I have taken my DS to WDW 4 times. We have stayed at ASMo, CB and AKL. But, I am taking my oldest niece who is 14 Jan 1-5. We are staying at the Grand Floridian, getting a pedicure, going to Cirque du Soliel ( I did see this with my son) BUT.....all girl stuff. I am so excited. I ordered t-shirts with our names on it and January 2003 that she will open for Christmas. I plan to take my other niece sometime and my nephew. But, I am sooooo excited!

I am excited for you :) My DD is about to be 4, I can't wait to do 'big girl' stuff with her.
Have a great time.

Sounds like so much fun. What a special Aunt you are for doing this. Let us know all about it.:D

That sounds like soooo much fun! I am sure you and your niece will have a great time and she will have memories for a lifetime! Enjoy:D

I want to do girlie stuff. But I have a son. I doubt he'd be into the pedicure/ manicure day at the spa kinda thing. I guess I'll have to stick to more manly things like Buzz Lightyear for him.

Boo Hoo:(

Have a great time. It sounds like you and your niece will have a blast:D

KAREN5555-

My son LOVES Buzzlight Year, too. He liked Cirque du Soliel, but he sure would not want to stay at the GF not even wait for me to have a pedicure :)

My DD and I are having a "mommy-daughter day" in December to celebrate our birthdays - she's turning 7, I'm turning 37. We have PS's for the Storybook Princess Breakfast, tickets for MVMCP, and we also bought matching Tinkerbell tshirts! I love your idea of getting our names and the date on them! i am also excited to do girl stuff, I just wish DD was old enough to do the spa thing (I checked and you have to be 10).

Enjoy your day with your niece, you will have a blast!

I am SO excited for you!! And, she doesn't know???? That makes it even more special. She is going to be thrilled when she opens her package at Christmas. I know the two of you will have a blast!

You are a very nice aunt! I went one year with just DD and the memories are priceless!

I also scheduled a limo- yes limo- to pick us up and take us back to the airport. I have never even been in a limo, but really want this to be special. Of course, I hope when I take my other niece I can afford some of the same stuff.

I really think we will have so much fun. My sister already told her basketball coach that she would miss a couple of practices- and that she has no clue. The coach was really good. She talked about how important family is and that she would work with her before and after the trip so she won't have to sit out any games because of UIL rules/

I think this trip is as much for me as her :)

This sounds wonderful. Your niece is very lucky to have you. I look forward to doing something like this with my daughter in the future. Thanks for sharing.

jamsmom.....have a wonderful time. When my daughter turned 18 we went to NYC for a 5 day girl trip, for her birthday. Went to 2 broadway shows, had facials, went to a comedy club, and of course, shopping! It was wonderful. We both will always remember that.
Her aunt took her to Europe when she graduated from college. Aunts are great. Have a wonderful time. You must be a great aunt too!!

Karen: I took my 2 DSs and my DH to the Afternoon Tea at the GF in May 2001, and they all LOVED it! The food was delicious and there is a children's version of the "tea", too. I even took them to Cinderella's Royal Table inside the castle to have breakfast with the princesses :teeth: Hey, as long as there was food involved, they didn't mind at all! heheheeh! (by the way, I have a lot of pictures from that trip on my web site, the link's below) :)

We stayed at the GF and my sons enjoyed staying there. It's not just for girls! LOL They wouldn't mind staying at the GF again, but they've requested the Polynesian for our next family trip :)

Don't be afraid to try different things with your DS just because he's a boy. Now, a pedicure is definitely OUT, but most other things you could do with a daughter, you can do with your son! :)
