So I am a straight lady, and have a lot of respect for the gay community, as I am not one to judge. I have friends who are gay. I am happy to say that the gal came to my house. She is going to work out great, I just fell in love with her. A very nice young lady with a great personality. She starts next week! She was straight up with me to tell me that she is gay. I told her I had no problem with it and then told her after talking with her for several hours ask her if she could start next week! :thumbsup2

OK, sorry if I am out of line with this communtiy, I just love you guys! I just wanted to brag! ;)

Where have you been? You know we love you over here! Last I read you had some health problems, how are you?

Geesh, get you housekeeper on this board!

Welcome Home!

I am doing much better, yes it is true, I did have some major health issue. Ended up having major surgery, many wonderful doctor's to take care of me. It is good to be home. :goodvibes

It's always nice to have good news first thing in the morning! Glad your health issues are behind you!:thumbsup2

I am not gay, but I just felt like chiming in on this one. I still can't believe that in this day and time that people feel the need to have to disclose whether you are gay or straight.

On my next job interview, I'm going to disclose that I'm attracted to small woodland animals!:lmao:

I pray ever day for a world that is not tolerant, and not acceptive, because in that world, we will judge a person on what's inside.:thumbsup2

I hope all of you and your families are happy and healthy. And if you see a big, 6' 1" 250lb. guy at WDW, with his wife and 5 year old, having WWWAAAAYYYY too much fun, don't hesitate to tap me on the shoulder and say hello.

For decades we were not allowed to talk about our personal lives. We were "In the closet". Part of the gay rights movement was saying no more, "I'm me, this is part of me, just letting you know up front", or coming out of the closet. It's just nice to get it out in the open sometimes, not for political or shock value, but just so you know.

It also helps with some of those embarrassing questions like "So do you have a husband/wife"?

Here's a question that I have never asked a gay person.

Does it help with tolerating those damn, dreaded Tea Cups in MK?

If so, SIGN ME UP!!! I ride those with my son, and get sick every time!:scared1:

Tolerating the ride maybe, but the color scheme never! :lmao:

I agree!

Being gay can still be very difficult in today's society. There are still many places that are not very accepting of gay men and women, and in a position where you actually work in someone's home, you can be more likely to be on the recieving end of the hostility.

If I were in a housekeeping role, I would be upfront about it myself (as i am in my current job). In such an intimate environment, having your sexual identity come up at a later time could lead to akward working conditions for yourself and your employers.

...i like the tea-cups...

MsDisney23, any friend of Mike's is a friend of mine! Great news that your health issues are working out!
:)
