summer at 10pm.....and now it was still pitch black until after 8am and i'd rather have the light for the kids at the bus stops in the morning.

DH and I are the COMPLETE opposite. It is wayyyy too hard for us to get up when it is pitch black in the room. It is just depressing. It feels like you're getting up in the middle of the night to go to work. It's sooooo much better getting up when there is light coming in the bedroom window. It's like "ahhhh sunlight! It must be morning. Time to get up!"

DH and I were just talking about this 5 minutes ago and how much happier we are now that we're not getting up and getting dressed in the dark.

up until about 2 years ago you could add Indiana to that. It was fun, there were a few counties on a different time zone too.

OP i was just thinking the same thing this morning....it just feels better to be up the past two days. I don't care for the early darkness in the evening, but I just feel better now; getting up in the morning doesn't seem so difficult.

You would think that living in a state where Daylight Saving Time is not observed, things would be less complicated. We've only been in Arizona for a little over a year, but wow, it's hard to get used to NOT changing the clocks.:headache:

Yeah, we always know the correct time here (and it doesn't change) but try keeping track of everywhere else, especially if you travel frequently to either coast throughout the year.

Arizona is always on Mountain Standard Time, but that becomes the same as Pacific Daylight Saving Time for part of the year. So, during DLST, Arizona is three hours behind EST, two hours behind CST, one hour behind MST, and the same as PST. The rest of the year, Arizona is two hours behind EST, one hour behind CST, same time as MST, and one hour AHEAD of PST. So, even though we are technically always on MST, because the rest of the states in MST observe DLST, we are really on a different time for part of the year, even in MST.

Sounds like a very complicated Math problem that I don't want to solve!:rotfl:

I hate it. It always feels like the worst day of the year to me when we go back to standard time.

Until the idiot Mitch Daniels got elected and changed things, Indiana didn't have Daylight Savings Time, and it was great.

As much as I like the extra light into the evening in the summer, it's been too darn dark in the morning! It was so much nicer driving to work in daylight today.

My son and his friend were so bugged tonight because they had to come in early. They love to ride their bikes around the neighborhood for hours a few evenings a week but since it was pitch black so early, they had to play indoors. We all hate it. It is finally cool enough to be outside but it is too dark now.

As a traveler on the space-time continuum I can only say...:cool2:

Ugh! I HATE standard time. Completely and totally dispise it! I feel miserable. I hate that it is dark right after school/work. The stupid sun woke DD up at 6 when she doesn't have to be up until 8! Then she was cranky all day because she didn't get enough sleep.

DST can not come fast enough for me!

Same here.
Maybe one day we will change the clocks one half hour & be done with it!
